ST. THOMAS MORE TOOK ON BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

St. Thomas More High School took on Benilde-St. Margaret's High School in a boys' basketball game at the Target Center. This game was the first game of the Minnesota Timberwolves Shoot Out.

The Benilde-St. Margaret's players all wore white tee shirts with the number 13 on them and #Jabs on the front in memory of their classmate Jack Jablonski. Jablonski is the hockey player and a student at Benilde-St. Margaret High School in St. Louis Park. He was admitted to Hennepin County Medical Center after a hockey accident that happened on Friday December 30, 2011.

St. Thomas More stared in a zone defense. They looked to spread the Benilde-St. Margaret's team out on the offensive end.

Benilde-St. Margaret's looked to get the ball into the hands of Sanjay Lumpkin. Lumpkin was all over the court. He was not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court.

St. Thomas More did a good job of moving the ball around on the offensive end. They looked to take time off of the clock as they passed the ball around the three-point line.

Taylor Klapperich had a nice lay-up as he drove the ball hard to the basket. He was not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court.

Benilde-St. Margaret's went on a roll midway through the first half. Lumpkin continued to hit shots.

At halftime the score was Benilde-St. Margaret's 39 and St. Thomas More 23.

St. Thomas More continued to push the ball down the court as they looked to score easy baskets in transition.

Eric Hensch for St. Thomas attacked the basket. He was able score on jump shots in the lane. His teammates were able to get him the ball in that area. His teammate Kilby Eech was also able to hit shots.

St. Thomas More took a timeout with 13:39 left in the second half. The score was Benilde-St. Margaret's 49 and St. Thomas More 30.

Lumpkin continued to shoot the ball well.

Benilde-St. Margaret's was too much for St. Thomas More to handle. Benilde-St. Margaret's came away with the 68-50 victory over St. Thomas More.

The leading scorers for Benilde-St. Margaret's were Sanjay Lumpkin with 29, Isaiah Zierdon with 13 points, and Isaiah Gray with 13 points. Benilde-St. Margaret's shot 28-53 from the field that included going 5-13 from behind the three-point line. They were 7-12 from the free throw line. They grabbed a total of 35 rebounds, 23 of them on the defensive end.

The leading scorers for St. Thomas More were Skye Warwick with 20 points and Eric Hensch with 13 points. They shot 18-47 from the field that included going 9-19 from behind the three-point line. They were 5-9 from the free throw line. They grabbed a total of 24 rebounds, 24 of them on the defensive end.
