HIGH PERFORMANCE ACADEMY TOOK ON FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND ATHLETICS IN A BASKETBALL GAME

High Performance Academy took on Fundamentally Sound Athletics in the 2011 Howard Pulley Pro City Summer League.

The game started out at a quick pace as each team was able to trade baskets. Rodney Maurice Williams took the ball hard to the basket. He was guarded by Troy Bell. Bell got into the face of Williams and made it hard for him to shoot the ball.

Austin Hollins who plays at the University of Minnesota took the ball hard to the basket. He was able to find his teammate who was open and would knock it down.

At the end of the first quarter the score was High Performance Academy 27 and Fundamentally Sound Athletics 26.

Bell knocked down some deep three-point shots to keep his team in the game.

Harry Sonie for High Performance Academy did a good job of trying to slow down his defender.

Bell could hit both the inside jump shot as well as the outside three-point shot.

High Performance Academy went on a run late in the second quarter.

At halftime the score was High Performance Academy 61 and Fundamentally Sound Athletics 55.

As the second half got underway both teams continued to take the ball hard to the basket. The score continued to go back and forth.

High Performance Academy continued to step up and knock down shots. Fundamentally Sound Athletics didn't get down on themselves. They showed patience with the ball as they swung the ball around the three-point line.

Williams did a good job of getting his teammates involved in the offense. He knew where they were supposed to be on the floor at all times.

High Performance Academy continued their run late in the fourth quarter.

After three quarters of play the score was High Performance Academy 89 and Fundamentally Sound Athletics 80.

Fundamentally Sound Athletics continued to chip away at the deficit.

High Performance Academy looked well throughout the game. I thought that both Troy Bell and Austin
Hollins played well for them. I also thought that Rodney Williams played well for Fundamentally Sound Athletics.

Fundamentally Sound Athletics went on a run late in the fourth quarter and tied the game with 52 seconds left in regulation.

The score went back and forth the final minute of the game.

The score was tied at 114 at the end of regulation.

Both teams battled for loose balls and dove after them on the floor. Neither team gave up.

Fundamentally Sound Athletics was able to drop a three-point shot with just under 1:45 left in over time High Performance Academy was right there also trying to hit shots that they put up.

Harry Sonie was fouled with 1.5 second being down 3 points. We went to the free throw line and he missed all three free throws.
