PARK CENTER WENT UP AGAINST WASHBURN IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 3, Park Center and Washburn played basketball. Both teams' rosters were not available for this game.

Park Center started out in a full-court press. Washburn pushed the ball down the floor, looking to score baskets in transition. It took both teams a while to get into an offensive groove.

Park Center started the game with a zone defense, which made Washburn take a lot of time off the 35-second shot clock.

Washburn’s Cooper Carlson scored mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. If Carlson didn’t have an open look at the basket, he was able to find his teammates and get them involved in the offense.

Washburn was very active on both ends of the floor, and they did a good job of talking to each other on both ends of the floor.

Washburn’s Armoni Dischinger-Harris came up with key jump-shots and layups in the first half that gave his team energy.

Park Center called a timeout with 8:24 left in the first half. The score was Washburn 30, Park Center 12.

Washburn trapped Park Center; they had difficulty handling the pressure Washburn put on them.

Carlson continued to call for the ball and make shots late in the first half. He dove on the floor for loose balls.

Park Center called a timeout with 2:30 left in the first half. The score was Washburn 40, Park Center 20.

Both teams kept attacking the basket late in the first half, and neither team gave up an uncontested shot.

At halftime, the score was Washburn 44, Park Center 25.

As the second half got underway, both teams continued to attack the basket. Park Center looked to pass the ball around the 3-point line as they took time off the 35-second shot clock.

Washburn called a timeout with 15:11 left in regulation. The score was Washburn 46, Park Center 30.

Washburn switched to a zone defense early in the second half, which caused Park Center to move the ball around the 3-point line and take time off the clock.

Washburn got everyone involved in the offense. They knew where their teammates were on the floor at all times.

Park Center wasn’t afraid to take deep 3-point shots.

Park Center called a timeout with 10:25 left in regulation. The score was Washburn 54, Park Center 34.

Both teams exchanged baskets midway through the second half. Washburn kept on the defensive pressure.

Washburn called a timeout with 7:17 left in regulation. The score was Washburn 61, Park Center 44.

Both teams played hard throughout the game. Park Center didn’t give up on either side of the ball. Even though Park Center’s shots were not falling, they kept on shooting. Both teams brought their fans out, and it was a lively crowd as fans cheered for their favorite teams.

Park Center looked to trap Washburn late in the game.

Washburn called a timeout with 3:35 left in regulation. The score was Washburn 65, Park Center 50.

As the final minutes ticked off the clock, both teams continued to give their best effort. In a hard-fought game, Washburn came away with the 71-57 victory over Park Center.

SPRING LAKE PARK WENT UP AGAINST PARK CENTER IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 22, Spring Lake Park and Park Center went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game. The game was played at the Target Center in Minneapolis. 

Both teams looked to push the ball down the floor and looked to score layups in transition. 

It took both teams a while to get used to playing on the longer pro floor at the Target Center. 

The score went back and forth early. Spring Lake Park moved the ball down the floor well. Spring Lake Park’s Jackson Weier came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. 

Spring Lake Park used their quickness to get to the ball and was able to come up with steals and jump shots. 

Park Center called a timeout with 7:18 left in the first half. The score was Spring Lake Park 22, Park Center 13.

After the timeout, Spring Lake Park continued to push the ball down the floor and looked to score layups in transition.

Spring Lake Park called a timeout with 4:45 left in the first half. The score was Spring Lake Park 27, Park Center 21.

Park Center looked to attack the Spring Lake Park defense late in the first half. The defensive pressure made it difficult for Park Center to make uncontested shots late in the half.

Spring Lake Park called a timeout with 2:20 left in the first half. The score was tied at 27. 

The score remained close late in the half. After a slow start by Park Center, their offense came to alive late in the first half.

Spring Lake Park came up with layups off steals late in the first half.

At halftime, the score was Spring Lake Park 33, Park Center 32. 

Spring Lake Park’s Blake Remme and Gabe Myren both came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. Their teammates were able to get them the ball in spots where they could shoot it. 

Park Center’s Dain Dainja came up with layups and mid-range jump shots. He called for the ball on the low block and demanded the ball on the low post. 

Spring Lake Park called a timeout with 14:44 left in regulation. The score was Park Center 40, Spring Lake Park 35. 

Dain Dainja kept on coming up with huge shots down the stretch. The defense had a difficult time slowing Dainja down when he took the ball strong to the basket. 

The score went back and forth in the second half.

Park Center called a timeout with 9:23 left in regulation. The score was tied at 50.

The Park Center offense got clicking late in the second half. Park Center did a good job of swinging the ball around the 3-point line and looking for their shots. 

Park Center called a timeout with 5:01 left in regulation. The score was Park Center 57, Spring Lake Park 54. 

Dain Dainja hurt his right knee with 3:35 left in regulation. But he popped up and got treated by the trainer. But seemed to be ok.

He entered the game with under 2:00 left in regulation. 

Park Center came up with shots late in the game. Spring Lake Park struggled shooting the ball late in the game. 

Both teams fought hard throughout the game. Park Center came away with the 69-62 victory over Spring Lake Park.

The leading scorers for Spring Lake Park were Blake Remme with 25 points, Gabe Myren with 14 points, and Jacob Say with 5 points. 

The leading scorers for Park Center were Dain Dainja with 17 points, Detavius Frierson with 14 points,and John Grigsby with 10 points.

EAST RIDGE WENT UP AGAINST PARK CENTER IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

East Ridge and Park Center went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game. Both teams raced up and down the floor as they looked to make layups and score baskets in transition.

Park Center was able to push the ball down the floor and come up with layups in transition.

East Ridge was able to come up with layups in transition. They were able to get everyone involved in the offense.

East Ridge called a timeout with 12:34 left in the first half. The score was Park Center 11, East Ridge 5.

Park Center swung the ball around the 3-point line as they took time off the clock and looked to get everyone involved in the offense.

There were multiple ties and lead changes throughout the first half.

Park Center did a good job of moving the ball around the floor and getting everyone involved on the offensive end.

Park Center called a timeout with 6:39 left in the first half. The score was East Ridge 14, Park Center 13.

Both teams battled each other on the boards going after rebounds.

East Ridge kept on coming up with layups and jump shots late in the first half.

Park Center’s Detavius Frierson came up with layups as he took the ball strong to the basket. Teammate Dain Dainja also came up with big plays on both ends of the floor.

At halftime, the score was East Ridge 27, Park Center 23.

As the second half got underway Park center kept on attacking the basket as they were doing in the first half.

Park Center continued to move the ball around the 3-point line and look for their open shots. East Ridge countered back however as they came up with shots that kept the game close.

East Ridge kept on attacking the basket as they came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

Park Center kept attacking the basket late as neither team gave up easy baskets.

East Ridge came away with the 62-57 victory over Park Center.

PARK CENTER AND MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST SQUARED OFF IN A FOOTBALL SECTION GAME

On Oct. 22, Park Center and Minneapolis Southwest squared off in a football section quarterfinal game. The game was played at Southwest High School.

Park Center kicked off to start the game. Southwest started on its own 30-yard line. Southwest fumbled the ball and recovered it. Southwest’s TK Marshall got the ball and looked to carry the ball down the field and looked to go get first downs. Southwest kept the ball on the ground as they looked to get a first down. On 4th-and-1 Southwest went for it.

Southwest called a timeout with 8:20 left in the first quarter. The score was tied at 0.

After the timeout Southwest punted the ball.

Park Center took over on their own 14-yard line. Park Center kept the ball on the ground. Desman Scott came up with a short run for a first down. On 4th-and-7 Park Center punted the ball.

Southwest took over on its own 46-yard line. Southwest’s Jaden Reed came up with a first down reception. On 4th-and-4 Southwest punted the ball.

Park Center took over on its own 25-yard line. Park Center moved the ball down the field.

Park Center called a timeout with 1:58 left in the first quarter. The score was tied at 0.

Park Center punted on 4th-and-4. There was a bad snap and Park Center couldn’t get the ball off.

Southwest took over on the Park Center 13-yard line. Southwest fumbled the ball and Park Center recovered the ball on the 25-yard line.

Southwest moved the ball down the field through the air. Southwest’s Marcus Mattox came up with a first down reception. Southwest came up with first downs.

Southwest’s Nate Martes came up with a 2-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

Park Center took over on their own 30-yard line. Park Center fumbled the ball and Southwest took over on the Park Center 34-yard line.

Southwest TK Marshall came up with a long run for a first down. Southwest went for it. Nick Flashkamp came up with a 6-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.

Southwest took over on their own 45-yard line. Southwest looked through the air again as they wanted to get the ball down the field again. Southwest fumbled the ball and Park Center took over on the Southwest 30-yard line.

Park Center kept the ball on the ground, and they looked to get into the end zone. Marcus Freeman came up with an 11-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was not good.

With 5:38 left in the fourth quarter, the score was Southwest 14, Park Center 6.

Southwest took over on their own 40-yard line. Southwest moved the ball down the field as they looked for a first down. They were not able to come up with a first down and they punted on 4th-and-6.

The ball went into the end zone and Park Center took over on their own 20-yard line. Park Center kept the ball on the ground late in the game.

Park Center called a timeout with 1:11 left in the fourth quarter. The score was Southwest 14, Park Center 6.

Park Center moved the ball down the field and came Marcus Freeman came up with a 6-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was not good.

With 35 seconds left in regulation, the score was Southwest 14, Park Center 12.

Both teams played hard throughout the game. Southwest was all over the field. Southwest came away with the 14-12 victory over Park Center.

PARK CENTER WENT UP AGAINST MINNEHAHA ACADEMY IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Park Center and Minnehaha Academy squared off in a boys’ basketball game. The game was part of the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic which was played at Hopkins High School. 

Park Center pushed the ball down the floor as they looked to score baskets in transition.

Minnehaha got off to a slow start offensively.

Minnehaha called a timeout with 15:03 left in the first half. The score was Park Center 9, Minnehaha 0.

Park Center’s Dain Dainja came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

Minnehaha had trouble shooting the ball throughout the first half. 

Park Center called a timeout with 8:57 left in the first half. The score was Park Center 23, Minnehaha 11.

The Minnehaha offense came to life around the 8-minute mark in the first half. Minnehaha stepped up and was able to knock down mid-range jump shots and layups.

Minnehaha’s Jalen Suggs was all over the court. On the offensive end, Suggs was able to get to the basket and make mid-range jump shots and layups.

At halftime, the score was Park Center 38, Minnehaha 27.

As the second half got underway Park Center continued to push the ball down the court and look to score layups in transition.

Park Center called a timeout with 13:20 left in regulation. The score was Park Center 44, Minnehaha 34.

Suggs kept attacking the basket and coming up with mid-range jump shots and layups.

Minnehaha kept on attacking the basket in the second half. Minnehaha’s Lorenzo Smith came up with layups that kept his team in the game.

Both teams went after rebounds on both ends of the floor.

Minnehaha for their offense going in the second half. They were able to get the lead late in the second half.

Minnehaha came away with the 61-55 victory over Park Center.

OSSEO WENT UP AGAINST PARK CENTER IN A BOYS’ SECTION SEMIFINAL BASKETBALL GAME

On March 14, Osseo and Park Center squared off in a boys’ basketball game. This game was a semifinal of the Section 5 Class 4A tournament. The game was played at Maple Grove High School. Osseo was the number 3 seed in the section and Park Center was the number 2 seed in the section.

Osseo pushed the ball down the floor and came up with a layup and a 3-point shot by John Bezdicek.

Park Center called a timeout with 17:06 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 5, Park Center 0.

Osseo got everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around the 3-point line and looked for their shots.

Park Center took a lot of time off the clock also by passing the ball around the 3-point line. 

On the defensive end, Park Center played a zone defense. They didn’t want Osseo to penetrate the middle and get to the lane. 

Osseo came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. They were also able to hit 3-point shots. Osseo used their quickness to get past the Park Center defense. 

Park Center’s Derrick Ogechi scored his team’s first five points. His teammates got him the ball in the paint in which he could made shots. 

After a slow start, offensively for Park Center they came up with layups and jump-shots. They got everyone involved in the offense.

Osseo’s Zach Theisen came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. Theisen called for the ball in the paint. That’s where he made most of his baskets. Theisen also stepped up and attempted 3-point shots.

Neither team took a lot of time off the clock on the offensive end mid-way through the first half.

Park Center did a good job of feeding Ogechi the ball in spots where he could shoot it. Ogechi was also able to slow down the guy he was guarding on the defensive end. 

Osseo wasn’t afraid to take deep 3-point shots. Everyone on the floor rebounded when the shot went up. 

Park Center called a timeout with 4:31 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 26, Park Center 19. 

Park Center’s Dainja took the ball hard to the basket. He wasn’t bothered by the Osseo defensive pressure.

The very physical throughout the first half. The officials let both teams play. 

Osseo’s Marice Nelson came up with 3-point baskets late in the first half. Park Center had a difficult time slowing Nelson down from behind the 3-point line. 

At halftime, the score was Osseo 37, Park Center 24. 

As the second half got underway Osseo took a lot of time off the clock by dribbling the ball around out-side of the 3-point line. That made Park Center come out and guard them from behind the 3-point line. 

Park Center struggled shooting early in the second half. Their shots were not falling for them. Park Center continued to get the ball into the hands of Losini Kamara, Derrick Ogechi and Dainja. All of whom looked to score by taking mid-range jump shots and layups. 

Osseo called a timeout with 11:44 left to go in regulation. The score was Osseo 47, Park Center 36.

Theisen continued to come up with layups. He could beat his guy off the dribble and got to the basket for layups. There were multiple guys guarding him. 

Osseo took as much time as they could on the offensive end by dribbling and passing the ball around the 3-point line. 

Park Center came up with steals and layups. Their offense started to click with just under 7:45 left in regulation. Osseo didn’t give up however they kept on attacking the basket and kept on coming up with shots. 

Park Center was active on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, they passed and cut a lot and on the defensive end they could get Osseo frustrated by their pressure.

Osseo took a lot of time off the clock late in the game. 

Park Center went to a full court man-to-man defense as they wanted to slow the Osseo defense down.

Osseo called another timeout with 2:16 left in regulation. The score remained 58-52 Osseo. 

Park Center trapped Osseo and could force them to turn the ball over. 

The Park Center offense came up with some huge shots late in the game.

Park Center looked to take quick shots late in the game. 

Both teams played well throughout the game. Osseo got up big early and Park Center clawed their way back. 

Osseo came away with the 62-61 victory over Park Center. 

The leading scorers for Osseo were Theisen and Nelson each with 18 points and Bezdicek with 13 points. 

The leading scorers for Park Center were Broadway with 17 points, Kamara with 14 points and Dainja with 12 points.

PARK CENTER WENT UP AGAINST OSSEO IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 26 Park Center and Osseo squared off in a boys' basketball game. Going into the game Park Center came into the game with an overall record of 12-6 and Osseo had an overall record of 18-0.

 

Osseo looked to set the tempo of the game early. Osseo started out guarding in the full court. They switched up between man-to-man and zone defense.

 

Osseo pushed the ball down the floor and got everyone involved in the offense. Osseo guard Allen Anderson brought the ball down the floor and shouted out plays that he wanted ran.

 

Park Center’s Osirus Washington got his team in an offensive pattern. He called out plays that he wanted ran.

 

Osseo’s Damario Armstrong came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

 

Osseo called a timeout with 13:54 left in the first half. The score was tied at 12.

 

Park Center looked to come up with steals and turn them into layups on the offensive end.

 

The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run.

 

Park Center called a timeout with 12:28 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 14, Park Center 13.

 

Osseo did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around to each other and communicated well on both ends of the floor.

 

Osseo’s Allen Anderson came off of picks and was able to come up with layups and mid-range jump shots on the offensive end. On the defensive end Anderson was able to slow down the guy he was guarding.

 

The defensive pressure that both teams applied made it difficult for each team to take uncontested shots.

 

Park Center’s Losini Kamara knocked down huge shots for his team. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

 

Osseo picked up their defensive pressure in the full court. They wanted to make it difficult for Park Center to bring the ball down the floor.

 

Osseo’s Kameron Bettie attacked the basket and came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. Multiple people guarded Bettie as they all tried to slow him down.

 

Park Center looked to score fast break layups in transition. Washington or Kamara would usually run the break.

 

Neither team went on a huge run in the first half.

 

Both teams took the ball down the floor and scored baskets in transition.

 

Park Center called a timeout with 3:25 left in the first half. The score was tied at 33.

 

Osseo looked to trap the ball and come up with steals and looked to make layups off the turnovers.

 

Washington wasn’t afraid to drive to the basket and make layups. He was able to get past his defenders.

Osseo stepped up with defensive pressure as Park Center looked to attack the basket.

 

Theisen came up with a huge 3-point shot at the buzzer.

As the second half got underway Osseo continued to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition. Anderson got the offense going by making layups.

 

Park Center did a good job of getting the ball into the hands of Kamara and Washington. Both of whom stepped up and came up with big shots.

 

Osseo did a good job of communicating with each other on both ends of the floor. Osseo’s defensive pressure in the second half made it difficult for Park Center to get shots they were looking for in their offense.

 

Park Center called a timeout with 12:36 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 58, Park Center 47.

 

Osseo was much more relaxed on the floor in the second half. They were able to come up with steals and then come up with layups. Osseo was able to frustrate Park Center.

 

Park Center didn’t give up as they kept attacking the basket looking for their shots.

 

With 10:21 left in regulation Park Center’s head coach James Ware received a technical foul for arguing a call.

 

Osseo called a timeout with 9:44 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 67, Park Center 53.

 

Park Center battled back as they attacked the basket and looked to make layups and mid-range jump shots.

 

Osseo’s Martelius Hughes attacked the basket on the offensive end. He came up with layups late in the game. Teammate Theisen also came up with big shots in the second half.

 

Osseo called a timeout with 4:16 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 86, Park Center 67.

 

Osseo stepped up with offensive production in the second half. They were able to make shots that they put up on offense. On the defensive end they were able to get Park Center out of their offensive rhythm.

 

Osseo came away with the 97-75 victory over Park Center.

ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE WENT UP AGAINST PARK CENTER IN A GIRLS' BASKETBALL GAME

St. Michael-Albertville (STMA) and Park Center squared off against each other in a girls' basketball game.

 

Park Center pushed the ball down the floor and looked to score layups in transition. Park Center got the ball into the hands of Mikayla Hayes who came up with layups and mid-range jump shots.

 

Both teams went after loose balls and rebounds. There were many jump balls in the first half.

 

Park Center took a lot of time off the clock in the first half. They swung the ball around the 3-point line.

 

Park Center used a zone defense. They wanted to force STMA to shot 3-point shots which they did.

 

Park Center set several screens as they looked for cutters to the basket and they were able to make baskets off their cuts.

 

At halftime the score was Park Center 32. STMA 30.

 

Park Center’s Rea Johnson came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. The defense had a hard time slowing her down.

 

The score went back and forth throughout the second half. Neither team went on a huge run.

 

Park Center’s Jada Buford came up with clutch jump shots in the second half. That kept Park Center in the game.

 

STMA struggled to shoot the ball in the second half. Even though they struggled to shoot the ball they kept on shooting it.

 

Park Center used their quickness to get the ball down the floor.

 

STMA got hot late in the second half. They started making their shots.

 

The score went back and forth the last 2:00 of the game.

ST. CLOUD TECH WENT UP AGAINST PARK CENTER IN THE STATE SOCCER QUARTERFINALS

St. Cloud Tech and Park Center squared off in a boys state soccer game at Farmington High School.

 

It was a crisp and cool night with a light rain fans braved the elements to watch the game.

 

As the game got underway it took a very physical. There was a lot of jostling for the ball.  

 

St. Cloud Tech did a good job of getting the ball to everyone on the field.

 

Both teams seemed to keep the ball in the middle of the field.

 

In a very well-played half the score at halftime was tied at 0.

 

As the second half got underway both teams continued to move the ball down the field and get the ball into the net.

 

St. Cloud Tech’s Mohamed Adbi scored a goal with 11:00 left in regulation.

 

With that goal that made the score St. Cloud Tech 1, Park Center 0.

 

Both teams played hard throughout the game. Park Center didn’t give up.

 

St. Cloud Tech’s Mohamud Aden scored a goal with 2:18 left in the second half.

 

With that goal that made the score St. Cloud Tech 2, Park Center 0.

 

St. Cloud Tech came away with 2-0 victory over Park Center.

MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST WENT UP AGAINST PARK CENTER IN A SECTION FOOTBALL GAME

On Oct. 14 Minneapolis Southwest and Park Center went up against each other in the Section 5 Class 5A football game. 

Southwest kicked off to start the game. The ball went into the end zone for a touchback. The ball was spotted on the 20-yard line. Park Center’s Amani Hooker looked to get the ball into his hands. Park Center turned the ball over on downs. 

Southwest kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. The defense was able to slow down the
Southwest offense early. On 4th-and-5 they went for it and Tywon Nash came up with a 15-yard reception for a first down. On 4th-and-12 Southwest attempted a 29-yard field goal which was no good. There was a flag on the play. The penalty was on Park Center, roughing the kicker. Southwest picked up a first down. Southwest went for it on 4th-and-3. There was a penalty on Park Center. The Park Center defense stepped up and they intercepted the ball and Southwest picked up a safety with 2:33 left in the first quarter. That made the score Southwest 2, Park Center 0. 

Park Center’s Ryan Schnobrick came up with a fumble and the ball to get them the ball back.

Ty’Shonan Brooks came up with a huge run that came up with a first down. Kyle Schnobrick came up with a touchdown reception the two-point conversion was good.

With 1:38 left in the first quarter the score was Park Center 8, Southwest 2. 

Hawkins was intercepted and Payton Wensel came up with a huge reception that put the ball on the 2.

Hooker ran 2 yards for a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

After one quarter of play the score was Park Center 15, Southwest 2.

Southwest tuned the ball over on a Hooker interception. Brooks came up with a huge 33-yard run for a first down. Brooks came up with an 18-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was no good. 

With 11:18 left in the second quarter the score was Park Center 21, Southwest 2.

Southwest’s Hawkins injured his ankle and was tended to by medical personnel. He was taken off the field on a cart.

Southwest’s Devin Joyce came in as the backup quarterback. Southwest had difficulty moving the ball down the field. Southwest punted the ball on 4th down. Brooks came up with a 69-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was good. 

With 6:29 left in the second quarter the score was Park Center 28, Southwest 2.

Southwest took over on their own 21-yard line. They were not able to move the ball down the field and they punted on 4th-and-10.

Park Center’s Malcolm Richard’s came up with a 31-yard run. Park Center’s Karl Altenburg came up with some big runs as he found holes in the Southwest defense. Park Center turned the ball over on downs.

Park Center’s Brooks intercepted a pass and ran it in for a 2- yard touchdown. The extra-point attempt was no good.

With 2:42 left in the second quarter the score was Park Center 34, Southwest 2.

Southwest took over on their own 18-yard line. Southwest tried to move the ball down the field late in the second quarter.

At halftime the score was Park Center 34, Southwest 2. 

Park Center kicked off to start the third quarter. Southwest took over on their own 23-yard line.

Southwest looked to get the ball in the air early. The receivers couldn’t come up with it. On 4th-and-22 Southwest punted the ball.

Park Center took over on their own 41-yard line. Hooker came up with a 15-yard reception for another first down. Elijah McClure came up with a 22-yard touchdown and reception. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 5:44 left in the third quarter. The score was Park Center 41, Southwest 2.

Southwest took over on their own 4-yard line. Southwest looked to keep the ball on the ground throughout the third quarter. On 4th-and-1 Southwest went for it. Park Center’s J Allen Naklen came up with an interception.

Park Center took over on the Southwest 29-yard line. Richards came with a 29-yard touchdown run.

The extra-point attempt was good.

With 57 seconds left in the third quarter the score was Park Center 48, Southwest 2.

Southwest took over on their own 15-yard line.

After three quarters of play the score was Park Center 48, Southwest 2.

As the fourth quarter got underway with the score being more than 35 point the clock ran. In Minnesota high school football games, if the score is more than 35 points or more the clock runs. Except for timeouts.

Hooker came up with a 38-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 10:57 left in the fourth quarter the score was Park Center 55, Southwest 2.

Park Center intercepted the ball by Mathis and he found the end zone. The extra-point attempt was good. 

With 8:23 left in the fourth quarter the score was Park Center 62, Southwest 2. 

Southwest took over on their own 6-yard line. Park Center came up with a safety.

With that safety that made the score Park Center 64, Southwest 2 with just under 5 minutes to play.

Park Center came away with the 64-2 victory over Southwest.

I was joined by Paul Austin, here are his thoughts on the game,” Southwest just did not have the available players to support the game play necessary to show up on the score. The moved they hustled to make the plays but when they got to position. They were out sized by the pirates’ defense and outgunned by the pirate offense. Early in the game the pirate offense was going for the long distance scoring attempts like it was their last ditch effort to win the game. By the time they got to the third quarter there was no way to come back with their defensive line out matched passing game. After the injuries in the third and fourth their will was shaken that opened them up to the last few scores that seemed effortless from the stands. The Pirates came prepared to win SW was outmatched and on the field with inferior defensive line.”
