The 2009 Minnetonka basketball Fall League got underway. In the first game it was Winona against Holy Angles.
Winona was able to get up big on Holy Angles early in the game. They were able to knock down shots in the early going. Holy Angles battled in the first half. They did not give up playing strong despite their shots not falling.
Holy Angles played mostly man-to-man defense in the first half. They put a lot of pursuit on Winona.
Holy Angles had a hard time finding the basket in the first half. They were not getting frustrated though. They kept shooting the ball and going after rebounds.
Winona had a 42-17 advantage at half time.
Holy Angles started the second half playing a zone defense. Winona also came out and played zone defense in the second half.
Winona was able to make shots during the game. They kept the pressure on Holy Angles throughout the game. Holy Angles was not able to make shots that they were putting up. They were playing together as a team but there shots were not dropping.
Winona was able to come away with the 75-46 victory over Holy Angles.
