ST. AGNES WENT UP AGAINST HOLY ANGELS IN A BOYS' JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME
Holy Angels looked to push the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition. They did a good job of passing the ball and getting everyone involved in the offense.
St. Agnes called a timeout with 13:43 left in the first half. The score was Holy Angels 7, St. Agnes 0.
Holy Angels came up with mid-range jump shots and layups throughout the first half. St. Agnes had a difficult time scoring the basket in the first half. They were not able to make shots that they put up.
Even though St. Agnes had a difficult time scoring they kept on attacking the basket and looking to take mid-range jump shots and layups.
Holy Angels looked to take time off the clock as they passed the ball around the 3-point line. St. Agnes tried many different defenses throughout the first half.
Holy Angles did a good job of communicating with each other on the floor. They knew were each other was on the court always.
At halftime, the score was Holy Angels 37, St. Agnes 12.
Both teams started out the second half slow as neither of them could come up with baskets.
St. Agnes called a timeout with 14:42 left in regulation. The score was Holy Angels 37, St. Agnes 12.
Holy Angels looked to take time off the clock in the second half. They passed the ball around the 3-point line and took that extra pass late in their offense.
St. Agnes went into a scoring drought in the second half. They couldn’t make a shot for a period.
St. Agnes called a timeout with 11:32 left in regulation. The score was Holy Angels 44, St. Agnes 12.
Holy Angels was too much for St. Agnes. St. Agnes struggled to shoot the ball for a period and Holy Angels took advantage of that by getting to the basket with ease.
Holy Angels came away with the 68-16 victory over St. Agnes.

BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S TOOK ON HOLY ANGELS IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL CONTEST
Holy Angels looked to take a lot of time off the clock on their first few possessions. They passed the ball around the perimeter. Benilde-St. Margaret’s did a good job of getting their hands into the passing lanes and deflecting the passes.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s started the game in man-to-man then they switched right into a zone defense. They wanted to keep Holy Angels from getting the ball inside.
Evan Battle came off the bench for Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Battle did a good job of going after loose balls on both ends of the court.
Neither team was able to make shots that they were putting up. They didn’t panic. Both teams applied full court pressure.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s looked to trap the ball. That didn’t seem to bother Holy Angels at all as they were able to break the trapping pressure.
Battle was very aggressive on the defense end. He was in his opponents’ face and was able to alter his shot.
Holy Angels ran a motion offense. They used a lot of passing and cutting. Holy Angles wanted to take a lot of time off the clock.
The score went back and forth in the first half. Both teams had their trouble slowing each other down and stepping up and defending the three point shooters.
Sanjay Lumpkin was all over the court for Benilde-St. Margaret’s. He dove on the floor after loose balls and he was directing traffic telling his players where they should be on the offense end.
Holy Angels’ Alex Anderson did a good job off the bench running the offence. He took his time and he created a lot of one-on-one opportunities. Anderson did a good job of getting past his defender and taking it strong to the basket.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s went on a run late in the half. Holy Angels was not able to score baskets for a period of time late in the half. Benilde-St. Margaret’s was able to take advantage of that as they were able to find the basket.
The first half was very physical. Both teams got after it on both ends of the court.
At halftime the score was Benilde-St. Margaret’s 18 and Holy Angels 14.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s came out aggressively in a man-to-man defense to start the second half. Holy Angels had a hard time getting into their offense in the second half. Benilde-St. Margaret’s pressure was too much.
Zierden came up big in the second half. He was able to knock down some long-range three-point shots and keep Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the game.
I thought that Isaiah Gray for Benilde-St. Margaret’s forced his shots in the second half. He passed up some easy assists to his teammates for forced shots that didn’t go in. Gray played outstanding on the defensive end.
The game was very competitive. Both teams played very aggressively. Neither team gave up. I also thought that it was a defensive battle, as both teams played outstanding on the defensive end.
Holy Angles went on a run late in the game but they could not catch up to Benilde-St. Margaret’s.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s came away with the 51-40 victory over Holy Angles.

THE SHAKOPEE SABERS TAKE OUT THE HOLY ANGELS STARS
Holy Angels kicked off to the Shakopee Sabers. Shakopee was not able to convert on downs on their first drive and they had to punt the ball to Holy Angels.
Holy Angels looked to get the running game going early on as they were looking to get the ball into their running backs hands. Danny Shields the Holy Angels quarterback looked sharp to begin the game. His passes were right on. They were able to convert and pick up a few quick first downs early.
Shakopee was able to convert on third down quarterback Scott Hauer made good decisions early on in the game as he knew what play he was going to run and he was able to guide his offensive players.
Willie Dellwo for Shakopee had a nice yard touchdown run with 4:44 in the first quarter. The extra point attempt was no good.
Holy Angels got the ball back after the touchdown. Holy Angels was not able to convert on third down and they had to kick the ball back to Shakopee.
Matthew Sotelo had a nice short run for Shakopee as he found the end zone for the touchdown. He also ran in for the two point conversion. After the touchdown and two point conversion the score was Shakopee 14 and Holy Angels 0.
Dylan Ufers intercepted a Holy Angels pass late in first quarter to give the ball back to Shakopee.
At the end of the first quarter the score was the Shakopee 14 and Holy Angels 0.
Shakopee got the ball to start the second quarter. They used a running attack to open the second quarter.
Shakopee used both a running and air attack in the first half. Shakopee threatened to score midway through the second quarter. Willie Dellwo made a short rushing touchdown with 6:26 remaining in the second quarter. The extra point attempt was good. After that touchdown and extra point the score was Shakopee 21 and Holy Angels 0.
Willie Dellwo scored a touchdown with 1:53 remaining in the second quarter. The extra point was also good. The score was Shakopee 28 and Holy Angels 0.
In a first half that was played both in the air and on the field the Shakopee Sabers had a 21-0 lead advantage at the half.
At the beginning of the third quarter Holy Angels tried to get things going as they aggressively looked to get the ball into the end zone.
Danny Shields was able to find the end zone for a Holy Angels touchdown. The extra point attempt was good. With 8:44 left in the third quarter the score was Shakopee 28 and Holy Angels 7.
Shakopee’s DeShawn Goines found the end zone with 8:03 remaining in the third quarter as he scored a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good. With that touchdown and point after the score were Shakopee 35 and Holy Angels 7.
Holy Angels looked to get the ball down the field and try to get the ball into the end zone. Holy Angels offense was having difficulties converting on third down conversions.
Shakopee’s offense looked way to powerful in the third quarter as they were all over the field. Near the end of the third quarter Joel Hergott got a touchdown. The extra point attempt was good. With 1:25 remaining in the third quarter the score was Shakopee 42 and Holy Angels 7.
At the end of the third quarter the score was Shakopee 42 and Holy Angels 7.
Jason Mareck intercepted a Holy Angels pass and he ran it back for a Shakopee touchdown. The extra point was good. With 11:08 in the fourth quarter the score was Shakopee 49 and Holy Angels 7.
Shakopee has able to pick the Holy Angels team apart for most of the game. They did a good job of knowing what plays Holy Angels was going to run.
Holy Angels was able to hold off Shakopee deep into their territory and they forced Shakopee to turn the ball over on downs.
Danny McMahon for the Stars found the end zone with 45 second left for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was no good.
Shakopee was able to come away with the 49-13 victory over Holy Angles.

BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S TOOK ON HOLY ANGLES IN BOYS LACROSSE
After the first quarter the score was Holy Angles 2 and Benilde-St.Margaret’s 0. Both teams kept going after each other.
Benilde-St.Margaret’s was able to get there first goal of the game coming midway in the second quarter. Christian Horn got a goal midway through the second quarter. Ryan Butts got a goal for Benilde-St.Margaret’s midway through the second quarter.
Ryan Butts got another goal at the end of the second quarter.
As the second half got underway Taylor Topousis got on the boards early in the third quarter, he was able to score the first goal of the second half for Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Bailey Dodds
Cullen Hurley from Holy Angles was able to get a goal late in the third quarter.
Benilde’s Mike Hoff got a goal at the end of the third quarter.
Michael Mamalakis scored two goals for Holy Angles late in the contest. Benilde-St.Margaret’s was able to hold on to the 11-5 victory.

HOLY ANGLES GOING AGAINST NORTHFIELD IN THE CONFRENCE OPENER
We are underway here. Holy Angles is looking to push the ball up the court in the early goings of this . Northfield is walking the ball up the court to begin this . Northfield has been able to hit some shots early here. They have gotten out to a 7-0 lead within the first 3 minutes. Northfield has been able to get most of the rebounds here so far tonight. Northfield has started playing in a zone defense here tonight.
Northfield has looked good in transition here. After a made basket or a rebound they are really getting back to the other end of the court quickly. Holy Angles has just been on a run here as they have caught up to Northfield here. Even though it is early both of these teams are playing aggressively here to start this off.
For Northfield Emmanuel Addo has played well so far in this tonight. He has been playing very aggressively. He is not afraid to get after the ball as he has been able to go up and grab rebounds. He has played in spurts here but when he is in there he really goes after it hard. Northfield has been able to pass the ball around the perimeter well tonight.
Holy Angles is trying to get into an offense here. They have had trouble all evening running their offense so far tonight. Turn overs have been another problem tonight for Holy Angles. Larry McKenzie has become very frustrated here with the play that has been going on in the first half. It has been an ugly half so far, because Holy Angles has made a lot of mistakes on both sides of the ball this evening.
Northfield has played nice solid man to man defense here and they have been able to convert on the offensive end. You do have to give the guys at Holy Angles credit here as they have played hard here in the first half. They just need to make some shots. Holy Angles has fought back here late in the first half.
In a half where Northfield has looked better than Holy Angles so far. Northfield has a 35-31 lead at half time.
As the second half gets underway here we will have to see what is in store as both teams looked refreshed coming out of the half time break. Holy Angles has gotten off to a good start here in the second half. They seem to have a lot of good positive energy coming out of the locker room. Holly Angles is playing a lot better here in the second half. In the first half Holy Angles just seemed to come out flat.
Holy Angles is passing the ball around the perimeter a lot better here in the second half. Northfield is still doing a good job of taking care of the basketball. They have been able to make some of their key shots here tonight. Northfield is also doing a lot of talking on the defensive end here.
Northfields Alex Bish is also playing a good night here tonight. He has made some nice plays here tonight. He is also one of the vocal leaders on the floor here tonight. He is also making his presence known on the floor tonight as he has gone after loose balls and really gotten after it here.
The Holy Angles players have fought back here and they have tied the at 54 with 6:45 left to go in regulation.
Both of these teams are really playing well down the stretch here in this , this will come down to the end here tonight. We have a tight here in the end. This will come down to the closing minutes here. With 3:00 left to go in regulation the score is tied at 59.

Holy Angles has not been able to get on the boards as they would have liked to here in this . Northfield has given them a run for their money here tonight. This did come down to the end. Holy Angles was forced to foul to stop the clock in the final minute of the . We will see if Holy Angles will be able to make the final shot of regulation. They have the ball in the final 10.5 seconds and they are down by the score of 61-64. Sahr Ngekie took a shot with 3 seconds left but it was not good.
Northfield has came away with the 64-61 victory tonight over Holy Angles this evening.
