ANDOVER TOOK ON NORTH ST. PAUL IN THE CLASS AA BOYS’ STATE SOCCER SEMIFINAL STATE TOURNAMENT

Andover went up against North St. Paul in the state semifinals of Class AA at the Metrodome. Both teams looked to attack early in the first half.  

Andover beat Minneapolis Southwest to advance to the semifinals. North St. Paul beat Prairie Seeds Academy to make it to the semifinals.
 
Both teams seemed to be very vocal on both ends of the field, as they were each talking to their respective teammates.
 
Andover’s Ben Nivala scored a goal with 24:07 left to go with the as assist by Bradley Williams.
 
With that goal that made the score Andover 1, North St. Paul 0.
 
The ball flew around the field as each of these teams showed their kicking skills. Neither team was afraid to shoot kick the ball toward the goal.
 
At halftime the score was Andover 1, North St. Paul 0.
 
The second half got underway both teams continued to attack the goal. Both teams however kept the ball near midfield.
 
North St. Paul’s Adam Hildebrandt scored a goal with 31:20 left to go in the game.
 
With that goal that tied the game at 1.
 
With 22:01 left in regulation Tyler King from North St. Paul scored a goal to make the score North St. Paul 2, Andover 1.  
 
It was a hard-fought game. Both teams played well throughout the contest.
 
North St. Paul came away with the hard fought 2-1 victory over Andover.
