ST. OLAF WENT UP AGAINST AUGSBURG IN A FOOTBALL GAME

On Sept. 28, St. Olaf College and Augsburg University went up against each other in a football game. Going into the game St. Olaf had an overall record of 3-0 while Augsburg had a record of 1-2.

St. Olaf kicked off to start. The ball went into the end zone and Augsburg started on their own 25-yard line. Augsburg starting quarterback was Quinn Frisell. Augsburg looked to move the ball down the field. Augsburg punted on 4th-and-5. There was a partial block. There was no return. 

St. Olaf started the drive on the Augsburg 45-yard line. St. Olaf kept the ball ground on their first drive. St. Olaf got the ball into the hands of Khayleb Willis who came up with a first down. St. Olaf started Lars Prestemon. St. Thomas used both the running and passing attack early. On 4th-and-13 St. Olaf punted the ball. 

Augsburg started their drive on their own 13-yard line. Augsburg’s Quran Al-Hameed. Al-Hameed was able to get past his defenders. The defensive pressure that St. Olaf applied made it difficult for Augsburg to get free looks down field. On 4th-and-20 Augsburg punted the ball. 

St. Olaf took over on the 50-yard line. Willis used his legs to run through the defense. St. Olaf punted on 4th-and-17. 

St. Olaf got the ball back as Augsburg fumbled the ball and St. Olaf recovered. St. Olaf kept on looking to push the ball down the field. Gabe Alada came up with a 33-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good. 

With 3:33 left in the first quarter the score was St. Olaf 7, Augsburg 0. 

Augsburg took over on their won 42-yard line. Al-Hameed came up with the ball and pushed the ball down the field. Augsburg moved the ball down the field. Al-Hameed came up with a 30-yard run for a first down. On 4th-and-15 Augsburg attempted a 36-yard field goal which was no good. 

St. Olaf took over on their own 20-yard line. 

After one quarter of play the score was St. Olaf 7, Augsburg 0. 

St. Olaf came up with a 76-yard touchdown reception by Isaac Coutier. The extra point attempt was good.

With 14:49 in the second quarter the score was St. Olaf 14, Augsburg 0. 

Augsburg started on their own 12-yard line. Augsburg couldn’t move the ball down the field, and they punted on 4th-and-10.

St. Olaf’s Caleb Golberg came up with a 35-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good. 

With 11:58 left in the second quarter the score was St. Olaf 21, Augsburg 0.  

Augsburg took over on their own 37-yard line. Augsburg struggled to move the ball down the field. 
Augsburg’s Zach Kes came up with a 38-yard reception. Augsburg moved the ball down the field as they looked to get into the end zone. On 4th-and-9 Augsburg went for it and didn’t get it. 

St. Olaf continued to move the ball down the field by the air. Augsburg took over on a forced fumble. 

Augsburg took over on their own 13-yard line. Zach Kes came up with a short run. Augsburg kept the ball own the ground, but they were not able to get a first down. On 4th-and-4 Augsburg punted. 

St. Olaf took over on their own 28-yard line. St. Olaf moved the ball down the field.

St. Olaf called a timeout with 1:19 left in the second quarter. The score was St. Olaf 21, Augsburg 0.

St. Olaf called a timeout with 51 seconds left. The score was St. Olaf 21, Augsburg 0.

St. Olaf’s Coutier came up with an 18-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good. 

With 41.5 left in the second quarter the score was St. Olaf 28, Augsburg 0. 

Augsburg’s Le’Andre Benion came up with a 69-yard kickoff return. Andrew Williams came up with a 23-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was not good. 

With 25.5 seconds left in the second quarter the score was St. Olaf 28, Augsburg 6. 

St. Olaf took over on their own 30-yard line. St. Olaf looked to move the ball down the field late in the quarter. 

St. Olaf called a timeout with 3.5 seconds left in the second quarter. The score was St. Olaf 28, Augsburg 6. 

At halftime the score was St. Olaf 28, Augsburg 6. 

Augsburg kicked off to start the third quarter. St. Olaf took over on their own 27-yard line. St. Olaf moved the ball down the field as Khayleb Willis came up with big runs down the field. Jordan Embry came up with a short run for a first down. 

St. Olaf called a timeout with 12:10 left in the third quarter. The score was St. Olaf 28, Augsburg 6. 

St. Olaf came up with a reception by Gonzalo Priela for a first down. St. Olaf kept on moving the ball down the field. 

With 10:06 left in the third quarter Augsburg called a timeout. The score was St. Loaf 28, Augsburg 6. 

St. Olaf punted on 4th-and-4. 

Augsburg took over on their own 21-yard line. Augsburg confused the St. Olaf defense by running trick plays.  On 4th-and-11 Augsburg punted. 

St. Olaf took over on their own 42-yard line. St. Olaf’s Siegel Gerald Howard III tried to find holes in the defense. Howard came up with a 20-yard reception. Gonzalo Pirela came up with a 44-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was good.  

With 6:54 left in the third quarter the score was St. Olaf 35, Augsburg 6. 

Al-Hameed came up with a 20-yard kick off return. Augsburg took over on their own 26-yard line. 

Augsburg looked deep down the field as they looked to move the ball down the field. Augsburg moved the ball down the field quickly. Mike Rodriguez came up with a 34-yard first down reception. 

Augburg’s Rodriguez came up with a 10-yard touch reception. The two-point conversion was not good. 

The score with 4:15 left in the third quarter was St. Olaf 35, Augsburg 12. 

Augsburg attempted an onside kick and Augsburg recovered it on their own 45-yard line. Augsburg looked down the field once again as they didn’t take long to get into the huddle. Augsburg Al-Hameed came up with a 25-yard run. Al-Hameed continued to move the ball down the field. 

Augsburg called a timeout with 2:35 left in the third quarter the score was St. Olaf 35, Augsburg 12. 

On 4th-and- 7 Augsburg came up with a 9-yard touchdown by Le’Andre Benion. The two-point attempt was not good. 

With 2:29 left in the third quarter the score was St. Olaf 35, Augsburg 18. 

St. Olaf took over on their own 49-yard line. Willis got the ball and looked to get down the field. Howard came up with a 9-yard run. 

After three quarters of play the score was St. Olaf 35, Augsburg 18. 

St. Olaf looked to get into the end zone as Willis came up with a huge run. Howard came up with a 1-yard touchdown run. There were offsetting penalties on both teams. The extra point attempt was good. 

With 13:00 left in the fourth quarter the score was St. Olaf 42, Augsburg 18. 

Augsburg took over on their own 25-yard line. Augsburg’s Quinn Frisell came up with a short run down the field. Augsburg kept the ball on the field as they moved the ball down the field. 

Chad Costello came in as quarterback for Augsburg. Josiah Ferguson came up with a 20-yard touchdown reception. The two-point conversion was good.

With 9:34 left in the fourth quarter the score was St. Olaf 42, Augsburg 26. 

St. Olaf took over on the Augsburg 47-yard line. Howard came up with a short reception. St. Olaf punted on 4th-and-11. 

Augsburg took over on their own 11-yard line. Augsburg moved the ball downfield through the air. 

Augsburg punted on 4th-and-4. The punt was blocked and there was a penalty on Augsburg. On 4th-and-4 Augsburg went for it and Augsburg came up empty handed and turned it over on downs. 

St. Olaf took over on the Augsburg 28-yard line. St. Olaf’s Jordan Embry came up with short runs as they looked to get into the end zone late in the fourth quarter. The defensive pressure made it difficult for St. Olaf to move the ball. Howard came up with a 7-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was blocked and was not good. 

With 1:45 left in regulation the score was St. Olaf 48, Augsburg 26. 

The ball went into the end zone and Augsburg started on their own 25-yard line. Augsburg kept the ball on the ground late. That run out the clock. 

Both teams played well throughout the game. 

St. Olaf came away with the 48-26 victory over Augsburg.
