EDINA AND HOLY ANGELS SQUARE UP IN A 0 WEEK FOOTBALL MATCH-UP

Holy Angels and Edina went up against each other in a football game. Edina got the ball to start the game. They were not able to get a first down on their first drive so they had to punt the ball on fourth down.

On their first drive, Holy Angels kept the ball on the ground.
 
Connor Moriarty was all over the field for Holy Angels. He was able to find holes in the defense and was able to chew up the field and gain yards.
 
Holy Angels threatened to score midway through the first quarter. They found the red zone on the second drive of the game.
 
Holy Angels attempted a 32-yard field goal which was short with 7:12 left in the first quarter.
 
Edina got the ball after the failed field goal attempt on their own 28 yard line. Edina also used a running attack as they looked to grind out yards on the offensive end.
 
Ben Boone for Edina was able to come up with some nice plays for his team.
 
Edina had to punt the ball back to Holy Angels on fourth down.
 
Holy Angels got the ball on their own 28 yard line. Holy Angels used a single running back spread offense.
 
Moriarty came up with some big runs for his team that got them first downs. His team threatened to score late in the quarter.
 
Holy Angels called a timeout with 1:30 left in the first quarter.
 
Holy Angels again tried a field goal but they came up short.
 
There was no score after the first quarter of play.
 
Moriarty continued to carry the ball and he kept on getting big yards. His quarterback was able to find him and get him the ball in spots where he could pick up big yards.
 
Holy Angels punted the ball on fourth down and 8 yards to go.
 
Ben Foley came up with the ball on the punt return and was able to pick up some yards on a bad punt.
 
Edina threatened to score as they kept up the ground attack. Troy Petterson found the end zone on a 20-yard run. The extra point attempt was good.
 
After the touchdown the score was Edina 7, Holy Angels 0.
 
Edina got the ball back after a fumble and Colin Ritter found the end zone on a short run for a touchdown.
 
The extra point attempt was good.
 
With 8:38 left in the second quarter the score was Edina 14, Holy Angels 0.
 
Edina kicked off after the touchdown. Holy Angels got the ball deep in their zone. As they had throughout the first half they kept the ball on the ground.
 
Kyle Fowlkes for Edina came up with an interception that gave his team momentum.
 
Edina threatened to score again in the quarter and they did as Ritter found the end zone on a short touchdown run.
 
The extra point attempt was good. With 4:55 left  in the half the score was Edina 21, Holy Angels 0.
 
Edina kicked off after the touchdown. Holy Angels looked to get into an offensive groove late in the half.
 
Holy Angels was able to pick up a few first downs and keep the ball moving late in the quarter.
 
Edina went to a hurry up offense late in the quarter. They didn’t want to waste a lot of time in between plays.
 
Edina threatened to score late in the half, and did just that as Edina's Kevin Placide for a one-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good.
 
At halftime the score was Edina 28, Holy Angels 0.
 
Edina kicked off to start the third quarter. Holy Angels got the ball on their own 25. They turned it over on downs.
 
Edina got the ball back on downs. Kevin Placide found the end zone on a 25 yard touchdown run.
 
The extra point attempt was no good.
 
With 8:43 left in the third quarter the score was Edina 34, Holy Angels 0.
 
Holy Angels got the ball after the touchdown. They were not able to get a first down so they punted the ball back to Edina.
 
After three quarters of play the score was Edina 34, Holy Angels 0.
 
Edina got the ball to start the fourth quarter.  They looked to get into the end zone as they continued to pound the ball down the field.  They had to punt the ball on fourth down.
 
Moriarty continued to chew up yards as he looked to find the end zone late in the contest.
 
Peter Menden came up with a huge run for Edina that ended in a touchdown. The extra point attempt was not good.
 
With 47 seconds left in regulation the score was Edina 40, Holy Angels 0.
