2009 MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION ALL STAR GAME

At the conclusion of the high school basketball season the Minnesota State High School Boys Basketball Coaches Association puts on an all star event that highlights the forty best high school players and gets them together for a weekend a fun weekend of basketball.

This year’s event is no exception. The evening started out with a slam dunk contest. In right fashion Rodney Maurice Williams Jr. from Cooper who is going to be going to the University of Minnesota next season won the contest hands down.

In the first game it was the Blue All Stars going up against the Gold All Stars. Most of the first half went up and down the court it was a typical all star performance where the guys were truly out to have some fun. Each team shot a ton of shots. At half time each team combined to shoot a total of 92 shots field goals.

In the first half of the game both teams went up and down the court and basically who ever could get out and score them were able to do just that. At the half the score was Blue 54 and Gold 50.

Each teams started off the second half as they ended the first half. Each team looked to run the floor and get as many shots up as possible.

This was a high scoring affair. We knew that coming into the game. In a game that went up and down the court the Gold team was able to hang on to a 107-99.

I was joined by the Czar of Twin Cities Boys Hoops. You can read about his thoughts of the ALL STAR GAME HERE.
