Owatonna traveled to Shakopee for a girls' basketball game. Shakopee came into the game with a record of 19-4. Owatonna came into the game with a record of 15-8.
The game got off to a slow start as neither team was able to hit shots.
Owatonna went on a run with just under 13:00 left in the first half.
Shakopee took a timeout with 12:22 left in the half with the score Owatonna 15 and Shakopee 5.
Owatonna continued to hit shots throughout the first half.
On the defensive end Owatonna went to a zone defense. They looked to spread Shakopee out.
Owatonna wanted to make it as hard as possible for Shakopee to hit their shots.
Throughout the first half Owatonna was too quick for Shakopee. Shakopee had a hard time making shots.
At halftime the score was Owatonna 28 and Shakopee 11.
As the second half got underway Owatonna continued to shoot the ball well.
Shakopee tried to make a comeback in the second half but they fell short.
Shakopee could not make a shot throughout the first half. Owatonna was too powerful for them. Owatonna came away with the 55-42 victory over Shakopee.
