MINNESOTA STATE MOORHEAD WENT UP AGAINST CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A FOOTBALL GAME

It was homecoming on the campus of Concordia University-St. Paul on Oct. 12, Minnesota State Moorhead went up against Concordia St. Paul in a football game. The weather to start the game was cold and there were snow flurries. Going into the game Moorhead had a record of 3-2 and Concordia also had a record of 3-2.

Concordia kicked off to start the game. Moorhead took over on their own 35-yard line. Moorhead kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. Moorhead started Mathew Plasterer at quarterback. On 4th-and-15 Moorhead punted.

Concordia took over on their own 29-yard line. Maxon Hutton started at quarterback for Concordia. Hutton used his speed to get past the defenders for a first down. Concordia’s Maxon Hutton completed a 28-yard pass to Darios Crawley-Reid for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.

With 8:42 left in the first quarter, the score was Concordia 7, Moorhead 0.

Moorhead looked to move the ball down the field once again. The Concordia defense came up big as they were able to slow down the Moorhead offense. On 4th-and-14, Moorhead punted. They muffed the ball and Concordia took over on the 1-yard line.

Concordia took over on the 1yard line and Shaq Johnson came up with a 1-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good by Danny Laudet was good.

The ball went into the end zone and Moorhead got the ball on their own 25-yard line. Moorhead fumbled the ball, but they recovered the ball.

UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS WENT UP AGAINST CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Sept. 5, the University of Sioux Falls went up against Concordia St. Paul in a football game. The game was played on the campus of Concordia St. Paul at Sea Foam Stadium.

Concordia kicked off and Sioux Falls recovered on their own 25-yard line. Sioux Falls looked to get the ball down the field quickly as they used both the passing and running attack. Sioux Falls quarterback Caden Walters knew where his receivers were on the field. Sioux Falls found the end zone on a 5-yard run by Caden Walters. The extra point attempt was good. With 13:39 left in the first quarter the score was Sioux Falls 7, Concordia St. Paul 0.

Concordia St. Paul got the ball on their own 20-yard line. Concordia’s Maxon Hutton came up with big runs that got the Concordia first downs. Hutton found receiver MJ Williams for a first down on the 28-yard line. Jeremiah Pierce-Jonson came up with a first down run. Concordia mixed their running and passing attack. On 4th-and-3 Concordia went for a first down. There was a delay of game penalty on Concordia and on 4th-and-8 with the ball on the 13-yard line Concordia’s Danny Laudet came up a field goal.

With 7:46 left in the first quarter the score was Sioux Falls 7, Concordia St. Paul 3.

Sioux Falls took over on their own 25-yard line. Sioux Falls’ Ja’Tai Jenkins came up with another short run for a first down. Sioux Falls fumbled the ball in the end zone and Concordia took over on their own 20-yard line.

Concordia’s Jabri Clewis came up with a huge reception to the ball on the Sioux Falls 43-yard line. Hutton found Kevin Vantura-Cortes for a first down. Concordia moved the ball down the field fluently. Hutton kept the ball and found the holes on the defense.

After one of the first quarter the score was Sioux Falls 7, Concordia St. Paul 3.

On 4th-and-8, Concordia’ Laudet, Danny kicked a 29-yard field goal which was good. With 14:48 left in the second quarter the score was Sioux Falls 7, Concordia St. Paul 6.

Sioux Falls took over on their own 28-yard line. Sioux Falls Jenkins kept on getting the ball and was able to make short runs down the field. Walters again was able to elude the defense. On 4th-and-8 Sioux Falls elected to punt the ball but there was a false start on Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls punted the ball on 4-th-and- 13. Concordia-St. Paul muffed the ball and came up with the ball on the Sioux Falls 22-yard line.

Concordia’s Marcus Gustaveveson came up with a 23-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good.

With 11:45 left in the second quarter the score was Concordia St. Paul 13, Sioux Falls 7.

Sioux Falls got the ball on their down 25-yard line. Sioux Falls kept the ball on the ground on that drive. The Concordia defense came up big as they were able to stop the Sioux Falls offense. Sioux Falls punted on 4th-and-11.

Concordia took over on their own 41-yard line. Concordia couldn’t move the ball, and they elected to punt on 4th-and-6.

Sioux Falls took over on their own 25-yard line. Sioux Falls ran the ball down the field. The defensive pressure that Concordia applied made it difficult for Sioux Falls to get open looks at players. Ty Smith came up with a first down reception through traffic.

Clint Sigg came up with a clutch catch that moved the ball down the field. On 4th-and-7 Sioux Falls punted the ball but there was a flag on Sioux Falls, and they punted again on 4th-and-12.

Concordia got the ball on their own 10-yard line. They moved the ball on the ground as Lajuan Preston came up with a 36-yard run. MJ Williams came up with a first down reception. Hutton found MJ Williams for a 33-yard touchdown reception. Danny Laudt’s extra point attempt was good.

With 1:35 left in the second quarter the scow was Concordia 20, Sioux Falls 7.

Sioux Falls took over on their own 29-yard line. Sioux Falls looked to get into the end zone late in the second quarter.

Sioux Falls took a timeout with 52.8 seconds left in the second quarter. Sioux Falls Thomas Chapin punt was blocked and recovered by Concordia’s Kendricks, Lorenzo blocked the punt and ran it back for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.

Sioux Falls couldn’t move the ball after the touchdown, and they let the clock run out.

Sioux Falls kicked off to start the third quarter. Concordia took over on their own 36-yard line. Concordia looked to move the ball down the field quickly to start the third quarter. On 4th-and-7 Concordia punted the ball.

Sioux Falls took over on their own 25-yard line. Sioux Falls Mason Laramie looked to get past the Concordia defense. Sioux Falls Max Sturdevant came up with a 44-yard run for a first down. Sioux Falls kept moving the ball down the field. Caden Walters passed to Ja'Tai Jenkins for a10 yard touchdown. Daniel Esparza’s kick attempt was good.

With 11:20 left in the third quarter the score was Concordia 27, Sioux Falls 14.

Sioux Falls took over on their own 33-yard line. Sioux Falls tried to move the ball down the field and Walters came up with a 59-yard run. The defense stepped up and on 4th-and-2 Daniel Esparza field goal attempt on the 2-yard line was good.

With 6:35 left in the third quarter the score was Concordia 27, Sioux Falls 17.

Concordia couldn’t move the ball on offense, and they turned it over on downs.

Concordia kept on moving the ball down the field. On 4th-and-five Concordia punted the ball.

Sioux Falls continued to look to get into the end zone as they kept on mixing the passing and rushing attacks. Sioux Falls turned the ball over on downs.

Sioux Falls took over on their own 16-yard line. The Concordia defense once again stepped up. And Sioux Falls went for it on 4-14. They were not able to come up with a first down and they turned the ball over on downs.

Concordia’s Lajuan Preston came up with a 7-yard touchdown run. Danny Lauder’s extra point attempt was good.

With 4:20 left in regulation the score was Concordia 41, Sioux Falls 17.

Sioux Falls took over on their own 19-yard line. Sioux Falls looked to get the ball down the field again, but they had problems moving the ball. Sioux Falls turned the ball over on downs.

Concordia ran out the clock with 1:00 left in regulation.

Concordia came away with the 41-17 victory over Sioux Falls.

UPPER IOWA WENT UP AGAINST CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Oct. 15 Upper Iowa and Concordia St. Paul squared off in a football game. Going into the game

Upper Iowa had an overall record of 1-5 while Concordia had an overall record of 2-4.

 

Upper Iowa kicked off to start. Concordia started on their own 25-yard line. Concordia quarterback Ron Johnson looked to get his running backs into the offense early. Concordia’s Gabe Steed came up with a first down reception. Upper Iowa’s Eric Munoz came up with an interception.

 

Upper Iowa took over on the Concordia’s 34-yard line. Upper Iowa started quarterback Brent Lammers. Upper Iowa was able to move the ball down the field. Lammers came up with 7-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good.

 

With 10:31 left in the first quarter the score was Upper Iowa 7, Concordia St. Paul 0.

 

Concordia started on their own 26-yard line. Concordia’s DeCeon Schumann came up with a first down reception. Darnell Rolle also came up with some big runs that moved the sticks. Upper Iowa looked to slow down the Concordia offense. Upper Iowa’s Jojo Simpson came up with a 50-yard interception return and came up with a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.

Upper Iowa continued to move the ball down the field and looked to get into the end zone. Lammers found the end zone on a 22-yard run. The extra-point attempt was good.

Concordia couldn’t move the ball down the field and they elected to punt the ball on 4th-and-7.

UNIVERSITY OF MARY WENT UP AGAINST CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A FOOTBALL GAME

At Seafoam Stadium on the campus of Concordia University St. Paul the University of Mary and Concordia squared off in a football game on Sep. 3. It was the opening game for each team.

 

Mary kicked off to start the game. Concordia’s Alquawn Vickers came up with a huge reception. Concordia looked keep the ball on ground on their first drive.

 

Concordia couldn’t get the ball moving and they attempted a 43-yard field goal attempt which was good. With 10:57 left in the first quarter the score was Concordia 3, Mary 0.

 

Mary kept the ball on the ground as they looked to get the ball to Zach Podoll. Marry couldn’t move the ball down the field and they punted the ball on 4th down.

 

Concordia’s Darius Chapes came up with a huge run for a first down. They couldn’t move the ball down the field and the drive stalled out and they had to punt on 4th down.

 

Mary couldn’t move the ball down the field and they punted the ball on 4th-and-6.

 

Concordia couldn’t move the ball down the field so they punted the ball on 4th down.

The Concordia defense stepped up and slowed down the Mary offense. Mary punted the ball on 4th down. There was a penalty on Concordia so Mary kept the ball.

Mary got the ball back on their own 40-yard line. Mary kept the ball on the ground as they looked to get a first down on 4th-and-3. The Concordia defense stepped up big and stopped the Mary offense.

 

Mary turned the ball over on downs.

 

Concordia couldn’t move the ball down the field and they had to punt the ball on 4th-and-17.

 

Mary kept the ball on the ground and ran short running routes down the field.

Concordia got the ball back to start the fourth quarter. Concordia looked to get into the end zone in the fourth quarter.

 

Concordia called a timeout with 11:01 left in the fourth quarter. The score was Concordia 3, Mary 0.

 

Concordia continued to get the ball down the field. Chapes came up with a huge play with a 17-yard reception. That brought the ball to the 1-yard line. Chapes came up with a 1-yard touchdown run.

 

The extra point attempt was good.

 

With 9:55 left in the fourth quarter the score was Concordia 10, Mary 0.

 

Mary continued to try to get the ball past the Concordia’s defense. Mary came up with a first down.

 

Connor Graves kept on coming up with first downs on the ground. Mary went for it on 4th-and-28 but the pass was incomplete. Mary was turned over on downs.

 

Concordia took over on their own 49-yard line. Alex Carr came up with a 36-yard run for a first down. Quarterback Ron Johnson kept the ball and looked to get into the end zone. Johnson came up with an 8-yard touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.

 

With 1:22 left in the fourth quarter the score was Concordia 17, Mary 0.

 

Mary got the ball back on their own 34-yard line. Mary ran out the clock.

 

Concordia came away with the 17-0 victory over Mary.

AUGUSTANA COLLEGE TOOK ON CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Nov. 8 Augustana College out of Sioux Falls, SD went up against Concordia-St. Paul in a football game. Augustana had a record of 5-4 in the NSIC and were 2-3 in the South division. Concordia St. Paul had a record of 3-6 in the NSIC and were 2-3 in the South division.  

Augustana kicked off to start the game. Concordia started on their own 15-yard line. Concordia looked to get the ball into the hands of running back Tre Spears. Quarterback Ben Schramski did a good job of knowing what plays what plays he wanted ran. Schramski was able to get some running room as he came up with a five-yard rush. They were not able to get a first down so on fourth-and four Concordia punted it.

Augustana took over on their own 25-yard line. Augustana's running back CJ Ham came up with a huge run for a first down.

Concordia called a timeout with 10 minutes left in the first quarter.

Heid was able to get the ball into his receivers. Heid was intercepted by Jimmy Mireri.

Concordia took over on the 43-yard line after the Mireri interception. Spears ran eight yards for a first down. The Augustana defense stepped up the pressure as the quarterback had difficult time moving in the pocket. Spears fumbled the ball on the 2-yard line. Augustana recovered it.

Augustana took over on their own 2-yard line. Heid came up with a 27-yard run. Heid was intercepted by Concordia’s Abdullah Asad. Concordia took over on their own 39-yard line.

Concordia couldn’t move the ball. They punted on fourth-and-five.

Augustana took over on their own 8-yard line. Augustana’s running back Dajon Newell came up with a 47-yard run.

After one quarter of play the score was tied at 0.

Augustana had to punt on fourth-and-eight.

Concordia took over on their own 21-yard line. Concordia running back Darius Chapes got the ball and was able to come up with a 44-yard run for a first down. Spears came up with a first down on a short run. On the next play Spears came up with a 15-yard touchdown run.

The extra-point attempt by Tom Obarski was good.

With 10:27 left in the second quarter the score was Concordia 7, Augustana 0.

Augustana continued to get the ball into the hands of Ham. Heid was taken down by the defense.

Ham picked up a first down on a 12-yard screen pass. On fourth-and-six Augustana punted the ball.

Spears came up with a first down on a 56-yard run. On fourth-and-26 yards to go Concordia attempted a 43-yard field goal and it was no good.

Augustana looked to keep the ball in Heid’s hands. On fourth-and-11 Augustana punted it.

Concordia took over on their own 45-yard line.

At halftime the score was Concordia 7, Augustana 0.

Concordia kicked off to start the third quarter. Augustana took over on their own 21-yard line. Ham caught a 14-yard pass for a first down. The defense slowed down the Augustana offense on the first drive. Augustana punted on fourth-and-12.

Concordia took over on their own 24-yard line. Spears looked to move the ball down the field but the defense was able to bottle him up. On fourth-and-13 Concordia punted the ball.

Augustana took over on the 46-yard line. Augustana’s Nick Lee came up with a nice catch. They did a good job of switching between the passing and running attack. Newell came up with a 16-yard first down reception. On fourth-and-eight Augustana attempted a 43-yard attempt which was no good.

Concordia took over on their 26-yard line. Concordia couldn’t move the ball and punted the ball on fourth-and-long.

Augustana tried to use some trickery late in the third quarter. They were not able to get a first down and turned it over on downs.

Spears came up with a six-yard run for a first down. Concordia continued to move the ball down the field.

Concordia looked to get into the end zone early in the fourth quarter. On fourth-and-4 Obarski attempted a 34-yard field goal which was good.

With 12:09 left in the fourth quarter the score was Concordia 10, Augustana 0.

Augustana looked to the passing game again. They had a difficult time getting their passing game on track. Matt Heller came up with a 48-yard reception. Matt Gerry came up with a 14-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was good.

With 9:22 left in the fourth quarter the score was Concordia 10, Augustana 7.

Concordia came up with a huge run by Spears for 30 yards Concordia came up with a first down on a huge reception by Cordell Smith. Spears came up with a 14-yard touchdown run.

The extra-point attempt was good.

With 4:25 left in the fourth quarter the score was Concordia 17, Augustana 7.

Augustana looked to move the ball down the field quickly. As they looked to get into the end zone.

Concordia’s Jordan Nieuwsma came up with an interception. On fourth-and-seven Concordia punted the ball. The punt was block.

Augustana took over on the nine yard. On fourth-and-13 Augustana attempted a 29-yard field goal.

The field goal was no good.

Spears played well thought out the game. The Concordia offense was able to beat the defense down the field. Concordia’s Cordell Smith came up with some big catches throughout the game.

Concordia came away with the 17-7 victory over Augustana.
