IN THE CLASS AAA BOYS’ BASEBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME EDEN PRAIRIE TOOK ON BURNSVILLE





In the boys’ state high school league’s Class AAA championship game, Eden Prairie took on Burnsville. The starting pitcher for Eden Prairie was Adam Bray. The starting pitcher for Burnsville was Jacob Threkeld.


Leading off for Eden Prairie was Brian Athey. Brian Athey hit the ball between the pitcher and catcher and he advanced to second base on an error. Tony Skjefte reached first base on an error. Brian Athey advanced to third base. Tyler Peterson got a double and a run scored. Blake Schmidt hit to deep center field. He was out but a run scored. Matt Halloran reached on a walk. Matt Lintner popped out to the second baseman. Tyler Ruemmle hit a single to the left fielder and a run scored. Ryan Bredermeier got hit by the pitch. David Belusky popped out to the third baseman in foul ground.


In the bottom of the first inning Jacob Threkeld flew out to center field. Justin Threkeld flew out to the centerfielder. Brandon Peterson flew out to the right field.


After the first inning the score was Eden Prairie 3 and Burnsville 0.




Leading off the second inning, Brian Athey walked. Tony Skjefete struck out. Tyler Peterson hit a bouncer to the left field. Blake Schmidt hit a long line drive to the centerfield fence and scored two runs. Matt Halloran reached first on a walk. Matt Lintner bounced to the shortstop and the shortstop stepped on second and threw out Matt Lintner at first base.

Matt Stemper led off the bottom of the second inning for Burnsville. Matt Stemper was thrown out at first base. Tom Sherman bounced it to the pitcher who threw him out at first base. Derek Johnson bounced out to the pitcher who threw it over to the first baseman for the final out of the inning.


After two innings the score was Eden Prairie 5 and Burnsville 0.


Tyler Ruemmle got a single and Ryan Bredemeier laid down a bunt and was thrown out at first base. David Belusky hit a bouncer to the second baseman and was thrown out at first base. Brian Athey was thrown out at first base.


In the bottom of the third inning Billy Vermeer lead off the inning Billy Vermer got a single. Brian Vanderwoude walked. Dan Motl laid down a bunt and was thrown out at first base. The runners advanced. Jacob Threlked hit a bouncer to second base and was thrown out at first base. Justin Threlked hit a bouncer to shortstop and a run scored. Brandon Peterson bounced out to the third baseman.


After three innings of play the score was Eden Prairie 5 and Burnsville 2.


In the top of the fourth inning Tony Skjefte flew out to the center fielder. Tyler Peterson flew out to the right fielder. Blake Schmit walked. Matt Halloran popped out to the left fielder in foul ball territory.


Matt Stemper lead off the bottom of the fourth inning with a ground out at first. Tom Sherman got a single. Derek Johnson popped out. Billy Bermeer struck out for the final out of the inning.


After four innings the score was Eden Prairie 5 and Burnsville 2.


Leading off the fifth inning Matt Linter walked. Tyler Ruemmle flew out to the center fielder. Ryan Bredemeier hit a ball to centerfield and for a double. David Belusky hit a single.



Burnsville’s lead runner was out at home plate. David Belusky scored second base. Brain Athey flew out to left field.


In the bottom of the fifth inning Brian Vanderwoude bounced out to the first baseman. Dan Motl popped out to the pitcher in foul grounds. Jacob Therlkeld hit a bouncer to the shortstop and was thrown out at first base.


In the top of the sixth inning Tony Skjefte lead off with a line drive to the centerfielder who made the out. Tyler Peterson bounced a two hopper to the shortstop and the bobbled it. Peterson reached first base on an error. Blake Schmit popped out to the right fielder for the second out of the inning. Tyler Peterson stole second base. Tyler Peterson reached third on a passed ball by the catcher. Matt Halloran lined a bouncer to right field and a run scored. Matt Linter walked. Tyler Ruemmle hit a bouncer to left field and a run scored. Ryan Bredemier flew out to deep right field.


In the bottom of the sixth inning Justin Threlkeld lead off with hit a blooper single to the center field. Brandon Peterson hit a long bomb to left field bleachers for a two run home run. Matt Stemper hit a blooper to the shortstop and was thrown out at first base. Tom Sherman hit a home run over the center field fence. Derek Johnson hit a chopper to third base and was thrown out. Billy Bermeer hit a single.


Connor Hildahl came in to pitch with two outs in the sixth inning for Eden Prairie.


Brain Vanderwoude hit a single. Vanderwoude He was thrown out at first base as he was trying to steal.


After six innings of play the score was Eden Prairie 7 and Burnsville 5.



Leading off the top of the seventh inning David Bulkley was thrown out at first base. Brian Athey reached first base on a walk. Tony Skjefte hit a blooper to the second baseman and reached first base. Tyler Peterson hit a blooper to the pitcher and was thrown out at first base. Blake Schmit hit a long fly ball and the second baseman caught the ball in mid centerfield.


Leading off the seventh inning Dan Motol Was called out of strikes. Jacob Threlkeld hit a fly ball to the centerfielder for the second out. Justin Threlkled hit a single down the left field line. Brandon Peterson hit a long fly ball to get the game.


Eden Prairie came away with the 7-5 victory over Burnsville.


After the game I was able to talk to Eden Prairie’s Brian Athey, Tony Skjefte, and the head Eden Praire coach Mike Halloran. I was also was able to talk to Burnsville’s Brandon Peterson who hit the first high school home run at Target Field.

2010 MSHSL BOYS’ BASEBALL CLASS A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

The Minnesota state high school baseball championship took center stage at Target Field in downtown Minneapolis. This is the opening year for Target Field. Each of the three classes had their quarterfinal and semifinal game at ballparks across the state. Each of the championship games will take place at Target Field the home field of the Minnesota Twins.

In the Class A championship Sebeka took on Eden Valley Watkins.

The starting pitcher for Eden Valley Watkins was Tyler Geislinger. Sebeka’s Brenen Brockphahler led off the game with a walk. Paul Funk hit a bouncer to center field. Brenen Brockphahler reached third on an error by the center fielder. Alex Brockpahler flew out to the third baseman. John Kinnuen got a single and scored Brenen Brockphahler. Cody Pulju hit a double scoring Paul Funk. Taylor Pederson struck out swinging. Travis Titcomb bounced to shortstop then was thrown out at first base.

The starting pitcher for Sebeka was Alex Brockpaher. Leading off for Eden Valley Watkins was Kevin Kramer. He got a single. Dan Sargenet struck out swinging. Matt Geislinger hit a long fly ball to the outfield Kevin Kramer scored but Matt Geislinger was thrown out at second base. Tyler Geislinger struck out.

After one inning of play the score was Sebeka 2 and Eden Valley Watkins 1.

Reid Redetzke lead off the second inning for Sebeka. He was hit in the shoulder by the pitch and he reached first base. Reid Redetzke reached second on a stolen base. Ethan Huttunen struck out swinging. Reid Redetzke reached third base on a balk. Brenen Brockphahler walked. Paul Funk hit a single scoring Reid Redetzke. A run scored on a wild pitch. Alex Brockpahler stuck out. Josh Kinunen walked. A balk advanced the runners a base. Cody Pulju was thrown out at first base.

For Eden Valley Watkins Grant Warren hit a bouncer to third base and was thrown out at first base. Brendan Ashton bounced out short to first. Mitch Geislinger walked. Brandon Walz popped out to the right fielder.

After two innings of play the score was Sebeka 4 and Eden Valley Watkins 1.

Taylor Pederson was called out on strikes. Travis Titcomb hit a bouncer to shortstop and he was thrown out at first base. Reid Redetze flew out to center field.

In the bottom of the third inning Matt singled he advanced on a passed ball. Kevin Kramer hit a double and Ryan Tri got a hit. Kevin Kramer scored on the hit. Dan Sargent flew out to center field. Matt Geisleger flew out. Tyler Geisleger bounced out to the pitcher.

In the top of the fourth inning Ethan Huttunen struck out swinging. Brenen Brockphahler struck out. Paul Funk bounced out second to first base.

For Eden Valley Watkins leading off the bottom of the fourth inning was Grant Warren struck out. Brendan Ashton bounced to the pitcher and was thrown out at first base. Mitch Geislinger popped out to the second baseman.

After four innings of play the score was Sebeka 4 and Eden Valley Watkins 2.

In the top of the fifth Alex Brockphahler was thrown out at first base. Josh Kinnuuen was thrown out at first base. Cody Pulju walked. Taylor Pederson struck out.

In the bottom of the fifth inning Brandon Walz reached on a deep fly ball to left field. Ryan Tri hit a chopper to the left fielder. Kevin Kramer got a single and a run scored. Dan Sargent reached on a hit. Matt Geislinger hit a ball down the left field fence and a run scored. Tyler Geislinger hit a single to left field and scored a run. Grant Warren struck out swinging.

With five innings complete the score was Eden Valley Watkins 5 and Sebeka 4.

Travis Titcomb bounced out to first base. Reid Redetzke bounced out to the shortstop. Ethan Hutunen got an infield single. Brenen Brockphahler struck out swinging.

In the bottom of the fifth inning Brendan Ashton hit a single that bounced off the pitcher’s foot. Mitch Geislinger laid down a bunt and the runner advanced to third base. Brandon Walz got a single and a run scored. Brandon Walz stole second base. Ryan Tri reach first on an error. Ryan Kevin Karmer hit a single and a run scored. Kevin Karmer was thrown out on a stolen base.

Paul Funk led off the top of the seventh inning. Paul Funk had a single. Alex Brockphahler struck out. Josh Kinnuen was thrown out at first base.

Eden Valley Watkins came away the 7-4 victory over Sebeka. After the game I was able to talk to Eden Valley Watkins head coach Mike Tomsche, and players Ryan Tri and Matt Geislinger.

BURNSVILLE TOOK ON COON RAPIDS IN THE CLASS AAA STATE BASEBALL SEMI FINAL GAME

After an 85 minute rain delay Burnsville took on Coon Rapids in the semi final game of the boys’ state class AAA baseball tournament.

Leading off for Burnsville was Jacob Threkeld. Jacob Threkld bounced to first. Justin Threkeld was thrown out at first base. Brandon Peterson was thrown out at first base. Matt Stemper struck out.

Leading of Coon Rapids was Tony Remund bounced out to the second baseman who threw it to the first baseman for the out. Sam Smith hit it to the second baseman and was thrown out at first base. Logan Shore struck out swinging.

After one inning of play the score was tied at 0.

Tom Sherman led off the second inning for Burnsville. Tom struck out. Derek Johnson reached first base on catcher interference. Derek Johnson was thrown out at second base. Billy Vermeer was called out on strikes.
In the bottom of the second inning Jeremy Oakley was thrown out at first base. Joe Brinda hit a line shot to left field for a stand up double. Luke Hite was thrown out at first base. Corbin Matasovsky hit a chopper to the short stop and was thrown out at first base.

After two innings the score was tied at 0.

In the top of the third inning Brian Vanderwoude hit a line shot out to right center field for a single. Dan Motl hit it to the first baseman who stepped on the bag for the out. Jacob Threkeld hit a grounder to centerfield for a base hit. Justin Threkeld hit a double that scored two runs. Brandon Peterson was called out on strikes. Matt Stemper was thrown out at first base.

Brandon Flippen led off the bottom of the third inning for Coon Rapids chopped a ball to the short stop and was thrown out at first base. Brady Driste got a single out to left field. Tony Remund struck out. Brady Driste was able to advance to second on the strike out. Brady Driste advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Sam Smith hit a single to left field. Brady Driste scored on the play. Logan Shore flew out to left field for the final out of the inning.

At the end of the third inning the score was Burnsville 2 and Coon Rapids 1.

To start off the fourth inning Tom Sherman struck out swinging. Derek Johnson bounced out to first base. Billy Vermeer hit a liner out to right field for a single. Brian Vermeer popped out to left field. Jeremy Oakley stuck out swinging. Joe Brinda was thrown out at first base. Luke Hite was walked. Corbin Matasovsky scored on an error on the pitcher. The pitcher came over and tried to get to first base and was not able to get there in time. Brandon Flippen was thrown out at first base.

With four innings complete the score was Burnsville 2 and Coon Rapids 1.

Dan Motl led off the fifth inning for Burnsville and was called on strikes. He thought that that he was going to be walked but he was called out. Jacob Threkeld hit the ball directly to the pitcher and was thrown out at first base. Justin Threkeld grounded out to the shortstop who threw him out at first base.

In the bottom of the fifth inning Brady Driste struck out. Tony Remund reached on a four-pitch walk. Sam Smith flew out to the leftfield. Logan Shore singled Jermy Oakley got a triple and Joe Brinda flew out.

Burnsville lead off the sixth inning Brandon Peterson got a single to centerfield to start off the inning. Matt Stemper bounced out to the pitcher who threw him out at first. Tom Sherman got a single and Brandon Peterson scored on an error.

Will Heiser came into pitch with one out in the sixth inning for Coon Rapids.

Derek Johnson for Burnsville stuck out. Billy Vermeer flew out to center field.

In the bottom of the sixth inning Luke Hite flew out to center field. Josh Jensen was called out on strikes. Will Heiser was called out on strikes.

After six complete innings the score is tied at 3.

Brian Vanderwoude was thrown out at first base. Dan Motl walked. Jacob Threkeld hit a deep ball to right field and Dan Motl was able to score on the play. Justin Threkeld hit double then advanced to third on a throwing error. Brandon Peterson scored. Matt Stemper hit a chopper to the shortstop and was thrown out at first base.
In the bottom of the seventh inning Brady Driste led things off who was thrown out at first base. Tony Remund flew out to deep left field. Sam Smith hit a single. Logan Shore hit a single to right field. Jeremy Oakley hit it to the short stop and he stepped on second base for the final up of the game.

Burnsville was able to come away with the 5-3 victory over Coon Rapids.

IN THE CLASS AAA STATE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL GAME EDEN PRAIRIE TOOK ON FOREST LAKE

The starting pitcher for Eden Prairie was Adam Bray. The starting pitcher for Forest Lake was Parker Winning.
Eden Prairie’s Brian Athey led off the game with a walk. Tony Skjefte struck out swinging. Tyler Peterson hit a grounder to left field. Blake Schmit popped out to the first baseman. Matt Halloran hit a single that scored Brian Athey. Jake Tharaldson came in and ran for Matt Halloran. Matt Lintner popped out to right field for the final out of the inning.


In the bottom on the first inning CJ Franklin led off for Forest Lake. CJ Franklin flew out to the centerfielder.

Matt Schmidt was thrown out at first base. Zach Riedeman popped out to the shortstop.

After the first inning the score was Eden Prairie 1 and Forest Lake 0.

Tyler Ruemmele led off the second for Eden Prairie. He struck out swinging. Ryan Bredemeier flew out to the centerfielder. David Belusky walked. David Belusky reached second base on a passed ball. Brian Athey walked. Tony Skjefte struck out looking a called third strike.

In the bottom of the second inning AJ Nielsen led off the inning with a hit a ground ball up the center of the field. Beau Fandel struck out. Ben Norling popped out to the second baseman. Mike Dykema was thrown out at first base.

After two innings the score was Eden Prairie 1 and Forest Lake 0.

Tyler Peterson led off the third inning for Eden Prairie he popped out to the shortstop for the first out of the
inning. Blake Schmit popped out to the shortstop made a diving catch. Matt Lintner hit a double to the left field fence. Tyler Ruemmele flew out to right field.

In the bottom of the third inning Luke Schultz was thrown out at first base. Troy Manning was thrown out at first base. CJ Franklin reached first base on a hit. CJ Franklin was thrown out trying to steal second base.

At the end of the third inning the score was Eden Prairie 1 and Forest Lake 0.

In the top of the fourth inning Ryan Bredemeier flew out to the left fielder. David Belusky hit a bouncer to left field. David Belusky stole second base. Brian Athey hit a long fly ball and a run scored. Tony Skjefte hit a bouncer to right field and Tyler Peterson flew out to second base. Blake Schmit flew out to center field.

For Forest Lake in the bottom of the fourth inning Matt Schmidt grounded out to the first baseman. Zach Riedeman reached on an error on the third inning. AJ Nielsen struck out. Zach Riedeman was picked off at second.

After four innings of play the score was Eden Prarie 2 Forest Lake 0.

For Eden Prairie Matt Halloran walked. Matt Lintner hit a double scoring Matt Halloran. Forest Lake changed their pitcher. Phil Sauer came in and pitched. Tyler Rummele got a single. Ryan Bredemeier walked to load the bases. David Belusky hit a single scoring two runs. Matt Jellum came in and pitched for Forest Lake. Brian Athey laid down a bunt and was thrown out at first. Tony Skjefete got a single and scored two runs. Tyler Peterson flew out to right field. Blake Schmit flew out to the third baseman in foul territory.

In the bottom of the fifth Beau grounded out to the second baseman and was thrown out at first base. Ben Norling popped out to the catcher. Mike Dykema flew out to the centerfielder.

After five innings of play the score was Eden Prairie 7 and Forest Lake 0.

Matt Halloran hit a double to deep centerfield. Matt Lintner was thrown out at first on a check swing. Matt Halloran reached third on the play. Tyler Rummele got a double and a run scored. Rummele was replaced on the base paths by Chris Knoff. Ryan Bredemreier got a single. David Belusky walked to load the bases.

Matt Hultgren came in to pitch for Forest Lake.

Brian Athey got a double and scored a run. Tony Skjefte was thrown out at first base but a runner scored on the play. James Freiberg reached on an error. Lance Thonvold was thrown out at first base.

Connor Hildahl came into pitch for Eden Prairie.

Eden Prairie won the game by the score of 12-0.

BURNSVILLE TOOK ON BRAINERD IN THE CLASS AAA QUARTERFINAL STATE BOYS’ BASEBALL GAME

In the second Class AAA state boys’ baseball state tournament game Burnsville took on Brainerd. The starting pitcher for Burnsville was Brandon Peterson and for Brainerd their starting pitcher was Kyle Crocker. Brainerd had a record of 20-4 and Burnsville had a record of 19-5.

Leading off the game for Brainerd was Kyle Crocker. Crocker flew out. Joel Martin bounced to the second baseman and was thrown out at first base. Tate Rusk was caught looking at the third strike.

Jacob Threkeld flew out to the first baseman in foul territory. Justin Therkeld flew out to left fielder. Brandon Peterson struck out.

In the top of the second inning Thomas Fairbanks flew out to the first baseman. Reid Mimmack struck out. Brett Jenkins struck out looking.

In the bottom of the second inning Matt Stemper lined out to the right fielder. Tom Sherman ripped a grounder to the centerfielder for a single. Tom Sherman was thrown out trying to steal second base. Derek Johnson struck out.

After two innings the score was 0-0.

In the top of the third inning Ethan Nichols hit a grounder to the shortstop and was thrown out at first base. Jack Hegarty was walked. Alex Rohde walked. Kyle Crocker hit a grounder to the centerfielder. Jack Hegarty scored on the play. Joel Martin struck out swinging. Tate Rusk bounced out to the shortstop.

In the bottom of the third inning Billy Vermeer led off the inning with a hit and a double down the left field line. Brian Vanderwoude hit a bouncer to the third baseman who threw him out at first base. But Billy Vanderwoude advanced. Dan Motl popped out. Jacob Threkeld was thrown out at first base.

Thomas Fairbanks hit a single to left field. Reid Mimmack laid down a bunt but was thrown out at first base. Reid Mimmack got a double. Brett Jenkins was thrown out at first base. Ethan Nichols hit a grounder to the shortstop and was thrown out at first base.

In the bottom of the fourth inning Justin Threkeld popped out to the leftfielder. Brandon Peterson hit a liner up the middle of the field for a single. Matt Stemper hit a single that dropped into short centerfield. Tom Sherman grounded into a double play to end the inning.

After four innings the score was Brainerd 1 and Burnsville 0.

Jack Hegarty walked. Alex Rohde laid down a bunt and the pitcher threw him out at first base. Kyle Crocker hit a liner to right field scoring Jack Hegarty. Joel Martin struck out swinging. Tate Rusk popped out to the first baseman for the final out of the inning.

With six innings complete the score was Burnsville 4 and Brainerd 2.

In the top of the seventh inning Ethan Nichols led off the inning for Brainerd and he hit a double. Jack Hegarty hit a bouncer to right center field. Alex Rohde hit a three run home run over the left field fence. The ball went 353 total feet. Kyle Crocker flew out to the centerfielder. Kevin Peterson was thrown out at first base. Tate Rusk flew out to left field.

In the bottom of the seventh inning Dan Motl was hit and advanced to first base. Jacob Threkeld flew out to the pitcher. Justin Threkeld hit a bouncer to left field. The runners advanced on a pass ball. Brandon Peterson was walked to load the bases. Matt Stemper flew out to right field Dan Motl scored Tom Sherman was walked Derek Johnson got a single and scored the winning run.

Burnsville came away with the 6-5 victory over Brainerd.

EDEN PRAIRIE TOOK ON ROCHESTER MAYO IN THE CLASS AAA QUARTERFINAL GAME OF THE STATE BOYS’ BASEBALL TOURNAMENT

The Eden Prairie Eagles took on the Rochester Mayo Spartans in the class AAA quarterfinal game of the state baseball tournament. Rochester came into the game with a 16-8 record while Eden Prairie came in with a 23-1 record.

The starting pitcher for Eden Prairie was Grant Soderberg and for Rochester Mayo was Brandon Zywicki.

To lead off the game in the top of the first was Eden Prairie’s Brian Athey. Athey popped out to the right fielder for the first out of the inning. Tony Skjefete grounded out to first base. Tyler Peterson hit a grounder to left field. Blake Schmit hit a single to right field. Tyler Peterson advanced to third base. Matt Halloran hit a single to right field to score Tyler Peterson. Jake Tharaldson took for Matt Halloran on first base. Matt Linter was thrown out at first base.

In the bottom of the first inning leading off for Rochester was Kyle VanWettering. He grounded to left field for a single. Steve Serratore hit a bouncer up the middle for a single. Paul McManus came in to run for Steve Serratore. Matt Stubbs flew out to right field. Neither runner advanced on the play. Ben O’Reilly struck out swinging. Rannon Arch bounced out second to first.

At the end of the first inning the score was Eden Prairie 1 and Rochester Mayo 0.

In the top of the second inning Tyler Rummele lead off the inning he was thrown out at first base. Ryan Bredemier flew out to left field. David Belusky got a single to right field. Brain Athey hit a liner to center field. Belusky advanced to third base. Tony Skjefte struck out swinging for the third out of the inning.

In the bottom of the second Jordan Ziegler led off the inning for Rochester Mayo. Jordan Ziegler popped out to the second baseman. Lance Dozier hit a bouncer to second base and was thrown out at first base. Evan Morris got a single. Derek McMasters flew out to right field for the third out of the inning.

At the end of the second inning the score was Eden Prairie 1 and Rochester Mayo 0.

Before the inning got going Rochester Mayo’s Ben O Reilly was tended to by medical personnel. Tyler Petterson led off the inning for Eden Prairie. Petterson then struck out. Blake Schmit reached on an error. Matt Halloran walked and that advanced Blake Schmit. Jake Tharaldson replaced Matt Halloran on the bases. Matt Lintner hit a sacrifice single and Blake Schmit was thrown out at third. Tyler Reummele hit a single and scored. Ryan Bredemeier hit a singled and scored a runner. David Beluske flew out to second base.

In the bottom of the third inning Kyle VanWettering walked. Steve Serratore hit a double to left center field and it scored Kyle VanWettering. Paul McManus came in and ran for Steve Serratore. Matt Stubbs hit a home run over the left field fence. His home run was 331 feet. After the home run Eden Prairie’s coach held a meeting at the mound for all of his infielders. Ben O’Reilly struck out. Brandon Arch hit a bouncer to the second baseman and was thrown out at first base. Jordan Ziegler reached on a base hit. The ball got stuck in the shortstop’s glove. Lance Dozier hit a single to left centerfield scoring a run. Evan Morris walked. Derek McMasters walked to load the bases. With the bases loaded and two outs Lance Thonvold replaced Grant Soderberg on the pitcher’s mound for Eden Prairie. Grand Soderburg went two and two thirds innings. Kyle VanWettering was thrown out at first base.

At the end of three innings the score was Rochester Mayo 4 and Eden Prairie 3.

Leading off the top of the fourth inning was Brain Athey for Eden Prairie and he struck out swinging. Tony Skjefte hit a single right up the middle of the field. Tyler Peterson got a base hit on a pop fly to the outfield. Blake Schmit reached first base on a fielder’s choice. A runner scored on a pass ball. Matt Halloron hit a double. Jake Tharaldson replaced Matt Halloronan on the bases. Matt Lintner was hit by the pitch. Tyler Ruemmele got a hit and there was an error and on the error a run scored. Ryan Brememier flew out to center fielder and Matt Halloronan scored on the play. There was a wild pitch and the runner advanced to third base. David Belusky was thrown out at first base.

In the bottom of the fourth inning Steve Serratore bounced out to first base. Matt Stubbs hit a single up the middle of the field. Ben O’Reilly hit a single to left field. Ben O’Reilly was picked off at first base. Rannon Arch stuck out looking.

At the end of the fourth inning the score was Eden Prairie 8 and Rochester Mayo 4. Tyler Essig came into pitch for Rochester in the top of the fifth inning.

Leading off the fifth inning for Eden Prairie was Brian Athey. Brian Athey hit a bouncer to left field. Tony Skjefte got a single. The ball got lost in the sun. Tyler Peterson got a single. Blake Schmit flew out to center field. Brian Athey scored on the play. Matt Halloran flew out to left field. That scored a run. Matt Lintner struck out.

In the bottom of the fifth inning Jordan Ziegler struck out swinging. Lance Dozier hit a single to center field. Evan Morris hit a bouncer to shortstop and he was thrown out at first base. Derek McMasters flew out to the pitcher for the third out of the inning.

Through five innings of play the score was Eden Prairie 10 and Rochester Mayo 4.

In the top of the sixth Tyler Ruemmele struck out swinging. Ryan Bredemier flew out to left field. David Belusky hit a single to the right field. David Belusky stole second base. Brian Athey hit a long fly ball to the right fielder for the third out of the inning.

Kyle VanWettering bounced out to the third baseman who threw him out at first. Steve Serratore flew out to the first baseman. Matt Stubbs hit a liner to centerfield. Ben O’Reilly hit a bouncer to the shortstop and was thrown out at first base.

Through six complete innings the score was Eden Prairie 10 and Rochester Mayo 4.

Leading off the seven inning for Eden Prairie was Tony Skjefte who he led off the inning with a 343 foot solo home run to left field. Tyler Peterson hit a grounder to left field. Chris Knoff came in and ran for Tyler Peterson.

Rannon Arch came in and pitched for Rochester Mayo.

Blake Schmit hit a high pop fly and was caught by the second baseman in shallow right field. Matt Halloran stuck out. Matt Lintner hit a single. Tyler Ruemmele struck out swinging.

In the bottom of the seventh inning Dylan Hesse led off and he struck out. Jordan Ziegler struck out. Lance Dozier reached on a base hit. Evan Morris flew out to center field to end the game.

Eden Prairie came away with the 11-4 victory over Rochester Mayo in the class AAA quarterfinal game.
