A large crowd was on hand at TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota for the Gunnies Cup soccer match between Manchester City and Olympiacos on August 2, 2014 .
Olympiacos looked to get on the board early as they moved the ball down the field well. They were able to attack the goal.
Manchester City looked to trap the ball when Olympiacos was on the offensive end. Manchester City did a good job of moving the ball down the field and keeping it away from the goal.
Manchester City Goaltender Joe Hart made good saves in the first half. He dove on the ground and caught balls that were shot at him.
Olympiacos did a good job of setting each other up. They called for the ball well and they knew where their teammates were on the field.
Manchester City had chances to score throughout the first half. Olympiacos Lonnis Maniatis came up with some good saves in the first half.
There was a mandatory water break 30 minutes into the first half.
Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic scored with the assist going to Samir Nasri in the 35th minute.
In the 37th minute Olympiacos’ Dimitrios Kolovos scored with the assist going to Ionnis Maniatis.
Manchester City’s Aleksander Kolarov received a yellow card in the 45th minute of the first half.
At halftime the score was tied at 1.
As the second half got underway both teams continued to move the ball down the field well. Both teams attack the ball and were able to make good passes to each other.
In the 53nd minute Kolarov found the net for a goal. That made the score 2-1 Manchester City.
In the 66th minute Olympiacos Dimitrios Diamantakos found the goal again for his second goal of the match.
That made the score Olympiacos 2, Manchester City 2.
The game was tied at 2 after regulation. The game went into penalty kicks.
Olympiacos won the game on penalty kicks.
