EAST RIDGE WENT UP AGAINST WASHBURN IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

East Ridge and Minneapolis Washburn squared up against each other in a boys' basketball game.
 
Washburn looked to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.  
 
East Ridge started the game in a zone defense. They wanted to force Washburn to take deep 3-point shots.
 
East Ridge pushed the ball down the floor and looked to score layups in transition.
 
The score went back and forth throughout the first half. Neither team went on a huge run throughout the first half.
 
East Ridge’s Carter Dowdle and Washburn's Charlie Irmiger battled down the low block. They both went after rebounds.
 
Washburn swung the ball around the 3-point line as they got everyone involved in the offense.
 
Washburn’s offense went stagnant for a period of time in the first half.
 
At halftime the score was East Ridge 34, Washburn 27.  
 
As the second half got underway East Ridge continued to push the ball down the floor and score baskets in transition.
 
Washburn had a difficult time scoring late second half.
 
Washburn’s Cortez Adams came up with mid-range jump shots and rebounds. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
East Ridge’s Tom Kelzenberg came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball.
 
Washburn made shots down the stretch but East Ridge had an answer on offense as well.
 
East Ridge came away with the 65-58 victory over Washburn.
 
Washburn was lead in scoring by Albert Demmings with 14 points and Irmiger with 10 points.
 
East Ridge was lead in scoring by Zach Bennett who ended up with 23 points.
