MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO WENT UP AGAINST CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A MEN’S BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 18, Minnesota State Mankato went up against Concordia St. Paul in a men’s basketball game. Minnesota State pushed the ball down the floor early and got into a quick shooting rhythm.

Concordia did a good job of moving the ball down the floor, but they struggled to shoot early. 

Concordia called a timeout with 16:38 left in the first half. The score was Minnesota State 15, Concordia 5. 

Minnesota State moved the ball down the floor early and got everyone involved in the offense. 

There was a media timeout with 14:27 left in the first half. The score was Minnesota State 15, Concordia 11.

Minnesota State’s Ryland Holt came up with mid-range jump shots and layups early. Teammate Kevin Krieger also came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. Corvon Seales came up with deep 3-point shots for Minnesota State. 

Minnesota State wasn’t afraid to shoot deep 3-point shots in the first half. Everyone rebounded the ball. 

Concordia played a zone defense. Minnesota State passed the ball around the 3-point line as they took time off the clock.

There was a media timeout with 8:56 left in the first half. The score was Minnesota State 27, Concordia 17. 

Concordia’s Perion Little came up with deep 3-point shots. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. Little did a good job of coming off screens and getting to the basket. 

Concordia wasn’t afraid to take deep 3-point shots in the first half. Everyone crashed the boards on the floor. 

Seales knew where his teammates were on the floor. He also drove to the basket. If Seals thought that he had an open look at the basket he wasn’t afraid to shoot it. 

There was a media timeout with 2:57 left in the first half. The score was Minnesota State 37, Concordia 22. 

Concordia took their time on the offensive end as they looked for their shots late in the half. Jacob Shields and Cody Carlson came up with mid-range jump shots. 

Minnesota State called a timeout with 44.2 seconds left in the first half. The score was Minnesota State 41, Concordia 22. 

Concordia’s Cody Carlson came up with a slam dunk late in the half. 

At halftime, the score was Minnesota State 43, Concordia 24. 

As the second half got underway both teams started out slow. They both missed shots that they put up and early. 

Concordia attacked the basket and looked for their shots. Even though they kept on struggling to shoot the ball they kept on shooting it. 

Minnesota State continued to come up with layups and jump shots in the second half.  

There was a media timeout with 14:36 left in regulation. The score was Minnesota State 55, Concordia 30. 

Minnesota State took their time on the offensive end as they passed the ball around the 3-point line and took their time on the offensive end. 

Concordia passed the ball around the 3-point line and kept on looking for their shots. 

There was a media timeout with 9:44 left in regulation. The score was Minnesota State 62, Concordia 35. 

Concordia looked to push the ball down the floor and score layups in transition. Even though they struggled to shoot the ball they kept on attacking the basket. 

There was a media timeout with 6:18 left in regulation. The score was Minnesota State 70, Concordia 37. 

Minnesota State kept on attacking the basket late in the contest. They took a lot of time off the clock late in the game. 

There was a media timeout with 4:14 left in regulation. The score was Minnesota State 72, Concordia 47. 

Carlos Barela stepped up and knocked down 3-point shots late in the game.

Concordia called a timeout with 3:34 left in regulation. The score was Minnesota State 73, Concordia 52. 

Both teams took their share of 3-point shots late in the game. 

Concordia struggled shooting the ball throughout the game. Minnesota State was too quick for Concordia. 

Minnesota State came away with the 82-58 victory over Concordia.

The leading scorers for Minnesota State were Holt with 21 points and Willingham with 17 points. 

The leading scorers for Concordia were Carlson with 18 points and Barela with 13 points.
