ST. PAUL HIGHLAND PARK WENT UP AGAINST SIOUX FALLS O’GORMAN IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME


St. Paul Highland Park and Sioux Falls O’Gorman went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game. It took Highland Park a while to get used to what Sioux Falls was doing on offense.

O’Gorman used a zone defense in the first quarter. They looked to force Highland Park to take deep shots which they did.

After a quarter of play the score was O’Gorman 16, Highland Park 8.

O’Gorman continued to push the ball down the floor and was able to score baskets in transition.

Even though Highland Park had a difficult time shooting the ball in the first half they attacked the basket and looked for layups.

At halftime the score was O’Gorman 33, Highland Park 15.

As the third quarter got underway O’Gorman continued to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

After three quarters of play the score was O’Gorman 44, Highland Park 19.

Highland Park struggled to shoot the ball throughout the game. O’Gorman took advantage of that as they came up with rebounds and made fast break layups and jump shots.

O’Gorman’s Matt Cartwright came up with mid-range jump shots and layups throughout the game.

O’Gorman came away with the 63-33 victory over Highland Park.

The leading scorers for Highland Park was Dreem Kelly-Jabbar with 6 points.

The leading scores for O’Gorman were Lauer with 18 points and Cartwright with 15 points.
