JUDSON UNIVERSITY TOOK ON CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY IN A MEN'S BASKETBALL GAME

Judson University took on Concordia St. Paul in a men's basketball game. Judson came into the game with a record of 1-4. This was the first non-conference game for Concordia St. Paul.

Concordia looked to set the tempo of the game from the start. They looked to push the ball down the court and score quick baskets in transition.

Judson started the game out in a 2-3 zone defense. They looked to get Concordia to spread the floor out and take long shots.

Concordia's Kenny Olafeso made some nice drives to the basket. He was able to score easy baskets in transition. When he was in trouble he could find his twin brother Peter and Peter would get the easy basket.

Both teams did a good job of getting the ball out of the net and getting the ball the other direction.

Concordia was not afraid to shoot the three-point basket. They were successful in the first half of making their three-point shots.

At the 9:56 media timeout the score Concordia St. Paul 24 and Judson University 14.

Concordia went to a full court press. They looked to bother the Judson guards.

Judson guard Landon Skinner did a good job of getting the ball down the court. He was able to get past the pressure the Concordia guards were putting on them.

Judson University called a timeout with 6:51 left in the first half. The score was Concordia St. Paul 30 and Judson University 19.

Concordia St. Paul's Isaiah Thomas was all over the floor. On the defensive end he was able to slow down his man.

Concordia University called a timeout with 3:41 left in the first half. The score was Concordia St. Paul 32 and Judson University 26.

Judson University went on a run to end the half.

At halftime the score was Concordia St. Paul 43 and Judson University 31.

Judson University got the ball to start the second half. They looked to get an offensive swing into their favor.

The Judson University guards looked to get quick shots off of dribble penetration early in the half. They didn't want to waste much time on the clock.

Terez Wayne Van Pelt came up with some nice baskets midway through the second half.

Judson University did a good job of going between zone and man-to-man defense. They were able to get with in 10 points of Concordia.

Both teams did a good job of using the clock in their favor.

Judson University hung with Concordia they didn't back down throughout the game.

Judson University called a timeout with 6:29 remaining. The score was Concordia St. Paul 68 and Judson University 60.

Concordia St. Paul continued to attack the glass on both ends of the floor. Peter Olafeso continued to knock down thee-point shots.

Judson University called a timeout with 4:43 left in regulation. The score was Concordia St. Paul 75 and Judson 62.

Concordia St. Paul was able to come away with the 87-73 victory over Judson University.

The leading scorers for Judson University were Josh Edwards with 25 points and Adam Hodge with 16 points. They shot 30-67 from the field that included going 7-22 from behind the three-point line. They shot 6-6 from the free throw line. Judson was also able to grab 29 defensive rebounds with a total of 38 rebounds.

The leading scorers for Concordia St. Paul were Peter Olafeso with 20 points, Kenny Olafeso with 19 points, Brent Bartz with 12 points, and Terez Wayne Van Pelt and Cole Olstad with 10 points each. Concordia shot 32-67 from the field that included going 7-16 from behind the three-point line. They shot 16-20 from the free throw line. Concordia was able to snag 28 defensive rebounds with a total of 35 total rebounds.

ST. MARY'S UNIVERSITY TOOK ON CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A MEN'S BASKETBALL EXHIBITION GAME

St. Mary's University from Winona, Minnesota took on Concordia St. Paul for an exhibition men's basketball game.

Concordia started out in a man-to-man defense. Both teams found their shots early on. The score went back and forth in the early goings.

St. Mary's looked to get the ball into LaMonte Hall's hands. LaMonte Hall did a good job of getting his teammates involved in the offense.

Concordia looked to get the ball into the hands of Terez Wayne VanPelt. He did a good job of getting his teammates involved in the offense.

St. Mary's went to a zone defense. They looked to spread Concordia out.

Concordia called a timeout with 14:41 left in the first half. The score was St. Mary's 20 and Concordia 15.

Zach Richard Towle found his three-point shot. He was afraid to shoot the ball from any where on the floor.

Pat Freeman for St. Mary's did a good job of shooting the ball. He was able to make shots from mostly inside the three-point line.

Concordia went to a full court press. They wanted to make it as hard as possible for St. Mary's to hit their shots.

St. Mary's called a timeout with 10:58 left in the first half. The score was Concordia St. Paul 28 and St. Mary's 27.

Concordia stayed in a zone defense. Concordia made it hard for St. Mary's to shoot the ball.

The Concordia guards did a job of getting the ball down the court as quickly as they could.

At 8:08 left in the first half there was a media timeout. The score was Concordia 38 and St. Mary's 29.

Concordia went on a run midway through the first half. St. Mary's did not give up. Concordia was able to hit all of their shots that they were put up. They were hitting on layups and jump shots.

St. Mary's called a timeout with 3:43 left in the first half. The score was Concordia 50 and St. Mary's 34.

Concordia continued to look to hit their shots and take as much time off the clock as they could.

At halftime the score was Concordia 56 and St. Mary's 41.

Concordia got the ball to start the second half. Terez Wayne VanPelt hit a nice little jumper at the top of the key for the first basket of the second half.

Concordia started the second half in a zone defense. They were able to slow down St. Mary's on the offensive end.

Concordia was able to make as many layups as they wanted to. St. Mary's tried to guard the open man but Concordia was still able to hit shots.

St. Mary's called a timeout with 15:50 left in regulation. The score was Concordia 70 and St. Mary's 48.

Kenny Olafeso did a good job of making his layups. He always knew where he was going on the floor and was able to communicate that to his teammates.

Isaiah Thomas for Concordia found his midrange  jump shot. He was not afraid to shoot it.

Concordia stepped outside of the three-point line and they were successful at knocking down three-point shots midway through the second half.

St. Mary's called a timeout with 7:24 left in regulation with the score Concordia 98 and St. Mary's 63.

Concordia with the game well in hand continued to shoot the ball well late in the contest. I though that both teams fought hard. St. Mary's was not able to hit their shots and Concordia was too strong for them.

Concordia came away with the 115-75 victory over St. Mary's University. The leading scorers for St. Mary's were Pat Freeman with 27 points and Michael with 18 points. They shot 28-63 from the field that included going 9-16 from behind the three-point line.

The leading scorers for Concordia were Kenny Olafeso with 23 points Terez Wayne VanPelt with 22 points and Cole Olstad with 18 points. They shot 47-72 from the field that included going 9-24 from behind the three-point line.

ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY TOOK ON CONCORDIA ST PAUL IN A MEN'S BASKETBALL EXHIBITION GAME

St. John's University traveled to St. Paul Minnesota for a men's basketball exhibition game at the Gangelhoff Center on the campus of Concordia University St. Paul.

Concordia won the tip. Both teams started out the game trying to figure out what the other was going to do.

St. John's started out in a zone defense. They wanted to slow down the Concordia offense.

Concordia wanted to get the ball into the hands of Terez Wayne VanPelt. He led an up tempo offense.

The score went back and forth throughout the early goings of the game. Kenny Olafeso was able to drive to the basket and was fouled and made the free throw attempt.

Kenny and Peter Olafeso both did a good job of shooting the ball. Their teammates did a good job of getting the ball into their hands.

St. John's had a hard time hitting shots in the first half. They didn't get down on themselves as they kept shooting the ball.

St. John's went to a full court zone defense. They looked to trap and force Concordia into the corners. They were able to do a good job of that.

St. John's went on a run midway through the first half. There was nothing that Concordia could do. Concordia did  however keep control of their composure.

St. John's called a timeout with 9:43 left in the first half. The score was Concordia St. Paul 16 and St. John's 10.

St. John's did a good job of slowing down the Concordia offense.

Isaiah Thomas for Concordia was able to step back from behind the three-point line and knock down some deep three-point shots.

Zach Richard Towle for Concordia was also able to step back behind the three-point line and drop some three-point shots.

Concordia went to a trapping defense and St. John’s had trouble handling the pressure.

Concordia called a timeout with 2:41 left in the first half. The score was Concordia St. Paul 35 and St. John's 19.

Concordia kept on running their plays and were able to make easy baskets down the stretch.

At halftime the score was Concordia St. Paul 42 and St. John's 21.

St. John's started with the ball to open the second half. Concordia started out in a zone defense. 

Kevin McKenzie made some nice moves to the basket for St. John's. The St. .John's players didn't back down they kept on playing hard and attacking the basket. They really were smart with the ball and didn't back down coming out of the halftime break.

Peter Olafeso continued to step up and knock down shots. If Peter was to get into trouble his teammates were always around to get the pass to get him out of the jam.

With 9:34 left in regulation there was a media timeout. The score was Concordia St. Paul 60 and St. John's 39.

Concordia continued to do a good job of scoring baskets in transition. Whenever they had a chance they would get it into the hands of their guards and they would bring it down the court.

St. John's swung the ball around the three-point arch. They looked to get the ball into their post players if he was not available they would try to dribble it past the Concordia St. Paul defenders.

Concordia St. Paul led for all of the game. St. John's didn't back down as they fought hard throughout the whole game. I thought that everyone played well for Concordia. Peter and Kenny Olafeso fed off of each other’s intensity. I thought Terez Wayne VanPelt looked good on the floor when they were out there. Isaiah Thomas provided an offensive spark when his team needed it.

St. John's had a hard time making their shots. They were not able to handle the physical play of Concordia.

Concordia St. Paul came away with the 76-51 victory over St. John’s.

St. John's was led in scoring by Seth Marx with 8 points. They shot 19-59 from the field and that included going 3-14 from behind the three-point line. St. John's was 10-17 from the free throw line.

Concordia St. Paul was lead in scoring by Peter Olafeso with 23 points and Kenny Olafeso who had 11 points. They shot 28-55 from the field and that included going 6-18 from behind the three-point line. Concordia St. Paul was 14-21 from the free throw line.

IRONDALE TOOK ON OSSEO IN A REGIONAL BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

Irondale took on Osseo at Rogers High School in the Region 5AAAA boys' basketball game.
 
Osseo looked to set a quick tempo to the game from the start. They passed the ball around the threepoint line to take as much time off the clock as they could.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run in the early goings.
 
Irondale's Bryan Sprang came out on fire. Sprang scored the first nine points for Irondale. On the
defensive end he played tough defense.
 
Irondale tied the game up at 12 points with 8:30 in the first.
 
Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld stepped up and was able to knock down his free throws.
 
Osseo did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. Everyone on the court touched the
ball before they shot it. Osseo mostly used a motion offense. There was a lot of movement by everyone
on the court.
 
The first half scoring went back and forth. The shooting of Bryan Sprang kept Irondale in the game.
 
At halftime the score was Irondale 31 Osseo 28.
 
Irondale started the second half in a zone defense. They mostly used zone in the first half. Irondale
didn't back down to Osseo’s pressure.
 
Neither team went on a run. The defense pressure that each team applied was very tough by each team.
 
The game was very physical. Both teams dove on the ground after loose balls.
 
Osseo's DJ Hebert was all over the court. He took the ball hard to the basket on the offensive end.
 
The score was close throughout the second half. Neither team went on a run in the second half.
 
Irondale called a timeout with 7:50 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 46 and Irondale 41.
 
VanPelt continued to take the ball strong to the basket. He was not afraid to draw contact. On the
defensive end VanPelt was able to slow down his man.
 
Osseo pulled away late in the contest. They were able to come way with the 66-56 victory over
Irondale.
 
The leading scorer for Irondale was Bryan Sprang with 39.The leading scorers for Osseo were Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld with 26 points and Terez Wayne VanPelt with 20 points.

PARK CENTER TOOK ON OSSEO IN A QUARTERFINAL BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

Park Center traveled to Osseo for the Region 5 Class AAAA quarterfinal basketball game.
 
Osseo started the game out in a man-to-man defense. They looked to apply as much pressure on Park
Center as they could.
 
Both teams had a hard time getting their offensive going. Neither team could make a shot.
 
Osseo looked to take their time on the offensive end.
 
Park Center mostly used a zone defense. They looked to slow Osseo down when they had the ball.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 10:39 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 6 and Park Center 5.
 
Park Center looked to get the ball into the hands of Quinton Lee Hooker. Hooker was all over the court.
 
He knew where his teammates were on the court. He did a good job of getting them involved in the
plays.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team was able to go on a run.
 
Hooker was able to drive to the basket uncontested. He was able to knock down some shots that kept
Park Center in the game.
 
Osseo switched between zone and man-to-man defense. That confused Park Center.
 
Park Center didn’t back down to the Osseo’s pressure. They kept on fighting back.
 
Park Center called a timeout with 1:14 left in the half. The score was Osseo 18 and Park Center 16.
 
Osseo wanted to control the tempo on the last play and go on a run to end the half.
 
In a low scoring first half, the halftime the score was Osseo 25 and Park Center 16.
 
As the second half got underway Osseo came out on fire. They were able to hit their shots that they
were putting up.
 
Park Center had a hard time making their shots.
 
Park Center called a timeout with 16:16 left in regulation with the score Osseo 30 and Park Center 21.
 
Park Center continued to look for Hooker. After that timeout Park Center went on a run.
 
Osseo still continued to look to push the ball down the court. They were also able to score baskets in
transition.
 
Osseo's Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld found his shot in the second half. Osseo also looked to get Darren
James Herbert the ball. Herbert took the ball strong to the basket and was able to sink some of his
shots.
 
Osseo went into their motion offense. They had a lot of movement with the basketball. Whoever had an
open shot was free to shoot the ball.
 
Park Center didn't back down. They kept fighting throughout the half. They got the score within 10 at
43-33 with 7:57 left to go.
 
Hooker let the ball fly from anywhere on the court. He was on from anywhere on the court. Herbert and
Hooker guarded each other.
 
Osseo took a timeout with 6:25 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 45 and Park Center 35.
 
Park Center made a late run with 6:00 left in the half. They looked to cut into the lead.
 
VanPelt got the ball and he was able to create a good pass to Sonnenfeld. Sonnenfeld finished the play.
 
VanPelt did a good job of getting the ball to teammates who were open.
 
Park Center trapped Osseo and that gave Osseo some problems. Osseo called a timeout with 2:13 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 53 and Park Center 39.
 
Osseo continued to take as much time off the clock as they could on the offensive end.
 
Osseo came away with the 57-43 quarterfinal victory over Park Center.
 
Osseo was lead in scoring by DJ Herbert with 17 points, Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld with 14 points and
 
Terez Wayne VanPelt with 13 points. Park Center was lead in scoring by Quinton Lee Hooker with 17
points and Kevin Handy with 11 points.

#10 CHAMPLIN PARK TOOK ON #2 OSSEO IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL CONTEST

The Champlin Park Rebels took on the Osseo Orioles in a boys' basketball game at Osseo. Coming into the game Champlin Park had a record of 18-3 overall and 14-2 in the conference. They were ranked #10 in the state in Class AAAA. Osseo had a record of 21-2 overall and were 16-1 in the conference.
 
Champlin Park started the game out in a man-to-man defense. They wanted to try to get Osseo out of
rhythm. That didn't work however. Osseo was able drive hard to the basket.
 
Both teams looked to push the ball down the court. They both had trouble scoring the ball. It took each
team a while go get into their offensive grove.
 
Champlin Park's T.J. Okafor took the ball hard to the basket. He was able to make a short little jump
shot.
 
Osseo's Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld took his defender off the dribble. He was able to make his shot from
just inside the top of the key. Sonnenfeld found Terez Wayne VanPelt driving to the basket and VanPelt
was also able to make some shots.
 
Both teams took their time on the offensive end. Osseo did a good job of swinging the ball around the
three-point line. That made Champlin Park have to come out and guard Osseo out behind the threepoint
line.
 
Champlin Park stayed in a zone defense for most of the first half. Osseo did a good job of attacking the
gaps in the defense.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 6:17 with the score Champlin Park 20 and Osseo 14.
 
After the timeout Osseo picked up their men at half court. The pace of the game was quick throughout
the half. Osseo liked the quick pace. Osseo had an easy time making their shots.
 
Champlin Park called a timeout with 2:53 left with the score Champlin Park 24 and Osseo 22.
 
Both teams continued to chew time off the clock.
 
At halftime the score was Champlin Park 30 and Osseo 24.
 
Champlin Park came out of the halftime break in a zone defense. They continued to pressure Osseo on
the offensive end.
 
On the offensive end Champlin Park did a hood job of getting the ball out of the net and getting the ball
to the other end of the court.
 
With 14:06 left to go in regulation Osseo called a timeout the score was Champlin Park 41 and Osseo
28.
 
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls. Both teams were very aggressive.
 
Champlin Park did a good job of trapping Van Pelt. Van Pelt turned the ball over because of the defense that Champlin Park used.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 11:38 left. The score was Champlin Park 43 and Osseo 34.
 
Osseo went on a run after the timeout. They didn't back down to Champlin Park’s suffocating zone
defense.
 
Champlin Park called a timeout with 9:45 left. The score was Champlin Park 43 and Osseo 38.
 
Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls. There were many jump balls throughout the game.
 
Champlin Park's zone defense caused Osseo problems all game long. Okafor was all over the court. 

He continued to take the ball hard to the basket late in the contest.
 
The game was close throughout. The score changed many times during the game.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 4:07 remaining. The score was Champlin Park 48 and Osseo 45.
 
Okafor nailed a shot just inside the top of the key.
 
Champlin Park called a timeout with 3:28 left when the score was Champlin Park 50 and Osseo 47.
 
VanPelt stepped up big as he drained a deep three-point shot to bring Osseo within two points of
Champlin Park.
 
Okafor fouled out with 9 points with 1:33 left in regulation.
 
Champlin Park called a timeout with 1:08 left to go the score was Champlin Park 54 and Osseo 51.
 
The game came down to the final minute. VanPelt scored a basket with 30.9 seconds left to go to bring
Osseo within a point.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 30.9 seconds to go with the score Champlin Park 54 and Osseo 53.
 
Neither team was able to score a basket. With 15.5 seconds left in regulation Champlin Park called a
timeout with the score still Champlin Park 54 and Osseo 53.
 
Champlin Park had the ball under the Osseo basket and they had a five second call on them and they
turned the basketball over to Osseo with 15.5 left to go.
 
VanPelt scored a jump shot at the buzzer to give Osseo the 55-54 victory over Champlin Park.
Both teams played extremely well throughout the game.
 
The leading scorers for Champlin Park were Anthony Hill with 15 points and T. J. Okafor with 9
points. The leading scorers for Osseo were Terez Wayne VanPelt with 18 points and Joey Curtis
Sonnenfeld had 15 points.

#2 OSSEO TOOK ON MAPLE GROVE IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

Osseo traveled to Maple Grove for a boys' basketball game. Maple Grove came into the game with a
record of 12-8. Osseo came into the game with a record of 20-2. Osseo was ranked #2 in the state in
Class AAAA. In their first meeting on January 13, 2011 Osseo came away with the 58-53 victory over Maple Grove.

Maple Grove started the game off in a tight man-to-man defense. They looked to slow Osseo down.
Osseo wanted to set the tempo in their favor early in the game. Osseo looked for a quick up and down
fast pace type of game.

Osseo called a time out with 14:49 time left in the first half. The score was Maple Grove 5 and Osseo
0.

Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld scored the first Osseo basket with 12:40 left in the first half. Sonnenfeld
received a technical foul for apparently elbowing another player.

Osseo went on a run after that technical foul.

Maple Grove went to a zone defense. They looked to spread Osseo out.

Terez Wayne VanPelt found his shot midway through the first half. He was able to pull up and hit a
mid-range jump shot.

Osseo continued to push the ball down the court as they looked to score baskets in transition.

Osseo was able to catch up to Maple Grove. VanPelt scored a two-point basket with 6:00 left to give

Osseo a 16-15 lead. It was their first lead of the game.

Osseo continued to make shots late in the first half.

At halftime the score was Osseo 25 and Maple Grove 20.

As the second half got underway Maple Grove came out on fire. They continued to shoot the ball well.

Sonnenfeld continued to shoot the ball well. He was not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the
court.

VanPelt continued to run the Osseo offense. He instructed his teammates where they should be on the court. On the defensive end he was able to slow down his opponent.

Maple Grove took a timeout with the score Osseo 42 and Maple Grove 29.

Maple Grove stayed in their zone defense. They mostly used zone in the second half. Osseo did a good job of shooting the gaps in the defense.

Both teams dove on the ground after loose balls. There were a lot of tie-ups for loose balls.

Michael Fischer for Osseo did a good job on the offensive end. He was able to get his teammates
involved in the play.

Osseo called a timeout with 6:48 left in regulation with the score Osseo 49 and Maple Grove 35.

Brycen Wojita for Maple Grove played well on both ends of the court. He was able to fluster the Osseo players.

Osseo came away with the 67-51 victory over Maple Grove.

Bryce Wojta was Maple Grove’s leading scorer with 21 points. The leading scorers for Osseo were
Terez Wayne VanPelt with 15 points, Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld with 14 points, and Bridge Tusler with 10 points.

OSSEO TOOK ON PARK CENTER IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

Osseo traveled to Park Center for a boys' basketball game. Osseo came into the game with a record of 18-2 and were ranked #2 in Class AAAA. Park Center came into the game with a record of 7-11.
 
The game started out on a fast pace. Each team looked to get the ball out of the net and get to the other end as quickly as possible.
 
Osseo started the game in a man-to-man defense.
 
Park Center wanted to get the ball into the hands of Quinton Lee Hooker. Hooker was all over the
court.
 
Osseo started out on fire was they went on a 7-0 run to begin the game. Park Center scored their first
basket with just under 15:00 left to go.
 
Terez Wayne VanPelt found the basket early for Osseo. He was able to make his shots that he put up.
 
Park Center was not afraid to shoot the ball in the first half. They shot the ball from everywhere on the court.
 
Osseo took their time on the offensive end. They used a lot of time off the clock in the first half
looking for and getting their shots.
 
Danny Rodenberg for Park Center took the ball hard to the basket. He was able to make his shots that he put up and was also able to get to the foul line.
 
Park Center went on a run late in the half. They were able to slow down Osseo on the offensive end.
 
At halftime the score was Osseo 35 and Park Center 30.
 
As the second half got underway Osseo game out on fire. They looked to slow the ball down and work the ball around the three-point line.
 
Park Center continued to get the ball into the hands of Hooker. Hooker was able to find the basket with ease. His teammates kept looking for him to score.
 
VanPelt continued to take the ball hard to the basket.
 
Park Center battled throughout the second half.
 
Both teams we very aggressive throughout the game.
 
Park Center went on a run late in the game. Osseo had a 58-53 lead with 2:00 left to go in regulation.
Hooker continued to attack the basket late in the game.
 
The game came down to the wire. With 48.5 seconds left to go in regulation the score was Osseo 60
and Park Center 57.
 
There were many hard fouls by Park Center with under a minute in the game.
 
Osseo was able to come away with the 64-57 victory over Park Center.
 
The leading scorers for Park Center were Kevin Handy with 15 points, Quinton Lee Hooker and
Treyton Daniels with 13 points each.

The leading scorers for Osseo were Terez Wayne VanPelt with 20 points, and Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld
with 15, and Michael Brush with 10 points.

THE #5 OSSEO ORIOLES TOOK ON THE BLAINE BENGALS IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

The Osseo Orioles traveled to Blaine for a boys' basketball contest. Osseo came into the game with a
record of 17-2 and were raked #5 in the state in Class AAAA. Blaine came into the game with a record of 10-7. The first time these teams met back on Tuesday December 21, 2010 and Blaine came awaywith the 61-53 victory over Osseo.

Osseo stared the game in a man-to-man defense. They looked to apply full court pressure to Blaine
from the start of the game. Blaine also started out the game playing man-to-man defense.
 
Both teams got hot on the offensive end at the start of the game. Each team was able to match each
other’s scoring.
 
Osseo took their time on the offensive end. They wanted to take as much time off the clock as they
could.
 
Osseo's Terez Wayne VanPelt found the basket early in the game. His teammates knew where he was on the floor. They were able to feed him the ball near the top of the key where VanPelt was able to
make a turnaround jump shot.
 
Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld of Osseo was able to make his shots.
 
Blaine looked to get the ball into the hands of Tanner Schumacher. Schumacher's shot was dead on
from all over the court.
 
The score went back and forth midway through the first half.
 
Blaine called a timeout with 7:27 left to go in the first half. The score was Osseo 24 and Blaine 21.
 
Osseo looked to score baskets in transition. As soon as they were able to get the ball out of the Blaine
net they looked to bring the ball the other way as soon as possible.
 
Schumacher was able to drain some long three-point shots late in the half.
 
Osseo took at timeout with 4:14 left to go in the first half. The score was tied at 28 each.
 
Both teams continued to go after each other late in the half.
 
At halftime the score was tied at 26.
 
As the second half got underway both teams came out fired up. Osseo went on a little run to start out
the half.
 
Bridge Tusler stepped up big for Osseo in the second half. He was able to get a few good stops on the defensive end.
 
Osseo's Micheal Fischer stepped up and nailed a few deep three-point shots in the second half. That
kept Osseo in the game.
 
Fischer also had a few nice drives to the baskets that he was able to make.
 
Blaine went on a run with just under 6:00 left to go in regulation. They were not able to catch Osseo.
 
The game got very physical at the end. Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls.
 
There was a lot of emotion displayed throughout the game. Osseo came away with the 87-72 victory
over Blaine.
 
The leading scorers for Osseo were Terez Wayne VanPelt with 20 points, Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld 19,
and Ian Theisen and Bridge Tusler with 12 points each. The leading scorers for Blaine were Zach
Romashko with 29 points and Tanner Schmacher with 23 points.

COON RAPIDS TOOK ON #5 OSSEO IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

Coon Rapids took on Osseo in a boys’ basketball contest. Coon Rapids came into the game with a
record of 0-14. Osseo came into the game with a record of 14-2 and were ranked #5 in the state in Class
AAAA.

Osseo won the tip. From the start of the game Osseo looked to get the ball up the court as quickly as
they could.

Osseo came out and used a half court man-to-man defense. They wanted to apply as much pressure as
they could to Coon Rapids. Coon Rapids did a good job of handling there half court man-to-man
pressure.

Osseo took their time on the offensive end. They wanted to take as much time off the clock as they
could.

Coon Rapids looked to trap Osseo in the corners. Osseo did a good job of keeping the ball out of the
corners.

Osseo looked inside to Ian Theisen . Theisen did a good job of attacking the basket. Joey Curtis
Sonnenfeld made some nice baskets midway through the first half.

Osseo was able to put together a nice run with just over 13:00 left in the first half.

Osseo's head coach Tim John Theisen did a good job on the substitution patterns. Tim Theisen usually
plays eight to nine guys regularly.

Coon Rapids took a timeout with 11:28 left to go with the score Osseo 18 and Coon Rapids 9.

Coon Rapids went to a full court man-to-man press after that time out. Osseo did a good job of
responding as they were able to get the ball down the court quickly and break the Coon Rapids defense.

Osseo switched up between zone and man-to-man defense.

Osseo's Darren James Herbert did a good job of taking the ball hard to the basket. He knew where he
was on the court and he called for the ball in spots where he would get a nice shot.

Osseo was able to score six-eight points in a row. Coon Rapids would score two to four points in a row.

Coon Rapids looked to get the ball into the hands of Pierre Roddy. Roddy was ready to shoot the ball. It
didn't matter where he was on the court Roddy would look to shoot the ball from anywhere.

Osseo continued to hit their shots late in the half. Coon Rapids went dormant from the floor for a
period late in the first half. They could not make shots that they were taking.

Osseo took a timeout with 3:08 left to go in the first half. The score was Osseo 42 and Coon Rapids 23.

Both teams continued to go at each other late in the first half.

At halftime the score was Osseo 47 and Coon Rapids 27.

As the second half got underway Osseo looked to keep pushing the ball down the court. They were
able to come out on fire.

With 15:01 left in regulation the score was Osseo 55 and Coon Rapids 28. Coon Rapids took their first
timeout of the half.

Coon Rapids looked to push the ball down the court in the second half. They had to work hard for all of
the shots they took.

VanPelt continued to make his shots. On the defensive end he also stepped up his pressure.

Coon Rapids continued to stay in the zone defense. They wanted to spread Osseo out and force them to
shoot deep three-point shots. Osseo was able to exploit that as they were able to shoot from both the
inside and the out side.

Both teams played very hard. Osseo was able to come out hot and make their shots. Osseo came away
with the 85-45 victory over Coon Rapids.

The leading scorers for Coon Rapids were Pierre Roddy with 16 points and Malcom Farley with 10
points . The leading scores for Osseo were Ian Theisen with 18 points and Bridge Tusler with 15 points.

#1 HOPKINS TOOK ON #2 OSSEO IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL CONTEST

Hopkins took on Osseo in a boys’ basketball game. Hopkins jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead. Osseo came out playing a man-to-man.

The lead went back and forth early in the game. Both teams looked to push the ball down the court.

Osseo looked to get the ball into the hands of Terez Wayne VanPelt. VanPelt did a good job directing his players to where they were susposed to be on the court.

Hopkins also did a good job of pushing the ball down the court. Hopkins was able to score baskets in transition.

Joe Coleman who is going to the University Of Minnesota next season stepped up and knocked down some big three-point shots.

Ian Theisen for Osseo was camped out on the low block. He was able to get the ball on the low block and power the ball strong to the basket.

VanPelt did a good job of getting the ball out of the net and getting it to the other end of the court.

Coleman was hot from all over the court. He was able to hit shots throughout the first half.

With 10:09 left to go in the first half the score was Hopkins 26 and Osseo 15.

Hopkins continued to shoot the ball and make shots.

Osseo had trouble making their shots. VanPelt took the ball hard to the glass. He had a few nice layups.

Osseo looked to penetrate to the basket. They were able to make their shots late in the half.

Nick Jorgensen for Hopkins knocked done a key three-point shot with 2:00 left in the half.

At halftime the score was Hopkins 46 and Osseo 31.

As the second half got underway Hopkins came out on fire. They were able to hit their shots.

Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld kept on shooting the ball well for Osseo.

Osseo got hot midway through the second half. They were not able to catch up to Hopkins however.

Osseo fought hard throughout the game. In the end Hopkins was too much as they came away with the 86-68 victory over Osseo.

The leading scorers for Osseo were Joey Sonnenfeld with 26 points and Terez Wayne VanPelt with 18 points. The leading scorers for Hopkins were Joe Coleman with 25 points and Siyani Chambers with 21 points.

CENTENNIAL TOOK ON #2 OSSEO IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Centennial took on the #2 ranked Osseo in a boys’ basketball game at Osseo. Centennial came
into the game with a record of 2-11. Osseo came into the game with a record of 12-1.
 
Centennial started the game out on defense. They started out in man-to-man defense.
 
When Centennial was on offense they looked to take a lot of time off the clock. They passed the
ball around the three-point line. Centennial looked for Mitchell Kuck to shoot the ball.
 
Neither team took many shots in the opening minutes of the game. Both teams were going after
each other on the defensive end.
 
Centennial looked to push the ball in transition. After Osseo shot the ball, all of the Centennial
players crashed the boards and went after the rebound.
 
Centennial switched between man-to-man defense and zone defense.
 
Centennial called a timeout with 12:15 left to go in the first half. The score was Osseo 8 and
Centennial 7.
 
The defensive pressure that Osseo applied seemed to bother Centennial. They got frustrated
because they couldn’t make shots.
 
Osseo looked to get the ball inside to Will Johnson who was posted up on the low block. Johnson
was able to take the ball hard to the basket. Michael Fischer was able to step up and knock down
some key three-point shots.
 
Osseo did a good job of taking their time on the offensive end. They kept on swinging the ball
around the three-point line to take as much time off the clock as they could.
 
Centennial went cold for a period in the first half. They couldn’t make a shot. Osseo used that to
their advantage as they hit shots.
 
Osseo’s Michael Fischer used his quick skills to blow by the Centennial defenders.
 
With 5:07 left Centennial called a timeout. The score was Osseo 26 and Centennial 15.
 
After that timeout Centennial came out in a zone defense. They looked to spread Osseo out when 
Osseo was on offense. Darren James Herbert was able to find Terez Wayne VanPelt on a fast
break.
 
Osseo’s Joey Curtis Sonnenfeld stepped up and was able to knock down a few three-point shots
late in the half.
 
Centennial looked to shoot the ball throughout the first half. Their shots didn’t fall in the first
half. Centennial looked to get everyone on the court a chance to touch the ball on the offensive
end. They didn’t give up as they kept going after Osseo.
 
At halftime the score was Osseo 39 and Centennial 27.
 
Osseo started the second half with the ball. They looked go the ball inside to Ian Theisen.
Theisen who was camped out on the low block.
 
Osseo came out shooting and making a lot of three-point shots. Centennial didn’t defend Osseo
out on the three-point line.
 
Centennial countered with a three-point shooting display. They looked to shoot their way back
into the game.
 
Centennial gained more confidence in their shooting in the second half. They didn’t seem scared
to shoot the ball in the second half.
 
Johnson made some impressive moves as he drove to the basket and made lay-up after lay-up.
 
Centennial called a timeout with 9:15 left to go in the second half. The score was Osseo 65 and
Centennial 48.
 
Centennial was able to score a few baskets on fast breaks. Osseo had a difficulty containing
pressure on the fast breaks.
 
Osseo called a time out with 5:20 left to go in regulation. The score was Osseo 73 and
Centennial 58.
 
Both teams battled down the stretch. Neither team gave up.
 
Osseo came away with the 89-72 victory over Centennial. I thought that everyone played hard
for both teams.
 
I thought that Terez Wayne VanPelt and Darren James Hebert along with the whole team played
well for Osseo. Joey Sonnenfeld also stepped up big and was able to knock down some key
shots and critical times in the game.

THE #2 RANKED OSSEO ORIOLES TOOK ON THE FALCONS OF ROBBINSDALE ARMSTRONG IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME THAT WENT INTO DOUBLE OVERTIME

The Osseo boys’ basketball team traveled to Robbinsdale Armstrong for a game. Osseo came
into the game with a record of 7-1 in the conference and 11-1 overall. Armstrong came into the
game with a record of 6-1 in the conference and 11-1 overall. Osseo came into the game ranked
#2 in the state in class AAAA behind Hopkins in the latest poll according to the Minneapolis
Star Tribune.

Armstrong started the game in a man-to-man defense. On the offensive end they looked to get
the ball into the hands of Levi Abercrombie.

Armstrong started on fire. They were able to make most of their shots that they put up. That
didn’t stop Osseo from playing defense.

Osseo was able to drop some shots. They didn’t get frustrated. They kept on going after
Armstrong.

Osseo looked to get the ball into the hands of Darren James Herbert. Herbert did a good job of
driving to the basket and he was able to make shots in transition.

Abercrombie did a good job finishing shots around the basket.

Armstrong got out to 19-10 lead with 10:30 left in the first half.

Osseo played an aggressive man-to-man defense. They were not able to contain the Armstrong
shooters in the first half.

KJ Bluford for Armstrong did a good job of knocking down shots in the first half. His
teammates knew where he was on the court. They did a good job of getting him the ball.

Armstrong came out on fire in the first half. They were able to knock down their shots. Osseo
had trouble shooting the ball in the first half.

At halftime the score was Robbinsdale Armstrong 35 and Osseo 21.

As the second half got underway Osseo looked much more patient on the offensive end. They
took their time on the offensive end. Osseo also did a better job of passing the ball around the
three-point line.

Abcrombie continued to go hard to the basket in the second half. The Osseo players had a hard
time of defending him. He continued to do a good job of penetrating to the basket.

Osseo came out and used a good man-to-man defense in the second half. They wanted to shut
down the shooters for Armstrong.

Osseo tried to make a comeback midway through the second half. They wanted to cut down the
deficit. Osseo went on a run.

Terez Wayne VanPelt did a good job of finding the basket in the second half. He did a good job
of running the Osseo offense.

Joey Sonnenfeld came up big as he also was able to knock down some key three-point shots in
the second half.

With 9:31 left in regulation the score was Armstrong 48 and Osseo 40.

Both teams continued to go hard at each other late in the contest. Both teams dove on the floor
after loose balls and got after it.

Osseo got within a point as Vanpelt shot a three point shot with 3:50 left to make the score
Armstrong 54 and Osseo 53.

The score went back and forth late in the game. Osseo called its last timeout with 45.8 seconds
left to in the game. The score was Armstrong 59 and Osseo 58.

Bridge Tusler for Osseo hit a shot at the buzzer to tie the game at 61.

In the overtime period both teams continued to shoot the ball well. They also played very tough
defense.

Armstrong made some shots midway through the overtime period. Osseo didn’t help themselves
as they committed some costly turnovers late in the overtime period.

Sonnenfeld hit a long three-point shot with less than 20 seconds to go to tie the game at 64.

At the end of the first overtime the score was tied at 64.

In the second overtime Curtis came out and drained a nice jump shot to give Armstrong a 2-point
advantage. The score went back and forth in the second overtime as each team traded baskets.

In a hard fought game Osseo came away with the 73-70 double overtime victory over
Robbinsdale Armstrong.

The leading scorers for Osseo were Joey Sonnenfeld with 25 points and Terez Wayne VanPelt
finished with 22 points. The leading scorer for Armstrong was Marquel Curtis with 28 points.
I thought that both of these teams played hard throughout the game. The game was played with a
lot of emotion and energy. It felt like two big time teams were going at it. The atmosphere in the
gym was electric. It was a fun game to do.
