MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH'S HILL BREAKS KAITE OHM'S SCORING RECORD FOR THE SECOND TIME AGAIN?

This is from the Minneapolis Star Tribune

Through the first nine minutes of the Twin Cities Championship game Saturday, Minneapolis South and St. Paul Central had played to a 10-10 tie. Then, like so many times in her career, Tayler Hill took over.

Hill connected on three three-pointers to highlight a 15-0 Tigers run over the next five minutes. Up 30-16 at halftime, South's lead grew to as many as 24 in the second half en route to a 60-42 victory.

By the time it was over, Hill had hit seven three-pointers and finished with 31 points. Furthermore, her effort erased questions as to who held the state career scoring record.

South honored her on Feb. 18 as the all-time leading scorer in state history. Further review showed
discrepancies in her career total coming into this season. She passed Gophers player Katie Ohm of Elgin-Millville atop the list. Ohm finished her career with 3,694.

"I'm done with the record stuff," Hill said after the game.

South coach Ahmil Jihad agreed.

"As far as I'm concerned, we did the celebration last week," Jihad said. "It's done."

Individual records aside, South now turns its attention to the Section 6, Class 4A tournament. Seeded No. 2 behind Hopkins on Saturday prior to the game, Jihad said his team needs to prove itself all over again.
"It is what it is," Jihad said. "It's just more incentive for us to get back to work Monday morning [at practice] at six."
