MINNESOTA COMETS TOOK ON THE MINESOTA PUMP AND RUN IN A THRILLER

In the 17U division it was the Pump and Run going up against the Comets. Each of these teams came out swinging. Pump and Run looked to push the ball in transition to start the game off.


For the Comets Mike Johnson was impressive from the start. He brought the ball up and was able to make some nice passes in congestion.


The Comets were able to get a lead on this Pump and Run team. Pump and Run played zone defense in the first half. Comets were able to get make shots in the first half.


Carlos Emmory has been able to battle with the big guys down low in the block. He has also made some good drives to the basket in the first half.


The Comets were able to shut down the Pump and Run big men. They were not able to get the quick shots that they were able to get in games prior to this one. But Pump and Run has been in this siltation before. They know how it is to be down and they always seem to find a way to battle back.


This game went back and forth in the first half. The score at half time was Comets 30and Pump and Run 34.



Dyami Starks hit a buzzer beater to send the first half.


Each team came out aggressively in the second half. Pump and Run looked to push the ball up the court. In the second half Darius Claire played really played well in the second half.


The Comets used a full court press in the second half. They were able to fluster the Pump and Run. The Comets went on a run in the second half.


Each team went at each other in the second half. The Comets didn’t let up. The game was tied at 57 with 3:30 left to go in regulation.


This Comets team has been able to take it to the Pump and Run team. This is the closest any team has been to the Pump and Run. The Comets were able to control the last three minutes of play. This game did come down to the wire. Pump and Run was able to hold on to the victory in a hard fought game. The final was Pump and Run 67 and Minnesota Comets 64.
