PERHAM TOOK ON LITCHFIELD IN THE STATE CLASS AA SEMIFINALS OF THE MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE STATE BOYS' BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The Perham Yellow Jackets who came into the game with a record of 28-2 took on the Litchfield Dragons in the state semifinals of the Minnesota State High School League.

Both teams looked to get into a shooting rhythm easy on in the game. Both teams took their time shooting the ball and getting into their offense.

At the first media timeout with 14:47 left in the first half the score was Perham 4 and Litchfield 6.

Both of these teams looked confident under pressure. Both of these teams looked to get the ball out of the net and run as they both looked to score baskets in transition.

There was a media timeout with 10:57 left in the first half. The score was Perham 12 Litchfield 8.

Perham got the ball into the hands of Jordan Bruhn. He was all over the defensive end. Bruhn was all over the floor. He was not afraid to get the ball to his teammates if he thought they had a better shot.

In a low scoring first half the score at the 3rd media timeout with 5:38 the score was Perham 18 and Litchfield 17.

Perham kept on pounding the ball inside.

There was a media timeout with 3:52 left in the first half. The score was Perham 20 and Litchfield 19.

Neither team went on a run in a very physically contested game.

The first half the score was Litchfield 21 and Perham 20.

In the first half Perham shot 9-18 from the field that included going 1-5 from behind the three-point line. Litchfield shot 10-22 from the field that included going 1-4 from behind the three-point line.

As the second half got underway both teams kept the intensity at on high. At the first media timeout of the second half, with 14:49 left the score was Perham 25 and Litchfield 23.

Perham played mostly man-to man in the second half.

There was a media timeout with 9:59 left in the game the score was Perham 29 and Litchfield 28.

The score went back and forth throughout the second half. Both teams worked the clock to maximize their possession times.

Perham called a timeout with 3:44 left in the game with the score tied at 31.

Perham went to a zone defense late in the zone late in the game. On the offense end they held the ball to burn time off the clock.

The game came down to the wire. Litchfield held the ball as they wanted to take the last shot. Neither team has made a basket for the last seven minutes of the second half. As time clicked off the shot with the scored still tied, Zach Kinny hit the game winning shot with time expiring Litchfield won the game 33-31.
