MILWAUKEE ACADEMY OF SCIENCE WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS NORTH IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 4,  Milwaukee Academy of Science and Minneapolis North squared up against each other in a boys’ basketball game. 

MAS pushed the ball down the floor and looked to score layups in transition. North also looked to get layups in transition. 

The score went back and forth early. There were multiple ties and lead change throughout the first half. 

Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls. 

After a slow start offensively for North, they began to push the ball down the floor and got into their offense. 

North called a timeout with 12:21 left in the first half. The score was MAS 13, North 10. 

MAS was able to score baskets in transition. MAS guard Amani Glosson game up with mid-range jump shots and layups. 

The defensive pressure that MAS was playing made it difficult for North to make their shots. 

North called a timeout with 9:20 left in the first half. The score was MAS 25, North 12.

Both teams looked to make layups in transition. MAS shot a lot of 3-point shots and they were very athletic. 

MAS Darius Hannah came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates were able to get him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

MAS took their time on the time on the offensive end. They were able to get everyone involved in the offense. 

At halftime, the score was MAS 40, North 30. 

As the second half got underway MAS continued to attack the basket and came up with shots. 

North couldn’t make their shots in the second half. Even though they struggled shooting the ball they kept on shooting the ball.

North’s CJ Brown came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He took the ball hard to the basket. 

North called a timeout with 11:35 left in regulation. The score was MAS 56, North 44. 

MAS used their athletic skills and their length to get to the basket and make their shots. 

North came up with steals on the defensive end and looked to turned them into layups on the offensive end.

North continued to attack the basket late in the game. 

MAS called a timeout with 5:24 left in regulation. The score was MAS 60, North 54, 

North’s Jacob Butler came up with big mid-range jump shots and layups late in the game. His teammates were able to get him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

After a slow start by North their offense came together, and they found their shooting rhythm late in the game. 

North called a timeout with 2:19 left in regulation. The score was MAS 65, North 61. 

North continued to move the ball down the floor as they continued to chip away at the lead late in the game.

In a hard-fought physical game MAS came away with the 73-64 victory over North.
