MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS NORTH IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 22, Minneapolis South went up against Minneapolis North in a boys' basketball game.
 
South looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition early.  
 
Both teams were intense to start out the game.
 
North Patrick Dembley came up with deep 3-point baskets. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
North called a timeout with 15:14 left in the first half. The score was South 6, North 5.
 
North got steals on the defensive end and were able to come up with layups.
 
Neither team went on a run in the first half.
 
South called a timeout with 11:59 left in the first half. The score was North 15, South 10.
 
Tayler Johnson came up with 3-point baskets in the first half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
North did a good job of getting the ball to the basket and coming up with baskets in transition.
 
North’s JaQuan Sanders-Smith came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half.
 
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls and went after loose balls on both ends of the floor.
 
North’s Taylor Johnson came up with rebounds on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end he was able to get layups.
 
At halftime the score was North 41 South 31.
 
As the second half got underway North really started to push the ball down the floor and was able to make open shots.
 
North called a timeout with 16:16 left in regulation. The score was North 49, South 33.
 
Sanders-Smith came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
 
South called a timeout with 14:30 left in regulation. The score was North 57, South 35.
 
North looked to set the tempo in the second half. They were able to make fast break layups and slam dunks.
 
South called a timeout with 12:07 left in regulation. The score was North 58, South 41.
 
North looked to take time off the clock in the second half by swinging the ball around the 3-point line.
 
North was quicker than South was. North was able to come up with steals and layups off of steals,
 
North came away with 103-72 victory over South.
