SCIENCE AND AG SCHOOL WENT UP AGAINST METRO CHARTER SCHOOL IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 15, Science & Ag school went up against Metro School Charter in a boys’ basketball game. 

Metro Charter pushed the ball down the floor and looked to score layups in transition. It took a while for Science & Ag to get into a shooting rhythm. Even though they struggled shooting the ball they kept on attacking the basket. 

Both teams went into a scoring drought in the first half. They both had difficulty scoring the ball. 

Metro Charter moved the ball down the floor well as they looked for their shots. They got everyone involved in the offense. 

The defensive pressure that both teams applied made it difficult for the other team to get open looks at the basket.

Both teams looked to score layups in transition. 

Science and Ag had a difficult time scoring baskets in the first half. Even though they struggled shooting the ball they kept on shooting the ball. 

Both teams dove on the floor after loose balls and rebounds. 

Metro Charter wasn’t afraid to take the ball strong to the basket and come up with layups in transition. 

Even though Science and Ag struggled shooting the ball in the first half they kept on shooting the ball.

At halftime, the score was Metro Charter 31, Science and Ag16.

As the second half got underway Metro Charter kept on attacking the basket and getting their shots.  

Metro Charter used their quickness to get down the floor and scored layups in transition. 

The game got sloppy midway through the second half. There were multiple turnovers midway through the half. 

Both teams played hard throughout the game. Science and Ag struggled shooting the ball throughout the game. They couldn’t keep up with Metro Charter. 

Metro Charter came away with the 75-31 victory over Science and Ag.

ACADEMY FOR SCIENCES & AGRICULTURE WENT UP AGAINST PRAIRIE SEEDS ACADEMY IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 17,  Academy for Sciences & Agriculture (ASA) took on Prairie Seeds Academy (PSA) in a boys’ basketball game.

ASA started the game in a zone defense. PSA looked to move the ball down the floor quickly as they looked to score baskets in transition.

ASA struggled to shoot the ball early. They passed the ball around the 3-point line and attack the basket.

ASA called a timeout with 12:18 left in the first half. The score was PSA 14, ASA 0.

PSA came up with steals as they were able to turn ASA over. PSA was able to make layups off the turnovers.

PSA’s Elisheick Deah came up with layups on fast breaks. His teammates did a good job of getting the ball to him and he was able to blow by defenders.

ASA called a timeout with 7:35 left in the first half. The score was PSA 30, ASA 0.

PSA did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around the 3-point line as they took time off the clock. They worked the ball inside to post player Brandon Egge. Egge came up with layups.

ASA’s James Wilfong made a jump shot with 3:57 left in the first half for his team’s first basket.

ASA had a difficult time shooting the ball throughout the first half.

At halftime the score was PSA 51, ASA 5.

As the second half got underway PSA continued to attack the basket looking for layups. PSA’s Daveon Gibson and Egge continued to look to shoot mid-range jump shots.

PSA took a lot of time off the clock in their offense. They passed the ball around the 3-point line as they took time off the clock.

ASA started to hit jump shots in the second half. ASA guard Thomas Ewalt brought the ball down the floor and was able to get the ball into the paint.

ASA called a timeout with 11:40 left in the second half. The score was PSA 67, ASA 12.

PSA stepped of the defensive pressure in the second half. ASA hit shots late in the game.

PSA came away with the 91-19 victory over ASA.

The leading scorer for ASA was Wilfong with 7 points.

The leading scorers for PSA were Gibson with 30 points and Egge with 27 points.
