The Osseo Orioles took on the Lakeville North in the class AAAA state final game. Both teams took a while for each other to get a feel for the other team.

At the first media timeout with 13:58 left in the first half the score was Lakeville North 4 and Osseo 2.

It was a defensive battle from the start. Neither team wanted to give up any easy shots.

There was a media timeout with 10:53 left in the first half. The score was Lakeville North 6 and Osseo 5.

The game had a slow pace to it. Both teams took a lot of time off the clock in the first half. Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls and went after rebounds.

It was a defensive battle. Neither team gave up easy shots. Ian Theisen was all over the court.

There was a media timeout with 5:37 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 16 and Lakeville North 9.

At halftime the score was Osseo 23 and Lakeville North16. Osseo shot 8-26 from the field and 3-8 from behind the three-point line. Lakeville North shot 6-25 from the field including going 3-12 from the field.

After approximately seven minutes into the second half Osseo only managed to score 5 points while Lakeville was able to cut the margin to only 3 points by scoring 9 points in that 7 minute stretch.

There was a media timeout with 13:42 left in regulation the score was Osseo 28 and Lakeville North 25.

The score went back and forth throughout the second half. Neither team went on a run in the first half.

Bridgeport Tusler was all over the floor. He was able to get lay-ups in the open drives to the basket.

There was a media timeout with 6:47 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 37 and Lakeville North 35.

The game went down to the wire. The score tied at 47 with 29.9 seconds left to go in the game.

It was a defensive battle but in the end Osseo held on to win the game.

Ian Theisen hit the game winner at the buzzer to win it. 49-47.
