JAMAR DAMARTEZ FRANKS WANTS TO LEAD HIS TEAM TO VICTORY
Jamar Damartez Franks who is a senior wants to put Wayzata back on the map. Basketball has meant a lot to Jamar since he was a little kid and he has always had a passion for the game.
During the summer you can find Jamar playing for the Big Game Sports (BGS) AAU origination.
The game has given Jamar a positive outlook on life. If there are times that he feels down, he looks back on his basketball experiences and takes those lessons and applies them to real life situations. He also knows that he has to take what he has learned on the basketball court and apply it in the class room. He knows that getting classroom education is just as important as getting a basketball education. Basketball has kept him on the right path in life. He wants to go to college after he gets done with high school and wants to continue playing.
This is what Jamar said about his team: “Our team is looking very good this year. People don't expect us to be good because we lost a couple seniors but that doesn't mean anything to our group of seniors this year. We have a lot of talent of the offensive and defensive ends and last year most of our guys didn't play AAU ball, like our top 6 players this year. We all know what it is like to be in a big game against good competition. None of us back down from challenges and were all competitors. I believe if we continue to work hard and play together like we have been, we are going to a big surprise.”
Look for Jamar Damartz Franks to be one of the leaders on the Wayzata boy’s basketball team this year.
