MINNEAPOLIS NORTH WENT UP AGAINST WAYZATA IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Minneapolis North and Wayzata went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game. North looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

Wayzata was able to run with North. Wayzata was able to keep up with North in transition.

North called a timeout with 14:32 left in the first half. The score was North 7, Wayzata 3.

Wayzata passed the ball around the 3-point line and was able to get everyone involved in the offense.

They did a good job of communicating.

Wayzata's Brendan Broady was all over the place on the offensive end. He was able to hit mid-range jump shots and layups.

North went to a zone defense. They wanted to make Wayzata take deep 3-point baskets. 


Wayzata was able to get everyone involved in their offense. They did a good job of passing the ball to each other and communicating. Wayzata was able to come up with rebounds on both ends of the floor. 

North called a timeout with 4:12 left in the first half. The score was Wayzata 22, North 13. 

Wayzata’s Austin Slater came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half.

Wayzata was able to move the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

North’s Jamil Jackson took the ball hard to the basket as he looked to make mid-range jump shots and layups. If Jackson didn’t think that he had a good shot he would pass the ball to his teammates.

At halftime the score was Wayzata 30, North 14.

North looked to be more focused in the first half. They took the ball hard to the basket and looked to have more energy and focus.

Wayzata continued to have a lot of energy on the offensive end. They were able to make deep 3- point baskets throughout the second half. 

Wayzata’s Johnny Beeninga, Jack Sowada and Troy Louwagie call came up with layups and jump shots in the second half.

North called a timeout with 14:06 left in the second half. The score was Wayzata 41, North 18. 

Wayzata was able to make fast break layups in the second half. On the defensive end Wayzata was able to slow the North defense down. Their defensive pressure was able to wear the North offense down. 

Wayzata called a timeout with 7:33 left in regulation. The score was Wayzata 54, North 32. 

North took the ball hard to the basket and was able to score on layups. Tyler Johnson and D.J. Hunter were able to hit mid-range jump shots in the second half.

North had trouble hitting shots throughout the game.

Wayzata came away with the 69-37 victory over Minneapolis North.

Scoring for Wayzata were Sowada 13, Slater 11, Beeninga 10, Baumgartner 10, Louwagie 10, Broady 5, Gelinske 3, Miller 2, Lindberg 2, Hlavacek 2, and Goedderz 1 point.

Scoring for North were, Tyler Johnson 11, Hunter 9, J. Jackson 6, Rodgers 5, I. Johnson 4, Matthews 2 points.
