SPRING LAKE PARK HOSTED A BOYS’ BASKETBALL JAMBOREE

TOTINO GRACE TOOK ON MOUNDS VIEW IN FIRST GAME


Spring Lake Park hosted a boys’ basketball jamboree. In the first game it was Totino Grace against Mounds View.


Totino Grace came out on fire as they were able to hit most of the baskets that they were putting up. Mounds View had trouble making their shots.


With 12:09 left to go the score was Mounds View 13 and Totino Grace 4.


Mounds View went on a run after the timeout. They were right on with their shots. Mounds View pushed the ball throughout the first half.


Totino Grace did a good job of getting the ball out of the basket and pushing it up the court in transition. They were also able to make shots in transition. Mounds View had difficulty making their shots in transition.


Totino Grace used a zone defense late in the contest. They wanted to try to spread Mounds View out. Mounds View did a good job of recognizing that and they were able to change up the offense on the fly.


Mounds View came away with the 34-26 victory over Totino Grace.


ANDOVER TOOK ON ST. FRANCIS


In the second context Andover took on St. Francis. St. Francis used a man-to-man defense. They were able to put a lot of pressure on Andover. Andover did a good job of handling it.


Both teams fought hard on both ends of the floor. The defense applied by both teams prevented them from making shots. Neither team was able to get a good shot off.


The score remained close throughout the game. Andover picked up full court in a man-to-man press.


St. Francis did a good job on the defensive end. They played aggressively.


Andover did a good job of pushing the ball. They were able to get the guards the ball and they were able to set the tempo.


Andover went on a run late in the contest. With 7:16 left to go the score was Andover 18, St. Francis 8.


St. Francis used a motion offense pattern. They passed and cut a lot on the offensive end. Andover used mostly set plays.


St. Francis was not able to get into the offensive swing. They could not make the shots that they were putting up.


In the end Andover came away with the 33-17 victory over St. Francis.



FOREST LAKE TOOK ON NORTH BRANCH


Forest Lake took on North Branch in the next contest. Both teams looked to push the ball in transition.


North Branch came out in a zone defense.


Neither team came out and shot the ball well. Both teams missed most of their shots.


North Branch went on a run midway through the contest. They were able to string together a few baskets. Forest Lake was not able to counter.


Forest Lake went on a run late in the contest. With 5:46 left to go in the game the score was North Branch 19 and Forest Lake 15.


North Branch stayed in the zone defense throughout the contest.


In the end, North Branch came away with 33-20 victory over Forest Lake.



BLAINE TOOK ON SPRING LAKE PARK


Blaine and Spring Lake Park went at it. Both teams came out on fire as they both were able to make shots.


Spring Lake Park zone defense cause problems for Blaine.


Both teams pushed the ball in transition. The score went back and forth throughout the game. Neither team was able to go on a run. The game was quite close.


Spring Lake went on a run late in the game but was not able to catch up.


In a game that was close throughout Blaine came away with the 32-25 victory over Spring Lake Park.


OSSEO TOOK ON IRONDALE


Osseo took on Irondale. Irondale started the contest in a zone defense. Osseo started out in a man-to-man defense. They also used a full court press.


Neither team was able to make a shot at the beginning of the game. They were looking for their shots but were not able to make them. That didn’t prevent anyone from taking them though.


Irondale looked well on the offensive end. They did a good job of getting the ball out of the basket and scoring in transition.


The score went back and forth throughout the contest.


Osseo was able to make some three-point shots during the contest.


Irondale didn’t back down. They kept fighting throughout the contest. Irondale attacked the paint on the offensive end.


Osseo used both man-to-man and zone defense. They were able to confuse Irondale when they were on offense.


Irondale went on a run late in the contest. They got within a point 23-24 with 2:35 left to go.


Osseo was able to hold on to the lead. They came away with the 28-23 victory over Irondale.


CENTENNIAL TOOK ON FRIDLEY


Centennial took on Fridley in the final scrimmage. Both teams came out on fire with their scoring. Fridley used a man-to-man defense. They were able to connect on the offensive end.


Fridley looked to swing the ball on the offensive end. They looked to get into their offense.


Centennial did a good job of slowing Fridley down on the offensive end.


The score went back and forth throughout the contest as neither team was able to go on a run.


Centennial came away with the 36-25 victory over Fridley.
