MINNESOTA PUMP N RUN TOOK ON THE MINNESOTA COMETS NORTH IN THE 17U DIVISION OF THE PUMP N RUN TOURNAMENT

The Minnesota Pump n Run took on the Minnesota Comets in the 17 and under division in the Pump n Run tournament. The Comets came out in a zone defense. They also wanted to look to push the ball when they were in transition.

The Pump n Run team was able to come out and attack the basket early in the game. There shots fell throughout the first half.

Jason Perkins for Pump n Run was able to make a lot of shots in the early goings. On the defensive end he was able to shut down his opponent.

Pump n Run was able to find their shots early in the game and they were not afraid to shoot the ball in the first half. They made most of their shots that they were putting up.

At half time the score was Pump n Run 47 and Minnesota Comets 16.

Pump n Run came out on fire in the second half. They still looked to push the ball up the court and they still were able to command the tempo throughout the second half. The Comets didn’t back down they kept of playing hard even though they were down by as many as 30 points. They didn’t give up playing hard and going after loose balls.

The Minnesota Pump n Run was in control of the game from the start. They were able to come away with the 73-25 victory over the Minnesota Comets.

PUMP AND RUN GOES UNDEFEATED AND WINS THE 17U CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

In the 17 and under championship game it was 43 Hoops taking on the Pump and Run. Both of these teams looked to get the ball up the court. For 43 Hoops Manani Beavers ran the point guard spot. He was the little floor leader on the court for the 43 Hoops squad.


For Pump and Run Dyami Starks and Aaron Anderson switched off at the point guard spots.



Dyami was able to get the ball up the court against the 43 Hoops pressure. Both teams looked to get the ball up the court quickly to open the game up. Each team was able to use their quickness to their advantage in the second half.



Aaron Anderson came up with some big plays in the first half. He was able to find his open man underneath the basket and fire off a pass to him.



The first half was very physical. Each team was going after loose balls and grabbing rebounds. At half time the score was 43 Hoops 23 and Pump and Run 29.



Each team came out and played aggressively in the second half. Steven Tucker played strong aggressive defense in the second half. He really stepped up his game in the second half.



Aaron Anderson played aggressively in the game he was able to hold his opponents down. He really was a force in the back court.



Both teams kept going at each other in the second half. They were really aggressive the whole game. Neither team was able to go on a run in the second half. The contest was close throughout the second half.
This game went back and forth through out. Pump and Run was able to go on a run late in the second half. Dyami Starks and Darius Clair each played well in the tournament and in this game as well.
The Pump and Run were able to come away with the 54-45 victory in a hard fought battle over 43 Hoops.
