UNIVERTY OF WISCONSIN-SUPERIOR TOOK ON CONCORDIA ST. PAUL IN A EXHIBITION WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAME

The Gangelhoff Center was a buzz as the Yellow Jackets of The University of Wisconsin-Superior took on the Golden Bears of Concordia University St. Paul.

As the game started both teams looked to get into their offensive grove. Concordia started the game off in a zone defense. They looked to get Superior to take quick shots.

Superior looked to trap the incoming pass.. They also used a full court man-to-man defense. Concordia was able to do a good job of breaking the trap as they were able to get the ball down the court easily.

Concordia was able to score easy baskets in transition. They were a little quicker on the break than Superior.

Superior called a timeout with 14:35 left in the first half.

Anne Skriba did a good job of getting the ball down the court and setting up the offense for Concordia. She was able to get her players into places where they could make good shots.

Concordia did a good job of breaking the full court press. They had good ball movement and were not rattled by the Superior defenders.

Superior made a run midway through the first half.

With 9:30 left in the first half there was a media timeout. The score was Concordia 26 and Superior 16.

Superior was able to keep their composure and kept their heads when they were not able to make their shots.

Superior called a timeout with 6:39 left in the first half with the score Concordia 29 and Superior 16.

Rachel Hansen did a good job taking shots. She knew where she wanted the ball and was able to step up and knock down shots to keep her team in the game.

Superior spread the ball around to all of their players throughout the first half. They were all able to find the basket. The scoring was very even throughout the first half.

At halftime the score was Concordia St. Paul 37 and Superior 29.

Concordia came out the second half continuing to push the ball down the court. The guards kept on getting out and setting the tempo.

Superior looked to get the tempo into their favor. They looked for fast break point opportunities.

Superior called a timeout with 16:12 left in regulation. The score was Concordia St. Paul 43 and Superior 33.

Concordia went to a full court press. They didn't want Superior to get and quick open shots.

Superior went to a zone defense. They wanted to spread the Concordia players out.

Concordia took a timeout with 11:43 left in regulation with the score Concordia 48 and Superior 38.

Concordia came out in a zone defense after the timeout.

Concordia did a good job in the zone defense. Superior had difficulty shooting the ball. Concordia took advantage of that as they were able to slow them down.

Superior called a timeout with 8:06 left in regulation. The score was Concordia 52 and Superior 38.

Superior didn't give up the fight. They battled throughout the contest. They never quit on either side of the ball.

Superior called a timeout with 4:11 left in regulation with the score Concordia 57 and Superior 46.

Both teams played hard the whole game. Neither team gave up.

In the end Concordia St. Paul was able to come away with the 62-49 victory over Superior. The leading scorers for Superior were Bri Davis with 8 points and Connie Urmanski with 15 points. They shot 17-58 from the field and that included going 3-15 from behind the three-point line. Superior also shot 12-18 from the free throw line.

The leading scorers for Concordia St. Paul were Erica Gress with 11 points and Rachel Hansen with 12 points. They shot 24-51 from the field and went 2-10 from behind the three-point line. Concordia also shot 12-18 from the free throw line
