NEW PRAGUE WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On January 3, New Prague went up against Minneapolis Southwest in a boys’ basketball game. The game was played at Southwest High School.

New Prague started the game in a zone defense. Southwest had to swing the ball around the 3-point line to take time off the clock.

New Prague looked to push the ball down the floor and passed the ball around the 3-point line.

It took a while for each team to get into an offensive shooting rhythm.

New Prague passed the ball around the 3-point line as they took a lot of time off the clock on the offensive end.

New Prague called a timeout with 11:19 left in the first half. The score was Southwest 8, New Prague 7.

Southwest went to a full-court press as they wanted to make it difficult for New Prague to make shots.

The defensive pressure that both teams played made it hard for both teams to make open shots.

There were a lot of ties and lead changes throughout the first half.

Southwest called a timeout 3:20 left in the first half. The score was Southwest 13, New Prague 12.

The score continued to go back and forth late in the first half.

At halftime, the score was Southwest 21, New Prague 19.

As the second half got underway both teams continued to attack the basket and come up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

Southwest looked to take their time on the offensive end and get everyone involved in the offense.

Southwest continued to find their offensive rhythm as they came up with shots in the second half.

New Prague called a timeout with 12:41 left in regulation. The score was Southwest 33, New Prague 23.

Southwest looked to score baskets in transition. On the defensive end Southwest was able to slow down New Prague.

Southwest wasn’t afraid to shoot deep 3-point shots. If their deep 3-point shots were not falling, they attempted layups.

Southwest went to a full-court press as they made it difficult for New Prague to get the ball down the floor.

Southwest called a timeout with 6:48 left in regulation. The score was Southwest 39, New Prague 33.

Southwest continued to make shots down the stretch. Even though New Prague struggled shooting the ball throughout the game they kept on shooting the ball.

Southwest passed the ball around the 3-point line and looked for their shot late in the game.

New Prague called a timeout with 3:03 left in regulation. The score was Southwest 51, New Prague 42.

Both teams played hard throughout the game. In the end however Southwest came away with the 56-47 victory over New Prague.
