OSSEO WENT UP AGAINST ANDOVER IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On Feb. 16, Osseo and Andover squared off against each other in a boys’ basketball game. Both teams took a while to get their offense going. 

Osseo did a good job of getting the ball down the floor and scoring baskets in transition. They did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. 

Andover called a timeout with 12:27 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 14, Andover 4. 

Andover had trouble moving the ball on offense due to the defensive pressure that Osseo applied. 

Osseo moved the ball well on offense. They got everyone involved in the offense. They did a good job of communicating with each other.

Neither team went on a huge run in the first half. Andover did however come up with mid-range jump shots and layups late in the first half.

Osseo kept attacking the basket and they were able to come up with baskets. Osseo’s Dontae Jones came up with a huge slam dunk that kept his team motivated.

Andover called a timeout with 3:14 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 32, Andover 22.

Osseo looked to control the tempo of the game late in the half. 

At halftime the score was Osseo 34 Andover 26.

As the second half got underway Andover kept on attacking the basket. Andover’s Trevor Siebold came up with huge shots for his team. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

Osseo came out with a lot of energy and intensity in the second half. They did a better job of moving the ball around the floor and communicating with each other.

Andover’s Jeremy Neuman came up with huge deep 3-point baskets. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

Andover called a timeout with 10:34 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 50, Andover 36. 

Osseo kept attacking the basket and came up with shots. Everyone on Osseo stepped up in the second half and communicated well. 

Andover didn’t back down as well. They attacked the basket and were able to get the ball into the hands of Trevor Siebold and Logan Rezac. Both of whom came up with big shots. 

Osseo came away with the 83-66 victory over Andover.

The leading scorers for Andover were Corbin Johnson with 26 points, and Logan Rezac with 21 points.

The leading scorers for Osseo were Anderson with 18 points, Kameron Bettie with 17 points and Matt Bezedicek with 13 points.

OSSEO WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

Osseo and Minneapolis South squared off against each other in a boys basketball game. Osseo looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.
 
Osseo’s Demario Armstrong came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
Osseo’s Zach Theisen came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half.
 
South called a timeout with 10:17 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 18, South 12.
 
South struggled to shoot the ball in the first half. Even though they had a difficult time hitting shots they kept attacking the basket.
 
South called a timeout with 6:40 left to go in the first half. The score was Osseo 28, North 12.
 
Osseo came up with steals and turned them into layups on the offensive end.
 
South’s Michael Harris came up with huge baskets for his team. He was able to score mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
South attacked the basket late in the first half.  
 
At halftime the score was Osseo 37, South 30.

Osseo’s Allen Anderson made his mid-range jump shots and layups in the second half. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could make it.
 
Osseo’s Zach Theisen came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. He knew where his teammates were on the floor. If Theisen didn’t think that he could make a shot, he would pass it off to one of his teammates.
 
Harris continued to come up with huge shots in the second half. His teammates did a good job of feeding him the ball.
 
South’s Payton Bowdry came up with layups and mid-range jump shots. He knew where his teammates were on the floor and were able to get him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
The Osseo defense gave the South offense problems. Osseo did a good job of talking to each other on both ends of the floor.
 
South called a timeout with 7:14 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 59, South 57.
 
Harris continued to come up with huge baskets late in the second half.
 
South did a good job of attacking the Osseo offense.
 
Osseo’s Kameron Bettie came up with huge shots late in the game.
 
Osseo came away with the 79-67 victory over South.
 
The leading scores for South were Harris with 27 points and Bowdry with 15 points.
 
The leading scorers for Osseo were Anderson and Bettie each with 14 points.

ORONO WENT UP AGAINST OSSEO IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Orono and Osseo went up against each other in a basketball game.

Osseo looked to push the ball down the floor as they looked to score baskets in transition. Osseo had trouble hitting shots in the opening minutes of the game.

Orono was not afraid to shoot the deep three-point basket. They were successful at hitting open shots.

Osseo’s Allen Anderson was all over the floor. He was able to hit mid-range jump shots and layups.

Orono settled for deep three-point shots but were unsuccessful at hitting them.

Orono called a timeout with 1:46 left in the first half. The score was Orono 28, Osseo 26.

Orono took their time on the offensive end. They passed the ball around the three-point line as they looked for shots that they wanted to take.

At halftime the score was Orono 32, Osseo 29.

As the second half got underway the score continued to go back and forth. Neither team went on a run.

After a slow start the Osseo offense started to come to life. They made better passes on the offensive end and were able to slow down Orono on defense.

Osseo came up with some nice fast break layups. They were able to get past the Orono defenders.

Orono took deep three-point shots. They were not able to hit the deep shots that they took but they were looking to get back into an offensive attack mode late in the second half.

After a slow start Osseo turned on the offense in the second half. They got the ball into the hands of Allen Anderson who came up with some big shots.


Osseo came away with the 75-52 victory over Orono. Anderson finished with 18 points.

COON RAPIDS WENT UP AGAINST OSSEO IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 9 Coon Rapids and Osseo squared off in a boys basketball game.
 
Osseo looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition early.
 
Coon Rapids had a hard time making their shots that they put up. Even though they were attacking the basket, they were not able to hit the shots that they put up.
 
Osseo’s Wheeler Baker came up with a nice one-handed slam dunk that gave his team confidence.
 
On the next play Baker came up with another nice slam dunk. Coon Rapids called a timeout with
13:42 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 18, Coon Rapids 2.
 
Baker was also able to step outside of the three-point line and nail some deep three-point shots. His teammates were not afraid to pass him the ball anywhere on the floor. Baker did a good job of knowing where he was on the floor.
 
Coon Rapids wasn’t afraid to shoot the ball even though that they had difficulty shooting it. The
 
Osseo defense gave Coon Rapids fits on the offensive end.
 
Osseo’s Allen Anderson did a good job of bringing the ball down the floor. He got his team’s offense going as he shouted out plays that he wanted run. Osseo did a good job of taking time off the clock on offense as they passed the ball around the three-point line.
 
Coon Rapids was not able to slow down Osseo on the offensive end. They seemed to get flustered by the amount of pressure that Osseo applied.
 
Osseo was able to score baskets in transition. They used their quickness to get fast breaks.
 
At halftime the score was Osseo 61, Coon Rapids 20.
 
As the second half got underway Osseo continued to pass the ball around the three-point line to take time off the clock.
 
Ian Theisen shot a free throw with just under 15:00 left in regulation to become the all-time leading scorer in Osseo history.
 
Coon Rapids Sam Carver made shots for his team. His teammates got him the ball inside the three point line and he was able to make his jump shots.
 
Coon Rapids switched between man-to-man and zone defense throughout the second half. Osseo was still able to make shots that they put up.
 
Osseo’s Connor Kittleson got the ball inside and was able to make lay-ups. His teammates fed him the ball when he was on the low post and he took the ball strong to the basket.
 
Osseo ran away with the 94-35 victory over Coon Rapids.
 
The leading scorers for Coon Rapids were Sam Carver with 10 points, Timmy Nguyen with 8 points, and Jeremy Becker with 7 points.
 
The leading scorers for Osseo were Baker with 28, Theisen with 18, and Dembley with 12.

OSSEO TOOK ON ARMSTRONG IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

Osseo and Armstrong went up against each other in a boys basketball game on Dec. 20. Osseo looked to push the ball down the floor and get baskets in transition.
 
Osseo looked to get the ball into the hands of Wheeler Baker. Baker was all over the floor. On the offensive end he was able to step up and knock down some big shots. On the defensive end, Baker was able to slow down the guy he was guarding.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the first half.  Neither team was able to go on a run.
 
Osseo did a good job of moving the ball down the floor. They were able to get the ball into the hands of Allen Ernest Anderson. Anderson was able to make some jump shots inside the three-point line.  
 
Ian Theisen scored nine straight for Osseo before Armstrong called a timeout with 7:58 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 22, Armstrong 11.
 
Osseo’s Anderson was all over the floor. He came off the bench and provided a lot enthusiasm on both ends of the floor.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 6:03 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 25, Armstrong 16.
 
Armstrong’s Jerome Dixon  came up with some jump shots to keep Armstrong in the game. Neither team went on a run in the first half.
 
Armstrong continued to look for their shots late in the first half. They were not able to hit shots down the stretch.
 
At halftime the score was Osseo 39, Armstrong 29.
 
Ryan Casperson for Armstrong came up with some big shots for his team. He was able to shoot the ball from everywhere on the floor. He was not afraid to shoot it from behind the three-point line.
 
Teammates Jerome Burnes and Evan Nolen stepped up and knocked down shots to keep Armstrong in the game.
 
Baker received a technical foul midway through the second half.
 
Armstrong took the lead midway through the second half. They were up as much as five points in the second half.
 
The score went back and forth late in the contest. Neither team was able to go on a run. Both Theisen and Baker continued to hit shots down the stretch for Osseo.
 
The score went back and forth late in the contest. There were many ties and lead changes late in the first half.
 
It was a hard fought game. Neither team gave up easy baskets. Nolan seemed to hit a basket at the buzzer but it was waived off. The game was tied at 71 after regulation.
 
Both teams continued to attack the basket in the overtime period.  Armstrong stung baskets together late in the overtime period as they came away with the 84-79 victory over Osseo in a very entertaining game.
 
The leading scorers for Osseo were Baker with 41 points, and Theisen with 21 points and Jordan Dembley fished with 7 points.
 
The leading scorers for Armstrong were Burns and Nolen earlier each with 22 points.

BUFFALO TOOK ON OSSEO IN A BOYS BASKETBALL GAME

On Dec. 12, Buffalo and Osseo went up against each other in a boys basketball game.
 
Osseo looked to get baskets in transition to start the game. They got up 5-2 with 15:35.
 
Buffalo looked to push the ball in transition but they were not able to get their shots to fall.
 
Buffalo called a timeout with 14:01 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 10, Buffalo 2.
 
Osseo was able to get fast break baskets. Buffalo was not able to slow Osseo down on offense.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 12:04 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 14, Buffalo 6.
 
Osseo’s Wheeler Baker made some nice passes to his teammates and was able to get them into spots where they could shoot it. If he was not able to shoot a shot that he wanted to take he wouldn’t be afraid to pass it to one of his teammates. Baker was able to find teammate Allen Anderson for open shots throughout the contest. Anderson was not afraid to shoot the ball.
 
Ian Theisen came up with some nice shots. His teammates passed him the ball in the lane where he would come up with some nice jump shots and layups.
 
Jordan Dembley for Osseo swung the ball around the three-point line. Dembley was not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor.
 
Buffalo played mostly zone defense in the first half.  
 
The score at halftime was Osseo 47 Buffalo 25.
 
As the second half got underway Osseo continued to push the ball down the floor as they looked to make baskets in transition.
 
Buffalo got balanced scoring production out of Thomas Bean, Cory Thielman and Josh Braxton.
 
Baker was able to run the Osseo offense. He was able to get everyone involved on the offensive end.
 
Buffalo was not able to get anything going on the offensive end in the second half.
 
Osseo was too quick for Buffalo. Osseo came away with the 88-67 victory over Buffalo.
 
The leading scorers for Buffalo were Cory Thielman with 17 points, Bean 14 and Braxton with 10 points.
 
The leading scorers for Osseo were Baker and Theisen each with 23 points and Anderson with 11 points.

APPLE VALLEY TOOK ON OSSEO IN A MINNETONKA FALL LEAGUE BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

Apple Valley and Osseo went up against each other in the Minnetonka boys’ basketball league. There was a lot of fans watching the game that made for a great atmosphere.
 
The score went back and forth for good period of time. Osseo’s Wheeler Baker was all over the floor for his team. He did a good job of bringing the ball down the court and getting everyone involved in the offense.
 
Apple Valley guard Tyus Jones got his team into an offensive rhythm. He did a good job of communicating on the floor to his teammates. He made sure that they knew where they were supposed to be on the court at all time.  
 
Osseo used both man-to-man and zone defense as they looked to slow down the Apple Valley offense. They were not able to do that however as Osseo was able to get some good looks at the basket.  
 
Neither team went on a run in the first half.  
 
Osseo guard Allen Anderson was all over the floor. He was able to get past the Apple Valley guards.
 
Anderson and Tyus Jones faced each other a few times.
 
Tyus’ brother Trey Jones was all over the floor. He was quick as he was able to get to the basket and make layups untouched.
 
At halftime the score was Apple Valley 37, Osseo 26.
 
As the second half got underway both teams continued to make shots.   
 
Tyus was smart with the ball. He came up with some nice assists as he always knew where his teammates were on the floor.
 
Apple Valley shut down the Osseo offense in the second half. Osseo had difficulty scoring for a good portion of the second half.
 
Tyus Jones looked very good with the ball. He moved the ball around the floor and was not afraid to pass the ball to his teammates if he thought that they had a better shot than he did.
 
In a game that was hard fought by both teams Apple Valley came away with the 72-51 victory over Osseo.
