PARK CENTER WENT UP AGAINST OSSEO IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 26 Park Center and Osseo squared off in a boys' basketball game. Going into the game Park Center came into the game with an overall record of 12-6 and Osseo had an overall record of 18-0.
 
Osseo looked to set the tempo of the game early. Osseo started out guarding in the full court. They switched up between man-to-man and zone defense.
 
Osseo pushed the ball down the floor and got everyone involved in the offense. Osseo guard Allen Anderson brought the ball down the floor and shouted out plays that he wanted ran.
 
Park Center’s Osirus Washington got his team in an offensive pattern. He called out plays that he wanted ran.
 
Osseo’s Damario Armstrong came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 13:54 left in the first half. The score was tied at 12.
 
Park Center looked to come up with steals and turn them into layups on the offensive end.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team went on a run.
 
Park Center called a timeout with 12:28 left in the first half. The score was Osseo 14, Park Center 13.
 
Osseo did a good job of getting everyone involved in the offense. They passed the ball around to each other and communicated well on both ends of the floor.
 
Osseo’s Allen Anderson came off of picks and was able to come up with layups and mid-range jump shots on the offensive end. On the defensive end Anderson was able to slow down the guy he was guarding.
 
The defensive pressure that both teams applied made it difficult for each team to take uncontested shots.
 
Park Center’s Losini Kamara knocked down huge shots for his team. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
Osseo picked up their defensive pressure in the full court. They wanted to make it difficult for Park Center to bring the ball down the floor.
 
Osseo’s Kameron Bettie attacked the basket and came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. Multiple people guarded Bettie as they all tried to slow him down.
 
Park Center looked to score fast break layups in transition. Washington or Kamara would usually run the break.
 
Neither team went on a huge run in the first half.
 
Both teams took the ball down the floor and scored baskets in transition.
 
Park Center called a timeout with 3:25 left in the first half. The score was tied at 33.
 
Osseo looked to trap the ball and come up with steals and looked to make layups off the turnovers.
 
Washington wasn’t afraid to drive to the basket and make layups. He was able to get past his defenders.
 
Park Center called a timeout with 44.2 seconds left in the first half. The score was Park Center 39, Osseo 38.
 
Osseo stepped up with defensive pressure as Park Center looked to attack the basket.
 
Theisen came up with a huge 3-point shot at the buzzer.
 
At halftime the score was Osseo 42, Park Center 39.
 
As the second half got underway Osseo continued to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition. Anderson got the offense going by making layups.
 
Park Center did a good job of getting the ball into the hands of Kamara and Washington. Both of whom stepped up and came up with big shots.
 
Osseo did a good job of communicating with each other on both ends of the floor. Osseo’s defensive pressure in the second half made it difficult for Park Center to get shots they were looking for in their offense.
 
Park Center called a timeout with 12:36 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 58, Park Center 47.
 
Osseo was much more relaxed on the floor in the second half. They were able to come up with steals and then come up with layups. Osseo was able to frustrate Park Center.
 
Park Center didn’t give up as they kept attacking the basket looking for their shots.
 
With 10:21 left in regulation Park Center’s head coach James Ware received a technical foul for arguing a call.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 9:44 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 67, Park Center 53.
 
Park Center battled back as they attacked the basket and looked to make layups and mid-range jump shots.
 
Osseo’s Martelius Hughes attacked the basket on the offensive end. He came up with layups late in the game. Teammate Theisen also came up with big shots in the second half.
 
Osseo called a timeout with 4:16 left in regulation. The score was Osseo 86, Park Center 67.
 
Osseo stepped up with offensive production in the second half. They were able to make shots that they put up on offense. On the defensive end they were able to get Park Center out of their offensive rhythm.
 
Osseo came away with the 97-75 victory over Park Center.
 
The leading scorers for Park Center was Losini Kamara with 27 points.
 
The leading scorers for Osseo were Theisen and Bettie each with 15 points.
