CONCORDIA ACADMEY BLOOMINGTON IS TAKING ON CANNON VALLEY LUTHREAN

Concordia Academy of Bloomington took on Cannon Valley Lutheran at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis. The Minnesota Timber Wolves invite different basketball teams from across the state to play at the Target Center for a day. This gives teams a chance to see what it is like to play a on an NBA court. It is also the same place where the High School League state tournament is held every March.

The game started out with a quick fast clip as both of these teams were trading baskets in the early goings of the game.

Both of these teams were to run as much time off the clock as they could they would stand in a zone and pass the ball around the perimeter.

Both teams played looked to get the ball up the court. Both of these teams played an evenly matched first half. Both teams played zone defense. They were able to slow each other’s tempo down in the first half. Both of these teams were not able to extend their lead by more than five points in the first half.

Concordia Academy used a lot of different player combinations in the first half. They wanted to keep their players fresh that were on the court.

At the half time intermission the score was Cannon Valley Lutheran 24 and Concordia Academy 20.

Both teams came out and played with a lot of intensity and emotion to start the second half. Both of these teams have played a fair about of zone defense here tonight.

Both teams continued to fight hard with each other in the second half. Concordia Academy went on a little run in the middle of the second half.

Both of these teams played a very hard fought game tonight. They had the same style of play and they played with intensity. This game was a tight game the whole night. In the end in a wild game Concordia Academy came away with the 47-41 victory tonight.

I was joined at the game by the Twin Cities Hoops Czar, you can read his story about the game here.
