SHAKOPEE WENT UP AGAINST HOPKINS IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Shakopee and Hopkins went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game. This game was part of the boys’ Tip-Off Classic.

Hopkins looked to push the ball down the floor early. Shakopee also looked to move the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

Shakopee moved the ball down the floor quickly as they were able to make mid-range jump shots and layups.

Hopkins had trouble shooting the ball in the first half. Even though they had trouble shooting the ball they kept on shooting.

Shakopee continued to move the ball down the floor and got everyone involved in the offense.

Hopkins swung the ball around the 3-point line as everyone got involved in the offense. Shakopee used their quickness to get past Hopkins.

Hopkins took a lot of deep 3-point shots. Shakopee got to the basket and made shots late in the first half.

Hopkins kept the game close as they came up with layups late in the first half.


Both teams took a lot of 3-point shots in the second half. The score went back and forth late in the first half.

Shakopee came up with baskets late in the half.

At halftime the score was Shakopee 40, Hopkins 35.

As the second half got underway Shakopee continued to push the ball down the floor and make shots. They were not afraid to shoot deep 3-point shots and go after rebounds.

Shakopee continued to move the ball down the floor and get open looks in transition. Shakopee’s Charlie Katona came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half. Shakopee’s Will Cordes came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half.

Hopkins attacked the basket late in the game. The Shakopee defense made it difficult for Hopkins to come up with baskets throughout the second half.

The Shakopee offense was to much for Hopkins to handle at certain points of the game. Shakopee was able to get to the basket and make their shots. Hopkins had their chances to make shots.

Hopkins got hot with just over 4:00 to go in the game and tied the game at 71-71 with 4:01 left in regulation.

Both teams traded baskets. As Hopkins was able to make shots they put up.

Hopkins called a timeout with 2:47 left in regulation. The score was Hopkins 75, Shakopee 74.

Both teams played hard throughout the game. Shakopee started out hot and was able to come up with shots throughout the game. Hopkins started cold and the defensive pressure that Shakopee applied made it difficult for Hopkins to make plays.

The score went back and forth late in the game.

Hopkins called a timeout with 22.6 seconds left. The score was Shakopee 83, Hopkins 79.

Both teams continued to make plays down the stretch.

Shakopee came away with the 85-82 victory over Hopkins.
