MAPLE GROVE TOOK ON STILLWATER IN A BOYS' STATE BASEBALL GAME

Maple Grove took on Stillwater in the semifinals of the MSHSL State Baseball tournament at Midway Stadium. Maple Grove led off the top of the first inning.

Maple Grove’s Logan Hershey got a single to open up the game and he reached second base on a single.

Roman Collins hit a double that scored a run.

Karl Sorenson flew out to the left fielder.

Brady Jacobs struck out for the final out of the inning.

BOTTOM OF THE FIRST INNING

Leading off for Stillwater Area, Pad Getchell popped out to the right fielder.

Derek Albertson popped out to first base.

Tom Forster hit a single to center

Tom Forster stole second base.

Joe Zorn popped out to left field to end the first inning.

TOP OF THE THIRD INNING

Joe Franta hit a single.

Roman Collins got a single and Joe Franta advanced.

Both runners moved up on a wild pitch.

Karl Sorenson walked to load the bases.

A run scored on a wild pitch.

Brady Jacobs popped out for the first out of the inning and a run scored on the play.

Alexander Naasz bounced out to first base.

Taylor McWilliams was thrown out at first base.

BOTTOM OF THIRD

Pad Getchell reached first base on an error.

Darek Albertson walked.

Tom Forster walked.

Another run scored on a wild pitch.

Joe Zorn was thrown out at first base for the final out of the inning.
Maple Grove was able to get the 4-1 victory over Stillwater in a very good baseball game.
