Irondale took on Osseo at Rogers High School in the Region 5AAAA boys' basketball game.
Osseo looked to set a quick tempo to the game from the start. They passed the ball around the threepoint line to take as much time off the clock as they could.
The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run in the early goings.
Irondale's Bryan Sprang came out on fire. Sprang scored the first nine points for Irondale. On the
defensive end he played tough defense.
Irondale tied the game up at 12 points with 8:30 in the first.
Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld stepped up and was able to knock down his free throws.
Osseo did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. Everyone on the court touched the
ball before they shot it. Osseo mostly used a motion offense. There was a lot of movement by everyone
on the court.
The first half scoring went back and forth. The shooting of Bryan Sprang kept Irondale in the game.
At halftime the score was Irondale 31 Osseo 28.
Irondale started the second half in a zone defense. They mostly used zone in the first half. Irondale
didn't back down to Osseo’s pressure.
Neither team went on a run. The defense pressure that each team applied was very tough by each team.
The game was very physical. Both teams dove on the ground after loose balls.
Osseo's DJ Hebert was all over the court. He took the ball hard to the basket on the offensive end.
The score was close throughout the second half. Neither team went on a run in the second half.
Irondale called a timeout with 7:50 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 46 and Irondale 41.
VanPelt continued to take the ball strong to the basket. He was not afraid to draw contact. On the
defensive end VanPelt was able to slow down his man.
Osseo pulled away late in the contest. They were able to come way with the 66-56 victory over
The leading scorer for Irondale was Bryan Sprang with 39.The leading scorers for Osseo were Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld with 26 points and Terez Wayne VanPelt with 20 points.
