SECOND QUARTER FINAL GAME PUTS ST CLOUD TECH AGINST WINONA

In the second class AAAA quarter final game it was St Cloud Tech taking on Winona. Both of these teams came out swinging. They each were trading baskets in the first half. St Cloud Tech started playing a solid man to man defense.

St Cloud Tech was able to go on a run mid way through the first half. Each of these teams was playing very competitive in the first half.

The pace of the game was a fast pace both of these teams are getting the ball out of the basket and going hard to the rack.

Nate Woleters from Winona has played a tough good game here. He has really gone after the loose balls he has gotten after it. He has played scrappy on both ends of the court.

There have been many lead changes throughout the game. Each one of these teams continue to go at it.
Midway through the second half there was a long delay. There was some blood on the court that had to be taken care of and they had to find the Target Center maintenance folks to get it taken care of.

Winona has played zone defense for a majority of the game. They have been able to slow St Cloud Tech down.
This has a slow down style of play. Each team is going to make their opponent grind it out. They are not going to get the ball out and run in transition.

Both teams run pretty much of a set offensive. They have set plays that each team has to try to figure out and stop.

There have been a lot of different lead changes and ties in this game. Nate Walters did a good job of playing tough man to man defense throughout the whole game.

This game went up and down the court both of these teams played exceptionally well. This game went down to the wire. St Cloud Tech came away with a 40-39 victory. Nate Wolters was the leading scorer with 17 total points. Alex Minene was the leading scorer for Winona with 13 points.
