CHANHASSEN WENT UP AGAINST EASTVIEW IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 31 Chanhassen and Eastview squared off in a boys' basketball game. The game was played at Augsburg College.

Eastview pushed the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition. Eastview’s Martin
Mitchell came up with deep 3-point baskets and layups in the first half. The defense had a hard time slowing him down.

Chanhassen looked to take their time of the offensive end. They passed the ball around the 3-point line and everyone touched the ball on offense.

Eastview’s Sean Ryan came up with mid-range jump shots. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it. If he didn’t think that he had a good shot Ryan would pass it to one of his teammates. The defense had a hard time slowing him down.

Eastview came up with steals and were able to make layups off of the steals.

Chanhassen took a timeout with 10:14 left in the first half. The score was Eastview 22, Chanhassen 11.

Chanhassen couldn’t get their offense going early. They took another timeout with 9:42 left in the first half. The was Eastview 24, Chanhassen 11.

Eastview looked to trap Chanhassen and turn them over. Eastview was able to score layups off the turnovers.

Eastview used a zone defense in the first half. They wanted to make Chanhassen take deep 3-point shots.

Eastview called a timeout with 6:11 left in the first half. The score was Eastview 35, Chanhassen 18.

Eastview’s Connor Stevens came up with layups and mid-range jump shots. If he didn’t think that he had a good shot, he would pass it to one of his teammates for an assist.

Eastview continued to make fast break layups late in the first half.

Chanhassen’s Jack Elgren came up with deep 3-point shots late.

At halftime the score was Eastview 47, Chanhassen 34.

As the second half got underway Chanhassen continued to push the ball down the floor and looked to get to the basket.

Elgren kept on coming up with shots in the second half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

Eastview’s Raevon Davis came up with 3-point baskets and layups. On the defensive end he was able to slow down the guy that he was guarding.

Chanhassen stayed in a zone defense in the second half. They did extend the zone defense as they didn’t want Eastview to take 3-point shots.

Ryan kept shooting the ball and coming up with layups and mid-range jump shots. If he thought, he could make 3-point baskets he wouldn’t be afraid to shoot them either.

Eastview called a timeout with 9:05 left in regulation. The score was Eastview 67, Chanhassen 52.

Chanhassen attacked the basket late in the regulation. They looked to come up with steals and layups.

Eastview called a timeout with 7:42 left in regulation. The score was Eastview 70, Chanhassen 56.

Chanhassen made it difficult for Eastview to bring the ball down the floor. They looked to trap the ball in the full court.

Chanhassen’s offense got going late in the game. Elgren, Trey Prince and Mike Witthus all came up with huge mid-range jump shots and layups. They knew were their teammates were on the floor and got everyone involved in the offense.

Eastview called a timeout with 4:07 left in regulation. The score was Eastview 72, Chanhassen 66.

Chanhassen kept the defensive pressure Eastview late in the game. Neither team gave up uncontested shots.

Chanhassen started out slow as they couldn’t hit shots that they put up at the start of the game. As the game went on they were able to hit shots and make stops on the defensive end.

Eastview came away with the 85-76 victory over Chanhassen.

The leading scorers for Eastview were Elgren with 15 and Prince with 14.

The leading scorer for Chanhassen was Ryan with 36 points.
