Both teams traded baskets early and often in the opening
minutes of the contest.
Darren Montagna Glover was all over the floor for
Information Investors. He got his team involved in the offense. Glover did a
good job of directing traffic. On the defensive end he slowed down the guy he
was guarding by putting a hand in his face and playing tenacious defense.
The game was tied at 26 after the first quarter.
The score went back
and forth early in the second quarter. Both teams went after rebounds and they
were both into the game. It was the second game for each of these teams so they
kind of knew each others strengths.
Bobby Fong for Miller Time was able to find his jump shot
early in the second quarter. His
teammates did a good job of getting him the ball inside the three-point line as
that is where he was most productive. Information Investors had a hard time
guarding him.
Both teams traded baskets and the game was within 10 points
throughout the second quarter. Each team
played aggressive on both teams as they both went after rebounds and
loose balls.
Miller Time strung some baskets together but Information
Investors stayed within striking distance.
Information Investors went on a run late in the second
quarter which gave them the midway through the second quarter. At halftime the score was Information
Investors 59 and Miller Time 52.
As the third quarter got underway both teams came out
gunning. Antonio Tate for Miller Time came up with some nice moves around the
basket. At times he appeared
unstoppable.
The score stayed close in the third quarter. The defensive
pressure that each team played was tight and neither team went on a run in the
third quarter.
Troy Bell for Miller Time was all over the court. He was
able to drive past his guy that was defending him and get to the basket. He was
not afraid to shoot the ball. But if Bell thought his teammate has a better
shot he would pass it to his teammate and get the assist.
Miller Time was able to score on a few fast break opportunities
late in the quarter they made up their seven point deficit to tie the
game. At the end of the third quarter
the score was tied at 79.
The game really got interesting in the fourth quarter. Both teams stepped up their defensive
pressure in the fourth quarter. Guys from each team dove on the floor after
loose balls and rebounds.
Miller Time went to a zone defense in the fourth quarter to
cut down the drives to the basket.
Miller Time went on a run to open the fourth quarter. They had a 90-79 lead with 6:54 left in
regulation. Information Investors couldn't get their jump shots to go from
inside the three-point line.
Glover did his best to bring his team back but it was not enough.
Miller Time came away with the 104-94 victory over
Information Investors.
