CHRISTIAN LIFE ACADEMY WENT UP AGAINST HOPE ACADEMY IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Christian Life started in a zone defense as well as Hope Academy. Hope Academy pushed the ball down the floor as they were able to make layups in transition.

Christian Life’s Caleb Wochnick came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. He was able to get past the defenders.

Hope Academy’s Dashon Holcomb came up with layups. He was able to get to the basket and get by the defenders.

Christian Life looked to trap the ball and applied full court pressure. That made it hard for Hope Academy to hit their shots.

Christian Life called a timeout with 9:12 left in the first half. The score was Christian Life 18, Hope Academy 12.

Christian Life attacked the basket and looked to make layups and jump shots. They also did a good job of knocking down 3-point baskets.

The score went back and forth late in the game. Hope came up with steals and were able to convert on the offensive end.

Hope Academy used mostly zone defense in the first half.

Christian Life called a timeout with 4:27 left in the first half. The score was Christian Life 24, Hope Academy 22.

The score went back and forth late in the first half. Neither team went on a run late in the half.

Christian Life came up with some huge baskets late in the half. They got everyone involved in the offense.

Hope’s Nate Elifson came up with 3-point baskets. If he didn’t think that he had a good shot he would pass it to his teammates for a better shot.

At halftime the score was Christian Life 36, Hope Academy 31.

Hope Academy looked to get the ball into the hands of Johnny Erickson, Tobas Griffin and Adonas Sturdivant. They all took the ball to the basket well and were able to come up with mid-range jump shots.

Christian Life’s Caleb Kurz and Wochnick continued to come up with huge mid-range jump shots.

Hope Academy struggled to shoot the ball for a period of time in the second half. Christian Life took advantage of that as they pushed the ball down the floor and came up with layups.

Christian Life called a timeout with 12:52 left in regulation. The score was Christian Life 48, Hope Academy 42.

Griffin came up with fast break layups. He was able to beat the defense down the floor and come up with layups.

Hope Academy got hot from behind the 3-point line. Wochnick was all over the floor. He came up with huge mid-range jump shots and layups.

Both teams got hot from behind the 3-point line as they both stepped up and knocked down deep shots.

Hope Academy called a timeout with 5:12 to go in regulation. The score was tied at 67.

Griffin got hot from behind the 3-point line. He stepped up and nailed shots from behind the arch.

Holcomb came up with some huge layups and mid-range jump shots. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball where he could shoot it.

Hope Academy went to a trapping man-to-man defense late in the game. They came up with steals and layups.

Hope Academy came away with the 87-77 victory over Christian Life.

The leading scorers for Christian Life were Wochnick with 35 points, Kurz with 15 points, and Kolb with 11 points.

The leading scorers for Hope Academy were Griffin with 20 points, Sturdivant with 18 points and Elifson with 17 points.

With that 10-point victory Hope Academy won the EMAC conference title.
