CRISTO REY WENT UP AGAINST FAIR IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 30 Cristo Rey and FAIR went up against each other in a boys' basketball game.

 

Cristo Rey pushed the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition. Cristo Rey looked to get the ball into the hands of Jericho Sims. Sims came up with mid-range jump shots and layups in the first half.

 

Cristo Rey pushed the ball down the floor and was able to score layups in transition.

 

FAIR went to a zone defense. Cristo Rey passed the ball around the 3-point line as they got everyone involved in the offense.

 

FAIR came up with steals and was able to convert them into layups on the offensive end. FAIR did a good job of attacking the Cristo Rey’s defense. They were not afraid to drive to the basket in traffic.

 

Cristo Rey’s Franklin Doyle came up with mid-range jump shots and 3-point shots to keep his team in the game.

 

FAIR called a timeout with 3:54 left in the first half. The score was Cristo Rey 36, FAIR 26.

 

FAIR looked to score baskets in transition. They used their quickness to try to get past their defenders.

 

Cristo Rey came up with huge baskets late in the first half. They were able to get the ball into Doyle’s hands.

 

At halftime the score was Cristo Rey 46, FAIR 33.

 

As the second half got underway Cristo Rey continued to push the ball down the floor and come up with layups.

 

Fair’s Dennis Alexander, Dameon Jones and Deasean Fleming all came up with good shots. They knew where their teammates were on the floor and were able to get each other the ball.

 

Sims also kept on coming up with shots in the paint. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.

 

FAIR struggled to shoot the ball in the second half. Cristo Rey did a good job of attacking the basket late. Cristo Rey also ran a lot of time off the clock by swinging the ball around the 3-point line.

 

The defense that Cristo Rey applied made it difficult for FAIR to get shots up.

 

Cristo Rey called a timeout with 7:11 left in regulation. The score was Cristo Rey 68, FAIR 49.

 

Even though FAIR had difficulty shooting the ball they still attacked the basket late in the game.

Cristo Rey came away with the 80-58 victory over FAIR.

 

The leading scorers for Cristo Rey were sims with 22 points, Doyle with 21 points and Karlton Gregory with 18 points.

 

The leading scorers for FAIR were Venjoseph Brown with 19 points and Dennis Alexander with 18 points.
