MINNEAPOLIS NORTH WENT UP AGAINST RUSHFORD-PETERSON IN A BOYS' BASKETBALL GAME

On Jan. 23 Minneapolis North squared off against Rushford-Peterson in a boys' basketball game. The stands were packed at the time of tip-off.
 
North looked to push the ball down the floor and looked to score baskets in transition. North passed the ball around the 3-point line looking to take time off the clock.
 
Rushford-Peterson started the game in a zone defense. That made North take a lot of time off the clock.
 
North’s ODell Wilson IV came up with mid-range jump shots and layups. His teammates did a good job of getting him the ball in spots where he could shoot it.
 
North looked to score layups in transition. They were a little quicker than Rushford-Peterson.
 
North called a timeout with 10:11 left in the first half. The score was North 14, Rushford -Peterson 6.
 
Rushford-Peterson looked to score layups coming off of picks. Rushford-Peterson looked to get the ball inside to Noah Dahl. Dahl looked to make mid-range jump shots.
 
North went to a full court press. They looked to turn Rushford-Peterson over.
 
At halftime the score was North 34, Rushford-Peterson 16.
 
North’s Patrick Dembley was all over the floor on the offensive end. He came up with mid-range jump shots and layups.
 
North’s JaQuan Sanders-Smith came up with mid-range jump shots and layups throughout the second half.
 
Rushford-Peterson struggled to shoot the ball throughout the second half.
 
North was quicker than Rushford-Peterson was. Rushford-Peterson struggled to shoot the ball throughout the game.
 
North called a timeout with 5:46 left in regulation. The score was North 52, Rushford-Peterson 37.
 
Rushford-Peterson couldn’t get their shots going throughout the game. They kept attacking the basket late in the game.
 
North came away with the 61-45 victory over Rushford-Peterson.
