MINNEAPOLIS NORTH WENT UP AGAINST WASHBURN IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 23 North went up against Washburn in a boys’ basketball game. Both teams looked to push the tempo early.

Washburn’s JoBriel Powell came out on fire as he stepped up and knocked down 3-point baskets.

Washburn did a good job of scoring baskets in transition.

North called a timeout with 15:18 left in the first half. The score was Washburn 11, North 4.

North’s Tyler Johnson and Isaac Johnson both came up with shots in the first half. There teammates did a good job of getting them the ball in spots where they could shoot it. Teammate Jamil Jackson came up with huge mid-range jump shots and layups throughout.

Washburn’s Kevin Gleason came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. If he didn’t think that he able to get a good shot he could ball and get the ball to his teammates.

Washburn called a timeout with 11:57 left in the first half. The score was North 16, Washburn.15.

Washburn’s Gleason and Evan Shepherd both stepped up and knocked down mid-range jump shots in the first half.

The score wet back and forth throughout the first half. After a short run by Washburn the score remained close throughout the first half.

Gleason wasn’t afraid to take deep 3-point baskets as he followed his shot and came up with layups.

Washburn called a timeout with 2:22 left in the first half. The score was North 39, Washburn 31.

North swung the ball around the 3-point line to take time off the clock.

At halftime the score was North 43, Washburn 35.

As the second half got underway Washburn continued to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.

Washburn pushed the ball down the floor and was able to come up with baskets in transition.

Washburn did a good job of getting the ball into the hands of Gleason. Gleason was able to get the basket and make layups.

North's Iscaac Johnson continued to come up with deep 3-point baskets in the second half.

North was able to come up with steals and baskets in the second half.

North kept the defensive pressure on them as they came up with steals and layups late in the second half.

North came away with the 91-76 victory over Washburn.

The leading scores for Washburn were Powell with 22 points, and Gleason with 16 points and Evan Shepherd with 14 points.

The leading scorers for North were Jackson with 21 points, and Tyler Johnson with 19 points.
