PRIOR LAKE TOOK ON HOPKINS IN THE MINNETONKA BASKETBALL FALL LEAGUE

Minnetonka hosted a boys’ basketball fall high school basketball league. In the first game Prior Lake took on Hopkins. The game got off to a quick start as each team raced up and down the floor looking to get into an offensive rhythm.  
 
Hopkins did a good job of getting the ball down the floor and was able to get a lot of good easy layups.
 
Prior Lake had a hard time hitting shots in the first half.  They didn’t give up on themselves as they kept on shooting.
 
Prior Lake tried a bunch of different defensive combinations. They wanted to try to confuse Hopkins on the offensive end. They were not able to do that.
 
The Prior Lake offense went stagnant for a period of time in the first half. They were not able to hit shots that they put up.
 
On the defensive end Prior Lake was able to push the ball down the floor and get transition baskets.
 
They were not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court.
 
At halftime the score was Hopkins 29, Prior Lake 22.
 
As the second half got underway Hopkins continued to attack the baskets where they were able to make easy layups.
 
Hopkins continued to look strong in the second half. They were able to slow down the Prior Lake offense.
 
Prior Lake was not afraid to take the ball hard to the basket. They mixed up layups and jump shots as a way to confuse the defense.
 
Hopkins was too much for Prior Lake late in the second half. Prior Lake was not able to slow down
 
Hopkins on offense for much of the game.
 
Hopkins came away with the 60-50 victory over Prior Lake.
