DELASALLE WENT UP AGAINST CRETIN-DERHAM HALL IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

DeLaSalle and Cretin-Derham Hall (CDH) squared off in a boys’ basketball game in front of a sold out gym.  

CDH was able to bring the ball down the floor quickly as they looked to get the ball into the hands of Sam Neumann.

Both teams took a lot of time off the clock in the first half by swinging the ball around the 3-point line.

The score went back and forth early in the first half. DeLaSalle’s defensive pressure didn’t seem to bother CDH.

CDH guard Joe Rosga came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

Newmann was able to attack the basket and come up with mid-range jump shots. If he didn’t think that he had a good look at the basket he wasn’t afraid to pass it to one of his teammates.

The defensive pressure that CDH applied made it difficult for DeLaSalle.

CDH called a timeout with 8:14 left in the first half. The score was CDH 16, DeLaSalle 14.

DeLaSalle’s Sacar Anim came up with a few slam dunks that revved up the crowd.

The score was close throughout the first half. There were many ties and lead changes in the first half.

CDH’s Rosga, Donnell Gresham and Newman all came up with huge baskets in the first half. Those three players were not shy to take the ball to the basket.

CDH called a timeout with 2:26 left in the first half. The score was CDH 27, DeLaSalle 22.

CDH came up with huge layups late in the first half. They were able to slow down the DeLaSalle offense.

At halftime the score was CDH 35, DeLaSalle 22.

As the second half go underway DeLaSalle’s Josh Collins drained a deep 3-point basket to start the second half. Collins also came up with rebounds.

CDH came up with jump shots and layups. They were able to take DeLaSalle out of the game offensively. Even though DeLaSalle had a difficult time shooting the ball they attacked the basket.

DeLaSalle came up with steals and was able to make layups off the steals.

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 12:18 left in regulation. The score was CDH 46, DeLaSalle 37.

CDH looked to take time off the clock on the offensive end. They made DeLaSalle play man-to-man defense.

Anim came up with a two handed slam dunk that gave his team confidence. Teammate Gabe Kalscheur came up with huge mid-range jump shots that went in.

Newmann and Rosga both came up with huge baskets in the game. The defense had a difficult time slowing them down.

CDH did good job of slowing down the DeLaSalle offense. They came up with big shots and turnovers.

CDH kept attacking the basket and looking for their shot was they were able to take a lot of time off the clock.

CDH came away with the 77-65 victory over DeLaSalle.

The leading scorers for DeLaSalle were Anim with 21 points, Johnson with 14 points and Collins with 13 points.

The leading scorers for CDH were Neumann with 24 points and Rosga with 20 points.
