DELASALLE WENT UP AGAINST MANKATO EAST IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

DeLaSalle and Mankato East went up against each other in a boys’ basketball game.

DeLaSalle moved the ball down the floor as they looked to make baskets in transition. DeLaSalle moved the ball down the floor and was able to make baskets in transition. DeLaSalle had a difficult time scoring baskets in the first half. 

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 15:48 left in the first half. The score was Mankato East 8, DeLaSalle 0. 

DeLaSalle moved the ball down the floor and looked to get everyone involved in the offense. After a slow start offensively for DeLaSalle, they came up with layups late in the half. 

Mankato East did a good job of moving the ball down the field and getting their shots. They came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. 

DeLaSalle called a timeout with 10:16 left in the first half. The score was Mankato East 21, DeLaSalle 10.

Both teams raced down the floor and made layups in transition. 

Mankato East did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. 

After a slow start, DeLaSalle was able to make the shots that they put up. They kept on chipping away at the deficit.

At halftime, the score was Mankato East 32, DeLaSalle 29. 

As the second half got underway Mankato East continued to push the ball down the floor and looked to make baskets in transition. 

DeLaSalle came up with baskets late in the second half. 

Mankato East moved the ball down the floor quickly as they were able to make layups in transition. 

DeLaSalle came up with steals and was able to turn the corner and come up with layups off the turnovers. 

There were multiple ties and lead changes throughout the second half. 

DeLaSalle passed the ball around the three-point line late in the game. They were able to come up with baskets.

Mankato East called a timeout with 7:22 left in the second half. The score was DeLaSalle 55, Mankato East 50.  

DeLaSalle found their shots late in the game. They settled down and were able to make their shots that they put up. 

Mankato East stepped up and kept on attacking the DeLaSalle defense. The game came down to the wire. DeLaSalle came up with the 67-63 victory over Mankato East.

MANKATO EAST WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS DELASALLE IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

On March 12 Mankato East went up against Minneapolis DeLaSalle in a boys’ state semifinal basketball game at the Target Center.

DeLaSalle looked to push the ball down the floor and looked for ways to score layups in transition.

It took a while for both teams to get into a shooting rhythm.

There was a media timeout with 14:18 left in the first half. The score was DeLaSalle 6, Mankato East 2.

DeLaSalle did a good job of swinging the ball around the 3-point line as they were able to get everyone involved in the offense.

DeLaSalle’s Jarvis Johnson came up with mid-range jump shots, layups and slam dunks in the first half on the offensive end. On defense Johnson did a good job of slowing down the guy he was guarding.

There was a media timeout with 10:54 left in the first half. The score was DeLaSalle 10, Mankato East 4.

DeLaSalle was able to attack the Mankato East defense. They did a good job of slowing down Mankato.

DeLaSalle’s Sacar Anim came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half.

At halftime the score was DeLaSalle 37, Mankato East 22.

As the second half got underway DeLaSalle continued to push the ball down the floor and make layups in transition.

The defensive pressure that DeLaSalle put on Mankato East made it hard for them to make shots.

DeLaSalle was too much for Mankato East. Mankato East had a difficult time hitting their shots throughout the game.

Anim was all over the floor. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

DeLaSalle came away with the 74-40 victory over Mankato East.

The leading scores for Mankato East were Gorg Alhag and C.J. Ayers each with 8 points.

The leading scorers for DeLaSalle was Anim with 27 points.

After the game I was able to speak to DeLaSalle’s head coach Dave Thorson, and Anim about the game.

CLASS A SEMI-FINAL ACTION GAME 1: ST CLOUD CATHDRAL V MANKATO EAST

Mankato East scored late in the second half on their way to a 1-0 win over St. Cloud Cathedral to earn their place in the Class A title game.

No Backdown - Neither team, Mankato East (left) nor St Cloud Cathedral, was willing to back down in this State semi-final Class A soccer dual played at the Metrodome.



Battle - Gamelong it was a battle for ball control. Mankato East's Turner Johnson (#16) and Cathedral's Jason Schoenberg (#20) fight for control. Cathedral's Joshua Robak (#7) follows.



Score - Mankato East's Abdifatah Aden (#9) accepts the pass from teammate Adam Oshman (out of frame) to push the ball beyond St Cloud Cathdral's goaltender Ben Kemper score the lone goal to earn the team's spot in the State finals.
