Ada Borup took on Cedar Mountain in the Class A championship game at the Target Center. Cedar Mountain ran mostly sets to open the game up.
Ada Bourp played man to man defense to start the game out. They wanted to get out on the shooters and they had their hands in the faces of Cedar Mountain player’s faces.
Nicole Smart looked to push the ball up the court when she had the chance. Cedar Mountain had trouble getting back in transition in the first half.
Cedar Mountain had a tough time shooting the ball in the early goings. They were not able to make shots in the first half. Ada Bourp had their shot down in the early goings.
Cedar Mountain also had trouble holding on to the ball as they had turn over problems to start the game out. Everyone on Cedar Mountain had turn over issues.
Ada Bourp counted to push the ball up the court in the first half. Nicole Smart had a solid first half. She was able to get her teammates open.
Cedar Mountain did have problems shooting the ball in the first half. They were also not able to contain Nicole Smart in the first half.
Ada Bourp was able to come out strong in the first half. They looked sharp on both ends of the court. At half time they had a 27-12 lead over Cedar Mountain.
At half time it has been a Nicole Smart show she had 12 points at the break. Nicole Smart had as many points at the whole Cedar Mountain team. For Cedar Mountain turn over’s were the big issue as they committed 12 total team turn over’s in the first half.
As the second half got under way Ada Bourp continued where they left off. They looked aggressive on both ends of the court.
The second half went up and down the court. Ada Bourp was just too much to handle. Nicole Smart played an outstanding game. She led this team to this victory. She had very good court awareness. She knew where her players were supposed to be on the court and she played her game.
In the end Ada-Bourp came away with the 61-21 victory.
Nicole Smart was the leading scorer with a total of 27 points she was also named to the All Tournament team. She will be attending the University of North Dakota next year.
