UPPER IOWA WENT UP AGAINST CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Oct. 15 Upper Iowa and Concordia St. Paul squared off in a football game. Going into the game
Upper Iowa had an overall record of 1-5 while Concordia had an overall record of 2-4.
 
Upper Iowa kicked off to start. Concordia started on their own 25-yard line. Concordia quarterback Ron Johnson looked to get his running backs into the offense early. Concordia’s Gabe Steed came up with a first down reception. Upper Iowa’s Eric Munoz came up with an interception.
 
Upper Iowa took over on the Concordia’s 34-yard line. Upper Iowa started quarterback Brent Lammers. Upper Iowa was able to move the ball down the field. Lammers came up with 7-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 10:31 left in the first quarter the score was Upper Iowa 7, Concordia St. Paul 0.
 
Concordia started on their own 26-yard line. Concordia’s DeCeon Schumann came up with a first down reception. Darnell Rolle also came up with some big runs that moved the sticks. Upper Iowa looked to slow down the Concordia offense. Upper Iowa’s Jojo Simpson came up with a 50-yard interception return and came up with a touchdown. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 6:12 left in the first quarter the score was Upper Iowa 14, Concordia St. Paul 0.
 
Concordia started on their own 25-yard line.
 
Concordia called a timeout with 5:28 left in the first quarter the score Upper Iowa 14, Concordia St. Paul 0.
 
Concordia looked to move the ball down the field. On 4th-and-26 Concordia elected to punt.
 
Upper Iowa took over on their own 15-yard line. Upper Iowa had trouble moving the ball down the field. Then Lammers came up with a huge run. Trey McTaggart came up with a 56-yard reception.
 
After one quarter of play the score was Upper Iowa 14, Concordia St. Paul 0.
 
Upper Iowa’s Ryan Parmely came up with a 6-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good. With 14:56 left in the second quarter the score was Upper Iowa 21, Concordia St. Paul 0.
 
Concordia took over on their own 22-yard line. Concordia wasn’t able to move the ball down the field and they punted on 4th down.
 
Concordia’s Johnson found Rolle in the end zone for a 27-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was good. With 10:21 left in the second quarter the score was Upper Iowa 21, Concordia St. Paul 7.
 
Upper Iowa continued to move the ball down the field and looked to get into the end zone. Lammers found the end zone on a 22-yard run. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 6:13 left in the third quarter the score was Upper Iowa 28, Concordia St. Paul 7.
 
Concordia couldn’t move the ball down the field and they elected to punt the ball on 4th-and-7.
 
Upper Iowa was intercepted by Jamie Fore. Then Concordia got the ball back on an interception.
 
Alex Carr looked to get the ball into the end zone. On 4th-and-9 Concordia went for it. Carr came up with a 9-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 2:10 left in the second quarter the score was Upper Iowa 28, Concordia St. Paul 14.
 
Upper Iowa didn’t move the ball late in the quarter.
 
At halftime the score was Upper Iowa 28, Concordia St. Paul 14.
 
Upper Iowa got the ball to start the third game. Upper Iowa got the ball on their own 25-yard line.
Upper Iowa punted on 4th down.
 
Concordia continued to look to switch up between the run game and the passing game. On 4th-and-9 Concordia punted the ball.
 
Upper Iowa kept the ball on the ground as they looked to move the chains. Upper Iowa’s Brady Beuschel attempt a 23-yard field goal which was good.
 
With 7:00 left in the third quarter the score was Upper Iowa 31, Concordia St. Paul 14.
 
Concordia punted the ball on 4th down. Upper Iowa kept looking to get the ball into the red zone.

With 1:41 left in the third quarter the score was Upper Iowa 34, Concordia St. Paul 14.
 
Concordia looked to the air late in the third quarter.
 
After three quarters of play the score was Upper Iowa 34, Concordia St. Paul 14.
 
Concordia found the end zone on a Ron Johnson to DeCecon Schumann19-yard touchdown reception. The extra-point attempt by Jonas Schenderlein, was good.
 
With 12:48 left in the fourth quarter the score was Upper Iowa 34, Concordia St. Paul 21.
 
Upper Iowa kept the ball on the ground. Upper Iowa continued to move the ball down the field. They found the end zone on a Ryan Parmely 1-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt was good.
 
With 8:58 left in the fourth quarter the score was Upper Iowa 41, Concordia St. Paul 21.
 
Concordia went for it on 4th-and-9 yards to go. They were able to get a first down on a Marcus
Gustaveson 15-yard reception. Concordia turned the ball over on downs.

UPPER IOWA UNIVERSITY TOOK ON CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY ST. PAUL IN A WOMEN’S BASKETBALL GAME

Upper Iowa University traveled to St. Paul, Minnesota to take on Concordia University for a
women’s basketball game. Upper Iowa came into the game with a record of 1-11. Concordia St.
Paul came into the game with a record of 4-8.

Concordia St. Paul started the game in a man-to-man defense. Upper Iowa also started the game
in a man-to-man defense.
 
Concordia St. Paul looked to take time off the shot clock as they passed the ball around the threepoint
line and looked to find their shots with about 10 seconds left on the shot clock.
 
With 17:38 left to go in the first half the score was tied at 2 points each.
 
Concordia St. Paul went to a full court press and they were able to disrupt Upper Iowa in their
offense.
 
Concordia St. Paul did a good job of getting everyone involved in the play.
 
Upper Iowa’s Cassandra Deiters was able to make her shots that she put up. Deiters was not
afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. Her teammates did a good job of setting her
up to make good shots in the first half.
 
With 8:55 left to go at the first media timeout the score was Concordia St. Paul 17 and Upper
Iowa 14.
 
Concordia St. Paul went to a zone defense after the timeout. They were able to come out and
score some quick baskets. Upper Iowa didn’t back down. They kept on going after them.
 
Upper Iowa switched up between man-to-man defense and a zone defense. They wanted to keep
 
Concordia St. Paul guessing on what they were going to do.
 
Concordia St. Paul continued to make their shots late in the first half.
 
At halftime the score was Concordia St. Paul 37 and Upper Iowa University 21.
 
Concordia St. Paul started out the second half in a man-to-man defense. They wanted to slow
down Upper Iowa University on the offensive end.
 
Upper Iowa kept on shooting the ball in the second half. They didn’t get down on them self’s.
They kept on looking for their shots.
 
Concordia St. Paul’s Maurika Hickman who shot the ball well in the first half continued to shoot
the ball well and make shots throughout the second half.
 
With 9:50 left to go in regulation the score was Concordia St. Paul 63 and Upper Iowa 34.
 
Upper Iowa was not able to make their shots throughout the game. They kept battling throughout
the game.
 
Concordia St. Paul also kept on taking the ball strong to the basket.
 
Upper Iowa went on a run with 7:00 left to go in regulation. The score with 6:00 left to go was
Concordia St. Paul 66 and Upper Iowa 41.

Both teams battled to the end of the game but Concordia was just too much for Upper Iowa.
 
They were able to come away with the 77-54 victory over Upper Iowa. For Upper Iowa they were lead in scoring by Cassandra Deiters who had 12 points. They shot 19-51 from the field and 14-17
from the free throw line.

For Concordia St. Paul they were lead in scoring by Maurika Hickman with 21 points, Jineen
Williams with 17 points and Jodi Batzel with 12 points. They shot 28-54 from the field and shot
and 13-21 from the free throw line.

CONCORDIA ST. PAUL TOOK ON UPPER IOWA IN A NSIC FOOTBALL MATCHUP


The Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears took on the Upper Iowa Peacocks at Sea Foam Stadium in a NSIC football match up. Concordia had a record of 6-3 overall and were 5-3 in the conference. Upper Iowa had a record of 2-6 in the conference and they were 2-7 overall.


Upper Iowa kicked off to Concordia. Upper Iowa tried an onside kick but Concordia received the ball. Concordia started on their 49-yard line. They kept the ball on the ground on the first drive of the game. Concordia was able to get a first down. They were successful on little short routes. Concordia was able to get into the red zone.


Concordia’s Tre Spears found the end zone on a one yard touchdown run with 10:17 left in the first quarter. The extra point attempt was good.


With 10:17 left to go in the first quarter the score was Concordia St. Paul 7 and Upper Iowa 0.


Concordia St. Paul kicked off to Upper Iowa after the touchdown. Upper Iowa got the ball on the 40- yard line. Upper Iowa looked to get the ball into Sam Epsteen’s hands. Sam Epsteen is Upper Iowa’s running back. He was very quick on his feet. Concordia St. Paul’s defense stepped up as they were able to get into the faces of the Upper Iowa players. Upper Iowa was not able to get a first down and they had to punt the ball back to Concordia St. Paul.


Concordia St. Paul got the ball back and they were able to get a first down. Concordia St. Paul’s quarterback James Petterson was able to find his receivers. He knew where to position the football to get it to his players.


Concordia St. Paul threatened to score again as they were able to get into the red zone. Sam Camble scored on a 3 yard touchdown run. The extra point was good.


Upper Iowa got the ball back after the Concordia St. Paul touchdown. They were not able to get a first down. Upper Iowa had to punt the ball back to Concordia St. Paul.


At the end of the first quarter the score was Concordia St. Paul 14 and Upper Iowa 0.


On the first play of the second quarter Concordia St. Paul Charles Gilbert received a 60 yard reception pass for a touchdown. The extra point was good. With 14:51 left to go in the second quarter it was Concordia St. Paul 21 and Upper Iowa 0.


Upper Iowa got the ball after the Concordia St. Paul touchdown. Upper Iowa was not able to get a first down and they had to punt the ball back to Concordia St. Paul.


Concordia St. Paul kept the ball on the ground. They were able to get another first down. Spencer Ohm did a good job of finding his receivers. His receivers were able to get first downs throughout the first half. Spencer Ohm was able to find Charls Gilbert for a touchdown reception with 9:33 left to go in the second quarter. The extra point attempt was good.


With 9:33 left to go in the second quarter the score was Concordia St. Paul 28 and Upper Iowa 0.


Upper Iowa got the ball back and they looked to keep the ball on the ground. Concordia St. Paul’s defense stepped up and they slowed the Upper Iowa’s offense. Upper Iowa was not able to get a first down again and they had to punt the ball to Concordia St. Paul.


Concordia looked to get another first down. They were not able to do that on that series and they had to punt the ball back to Upper Iowa.


Upper Iowa got the ball on the 15-yard line. Upper Iowa kept the ball in the hands of Sam Epsteen’s hands. Sam Epsteen was able to get a first down for Upper Iowa. They looked to the short passes late in the second quarter. Upper Iowa was not able to get a first down and they had to punt the ball back to Concordia St. Paul.


Concordia St. Paul got the ball on their 14 yard line. Upper Iowa had a personal foul and that gave Concordia St. Paul a first down. Charles Gilbert came up with a nice catch for a first down.


Concordia St. Paul looked to score late in the quarter. They wanted to get into the end zone. Spencer Ohm found Zach Hovey for an 8 yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good. With 24.8 seconds left in the second quarter the score was Concordia St. Paul 35 and Upper Iowa 0.


At halftime the score was Concordia St. Paul 35 and Upper Iowa 0.


Concordia St. Paul kicked the ball off to Upper Iowa to begin the third quarter. Upper Iowa looked to throw the ball in the beginning of the third quarter. Upper Iowa fumbled the football and Jake Vann came for Concorida game up with the ball and ran it into the end zone for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good. With 14:08 left to go in the third quarter the score was Concordia St. Paul 42 and Upper Iowa 0.


Concordia St. Paul kicked the ball off to Upper Iowa after the touchdown. Upper Iowa looked to keep the ball in Sam Epsteen’s hands. John Baldwin caught a deep ball for a first down for Upper Iowa.


Upper Iowa scored a touchdown with 9:24 left to go in the third quarter.


With that touchdown the score was Concordia St. Paul 42 and Upper Iowa 7.


Concordia St. Paul got the ball back after the Upper Iowa touchdown. Concordia St. Paul looked to keep moving the chains as they wanted to tack on another touchdown. Concordia St. Paul was intercepted by Upper Iowa.


Upper Iowa was not able to get a first down and they had to punt the ball back to Concordia St. Paul.


Concordia St. Paul looked to the air midway through the third quarter as they continued to have success on getting short yards that lead to first downs.


Concordia St. Paul looked to get the ball into the end zone. Sam Campbell found the end zone for a touchdown on a 13 yard run. The extra point attempt was good.


With 3:14 left to go in the third quarter the score Concordia St. Paul 49 and Upper Iowa 7.


Concordia St. Paul kicked off to Upper Iowa after the touchdown. Upper Iowa could not get a first down and they had to punt the ball back to Concordia St. Paul.


At the end of the third quarter the score was Concordia St. Paul 49 and Upper Iowa 7.


As the fourth quarter got underway the Concordia St. Paul continued to look good in the fourth quarter. They continued to do what they were able to do best. They kept on pounding the ball down the middle of the field.


Concordia St. Paul threatened to score late in the fourth quarter. With 3:23 left to go in the contest Jerry Saw got a short yard touchdown. The extra point attempt was good.


With 3:23 left to go in the contest the score was Concordia St. Paul 56 and Upper Iowa 7.


Concordia St. Paul came away with the 56-7 victory over Upper Iowa.
