MINNEAPOLIS DELASALLE WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS NORTH IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 7, Minneapolis DeLaSalle and Minneapolis North went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game. Going into the game DeLaSalle had a record of 6-1 while Minneapolis North had a record of 5-4. 

North won the toss and they started attacking the basket early. They attacked the basket. 

DeLaSalle passed the ball around the 3-point line as they took a lot of time off the clock early. DeLaSalle looked to get the ball into the hands of Jalen Travis. Tavis took 

North called a timeout with 16:13 left in the first half. The score was DeLaSalle 5, North 0.

North struggled shooting the ball early. North didn’t give up how every as they kept on attacking the basket.

DeLaSalle started in a zone defense, that made North must pass the ball around the 3-point line and got everyone involved in the offense. DeLaSalle’s Cade Haskins came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. 

North’s Davon Townley came up with mid-range jump shots and layups midway threw the first half. His teammates were able to get him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. 

DeLaSalle continued to make their shots in the first half. DeLaSalle passed the ball well throughout and if one person on the floor thought that their teammate would have a better chance of making a shot, they would pass it to him for the open shot.

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 8:40 left in the first half. The score was DeLaSalle 21, North 14. 

North’s Mario Sanders II came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. He did a good job of attacking the basket and was able to get past his defenders. 

North looked to push the ball in transition and score baskets in transition. 

DeLaSalle’s Cade Haskins came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He did a good job of calling for the ball and flashing out to get the ball. 

The North’s offense got clicking late in the first half. North continued to get to the basket late in the first half. 

At halftime, the score was DeLaSalle 31 North 23. 

As the second half got underway North continued to push the ball down the floor and get everyone involved in the offense. 

DeLaSalle wasn’t afraid to take deep 3-point shots as well. 

North’s CJ Brown III came up with deep 3-point shots and layups. 

North called a timeout with 15:39 left in regulation. The score was DeLaSalle 35, North. 28. 

North passed the ball to each other more in the second half. They showed a lot more energy in the second half. 

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 12:22 left in regulation. The score was DeLaSalle 39, North 34. 

DeLaSalle attacked the basket in the second half. They made sure that they attacked the basket but got everyone involved in the offense. 

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 9:13 left in regulation. The score was North 42, DeLaSalle 41. 

DeLaSalle swung the ball around the 3-point line trying to keep the ball away from North. 

North fought back throughout the whole game as they kept on attacking the basket late in the game. 

North’s DeMeiko Anderson came up with some big 3-point shots in the second half. 

Both teams looked to take care of the ball and get their shots to drop late in the second half. 

North called a timeout with 3:35 left in regulation. The score was North 50, DeLaSalle. 48. 

As the clock continued to run down both teams ran their offenses and looked for their shots down the stretch. 

Townley kept on making his shows down the stretch.

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 1:07 left in regulation. The score was DeLaSalle 51, North 50.

Both teams continued to attack the basket late in the game. 

North came away with the 52-51 victory over DeLaSalle.

The leading scorers for DeLaSalle were Cade Haskins with 14 points, Jalen Travis with 12 points,
Keijuan White with 10 points. 

The leading scorer for North was Davon Townley with 19 points.
