MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST WENT UP AGAINST MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Sept. 3 Southwest and South squared off in a football game. Southwest kicked off to start the game.

South’s Tanzil Sallahuddin made a huge catch and run. South started on the 38-yard line. South kept the ball on the ground on their first drive. South’s Payton Bowdry made came up with short yard runs that kept the drive alive. South couldn’t convert on 4-and-short so Southwest took over on their own 7-yard line.

Southwest’s Devin Joyce came up with short yard runs. Southwest couldn’t come up with a first down, they turned it over on downs.

South took over near midfield. South used a lot of the running game as they looked to take a lot of time off the clock.

Elerson Smith came up with a 39-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was good.

With 5:58 left in the first quarter the score was South 8, Southwest 0.

Southwest took over on their own 47-yard line. Southwest once again took to the air as wanted to confuse the South defense.  The defensive pressure that South provided made it hard for the receivers to come up with open routes. On 4th-and-2 Southwest committed a false start violation.

Southwest went for a first down but were not successful.

South took over near midfield.

After one quarter of play the score was South 8, Southwest 0.

South’s Kyle Evens came up with a 12-yard first-down catch. Bowdry got the ball into his hands and was able to come up with huge yards for a first down.

South took a timeout with 9:01 left in the second quarter.

South tuned it over on downs.

Southwest looked to get another first down but the South defense stifled them. On 4th-and-2
Southwest punted and time expired to end the second quarter.

At halftime the score was South 8, Southwest 0.

South kicked off to start the third quarter. Southwest took over on their own 35-yard line. Southwest looked to move the ball down the field. Southwest’s KD Franklin came up with a huge reception for a first down.

Southwest’s Devin Joyce came up with a 3-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion was no good.

With 7:58 left in the third quarter the score was South 8, Southwest 6.

South took over on their own 20 yard line. South’s Sam Truen ran 75 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was good.

With 6:57 left in the third quarter the score was South 16, Southwest 6.

Southwest took over on their own 41-yard line. Southwest couldn’t move the ball down the field. Southwest punted on 4th down.

South took over on the 20-yard line. South kept the ball in the hands of Truen who came up with first downs late in the quarter. South fumbled the ball and Southwest recovered it.

After three quarters of play the score was South 16, Southwest 6.

Southwest looked to pound the ball down the field as they got their running game together. Ash
Mkali came up with a huge catch from Brennan Hawkins that set up a - yard touchdown run by Joyce. The two-point attempt was good to Mkali.

With 9:49 left in the fourth quarter the score was South 16, Southwest 14.

South took over on their own 25-yard line. South fumbled the ball and Southwest recovered it.

Southwest continued to pound the ball down the field as they looked to get the ball into the end zone late in the fourth quarter.  On 4th-and-5 Southwest attempted a field goal which was blocked.

Southwest’s Joyce rushed for 3 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was good. With 3:17 left in regulation the score was Southwest 23, South 16.

South took over on the 50-yard line. Bowdry once again came up with huge plays that kept the chains moving down the field.

Bowdry came up with a 6-yard touchdown run with 1:47 left in regulation. The two-point conversion was good.

With that two point conversion, that made the score South 24, Southwest 22.

Southwest took over on their own 35-yard line.

Southwest’s Rammarine came up with a huge catch that moved the ball down the field 30 yards. Southwest Devin Joyce came up with some huge yards late in the game that kept the energy going in Southwest’s favor. Joyce came up with a 3-yard touchdown run with 48 seconds left. The two-point conversion was no good.

With 48 seconds left in regulation the score was Southwest 28, South 24.

South’s Kyle Evans came up with a huge first down reception that brought the ball to the 10-yard line. South’s Bradley Lewis came up with a 10-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was good.

With 16 seconds left in regulation the score was South 32, Southwest 28. That would be the final of the game.
